Ten Weeks Ago
"Don't feed him junk food okay?" Jae reminded her husband sternly as she swaggered towards the sofa in the living room.
At thirty-six weeks on her pregnancy, she looked as huge as a house and felt like one too.
"I won't," Yunho promised as he helped his wife to sit.
"Ha! The last time you said that, you fed him donuts and Binnie had toothache that night," Jae snorted as she looked disapprovingly at her husband who looked so manly and distant and yet a real softy inside.
Yes, Lee Yunho was putty in their four-year-old son's hand, and that four-year-old liked to eat himself to sickness when his mother's not looking.
"Ah, but that was a special occasion. Moonbin beat me at the board game. It's a guy thing you know," her husband reasoned and Jae just rolled her eyes.
"Yunnie, your son beats you on board games all the time because you let him win," she countered fondly, and when Yunho looked like he was going to protest, Jae waved him off, chuckling at her impossible spouse. "Go get Binnie," she said and her husband kissed her on the lips before he walked away, calling their son's name.
Today, Yunho and Moonbin would go to the amusement park, a rare treat since her husband was a very busy man. She had to commend Yunho for always taking time to take them out at least once a week, though, even just to have a simple dinner out. At least, they had time to spend and do things together as a family.
If she weren't only pregnant, Jae would have gone with them today to the amusement park. Since she was, she opted to stay at home and let father and son go bonding together. Still, Yunho was worried that Jae would need something and so he had asked his sister, Ji Hye to accompany her while they were gone.
"Dad, let's take lots and lots of pictures for mom okay?" Jae heard Moonbin tell his father and she smiled.
Their eldest son who was her husband's Minnie Me, was a sweet, sweet child. Soon, the two came down the stairs, ready to go. She watched as Binnie bounced excitedly towards her to give her a goodbye kiss.
"Be good okay? Don't go anywhere without daddy knowing," she told her son and Moonbin nodded as he gave her a bear hug which was hard considering the size of her abdomen.
She patted her boy's head with a sweet smile, but made her expression stern she she turned to her husband. "And you daddy, remember what I told you okay?"
Yunho gave her a boyish grin and a kiss. "I will mommy," he promised, and Jae side-eyed him, totally not believing, and so he changed the topic. "Ji Hye will come in two hours. Don't move around much okay?" he continued, and soon, the father and son were gone.
Bored to her mind, Jae took the remote control in her hand and surfed channels as she propped her feet on the coffee table. Next to her was a huge glass of orange juice filled with ice that Yunho prepared for her.
This is life, she thought as she sighed, settling on a comedy movie.
The movie ended just as the doorbell rang and Jae was surprised that it had been two hours since her husband and child left. Thinking that it was her sister-in-law, Jaeyoung lifted herself from her seat and trudged towards the door to open it, but stopped and listened before she did. She could hear people arguing outside her door and she became curious.
"You are not supposed to be here," Jae heard a female's voice which she knew belonged to Ji Hye.
"Why not? Because my fiancé might remember me?" a male voice countered and Jae's eyes widened.
She knew that voice too. It was six years ago when she had last heard that medium baritone but she knew clearly who it belonged to.
Ian! What is he doing here?
Jae felt her heart ram against her chest. She was panicking and unwilling to see Ian yet, but she knew she had to face him someday.
But why now?
As if telling herself to gather her wits together, her baby gave her a hearty kick on her ribs and she flinched in pain as she massaged her side. "I know sweetie. Mommy will end this now," she whispered her promise to her baby before taking a deep breath and opened the door.
Masking her expression was something she was good at. Nobody would ever know how nervous she was at this moment. Five years ago, she was engaged to Ian, who, as far as she was concerned was an unfaithful piece of garbage. Because of an accident, however, Jae had temporarily lost her memory and when she woke up, she had mistaken Yunho, Ian's cousin as her fiancé which her husband didn't correct.
Three days before their wedding, however, Jaeyoung regained her memories but continued to act like she hadn't for the sake of marrying the man she truly loved –the man who had pretended to be someone he wasn't just to be with her.
Since that time, Jaeyoung had dreaded the day when Ian would come back into their lives and ruin everything. She knew her husband. She knew that Yunho's lie to her was very much against his principles, and yet, he'd been forced into it so they could be together.
If Yunho found out that Jaeyoung could remember everything, he might feel ashamed of himself and let Jae go, breaking their family apart. She couldn't let that happen. She just couldn't.
"Hey," she called out to the two people arguing outside her door and both immediately stopped.
"Jae!" Ji Hye instantly looked uncomfortable standing there.
"Come in," Jae invited as she opened the door wider, but the two remained where they were standing.
"You're pregnant," Ian stated confoundedly and Jae raised her brow.
"My second child," she offered the information as she rubbed her huge abdomen.
"Ian, go home. Yunho isn't here," Ji Hye told the man but Ian refused to go. Instead, his attention was on Jae, looking at her from head to foot. "I didn't come here for Yunho. I came here to talk to Jae," Ian answered and Jaeyoung sighed.

"I don't know about you guys, but I'm not in the mood to stand on my feet the whole day," Jae said as she ushered the two inside with Ji Hye continuing to shoo the other guy away.
She was whispering but Jae could make out what she was saying. Ji Hye was telling Ian to get lost for Jaeyoung had amnesia and couldn't remember him.
Reaching the living room, Jae sat on the seat she vacated minutes ago and turned to Ji Hye.
"Ji Hye, could you get us some drinks?" she asked as she handed the other her huge glass which was now empty.
Her sister-in-law really looked like she wanted to refuse, but seeing that she had no choice, she followed. Jae was able to see Ji Hye fish her cellphone from her purse before she was out of her sight. She was probably going to call her brother so Jae decided to end things as soon as possible. She didn't want a confrontation between her husband and Ian. She was not up to it.
Ian sat on the couch opposite her with his body leaning forward, his elbows resting on his thighs for support. He looked handsome, yes, but he lacked the manliness Yunho had and Jae wondered how in the world did she fall in love with this man years ago.
"Jae, I know you can't remember me now," Ian began with a very gentle expression on his face.
Before answering however, Jae made sure Ji Hye was not on hearing distance.
"Jae?" he heard Ian call her again and Jae turned to him with narrowed eyes.
"I remember you pretty well Ian," she stated bluntly which made the other man frown in confusion. "You're wondering why I talk like this? Simple. In spite what people believe, I have no amnesia – at least, not anymore."
