Rose
''Are you sure?'' Elis asks.
I turn to look at him, seeing that we're actually eyeing Elia from afar. He has a smirk on his face while an unknown woman is currently sitting beside him—her dress splits nicely, showing off her long legs as she soothingly rub onto Elia's back. My heart aches at the way she touches him because that should be me instead of her.
''No,'' I mutter under my breath.
''I know I rarely say this but Rose, go and get your man back. Show him who's boss.'' He says, gripping onto my shoulders and making me smile immediately before I push the door open, entering the restaurant—an exclusive restaurant with hanging chandeliers and dim lights on the walls.
As I sway my hips side to side towards him, I continue to eye them; seeing that he has his hand on her thigh as he smiles down at her which hurts me even more, almost stopping my steps. My eyes are getting teary and my hopes are crashing down—leaving me with the amount of pain that can suffocate. It hurts.
Without me realising, I am already standing beside their table, making the two men in front of him turn to look at me before Elia and the woman does. I have my eyes set on Elia, only on him. When he turns to look at me, his eyes wide for a few seconds before clenching his jaw.
I expect him to ignore me and just leave me standing here but what's happening right is now is definitely the opposite. His eyes won't stop looking at me and I won't stop looking at him either. The way he tenses up show how he does not expect me at all; which is the only thing I got correct.
Elia stands up and somehow, I miss him.
I miss it when he stands so close before pulling me into his arms or when he pulls me slowly for a kiss. Truth be told, I miss everything about him—he's like my kind of drug. Whenever he's not around, I'll be lost and confused because he's the only release I can find.
To my surprise, he smiles which causes my heart to beat at a fast pace—ignoring the people around us. We are currently looking deeply into each other's eyes, not even our blinks can interrupt because we both know how we miss each other; very much that it kills us every single day of being away.
''A hell lot more than you think,'' He replies.
As he continues to look at me, he starts to look up at something behind me; causing me to turn around and see that he sees his brother, Elis. They are both intensely staring at one another before Elis starts to walk away and leaving the restaurant, probably due to the glares that Elia was giving.
Within seconds, everyone starts to point guns at each other in the restaurant—most of the guns are targeting Elia and I but he stays calm, only glancing at his surroundings before looking at me. I start to breathe heavily, noticing how we're in the middle of the restaurant and this might be the end of us.
''Great timing, Rose.'' He smirks.
My eyebrows furrow in confusion but he starts to shoot one of the men behind me before quickly pulling me away after causing chaos. Everyone starts to shoot in the restaurant while I stay still behind the wall, only staring at Elia—seeing that he has a calm expression without uttering a single word.
I turn to look at him as he throws me a gun, seeing that it's loaded. After glancing up at him, I see that he is smiling down at me before running out and using his knife to attack any near men surrounding him as he avoids being shot. Even though I'm watching him from behind, it's quite thrilling—giving me shivers all over my body as I see people being killed brutally.
My eyes widen as Elia stabs someone in the throat before throwing him away after shooting the man beside him—which causes my whole body to get furious, it's because I'm worried. There are a lot of men out there who wants to kill him but he kills them off easily without a slight fear showing.
Surprisingly, he stands in the middle, with his hair in a mess and his clothes splattered with a few drops of blood as he holds onto his knife, the blood dripping from it. My eyes remain focus on him from behind, seeing that he's slowly running his fingers through his hair, avoiding using his hand that is dirtied with blood.
My eyes remain focus on him from behind, seeing that he's slowly running his fingers through his hair, avoiding using his hand that is dirtied with blood
Elia breathes heavily before turning to look at me as I slowly make my way towards him—seeing that he has killed everyone, only leaving his men alive. I glance down at the knife in his hand, seeing that he has killed them all with a single knife; that's quite shocking.
I've never seen him this way.
''I'm sure Elis told you everything,'' He starts to speak, throwing his knife onto the ground and tearing a little bit of his clothing before wrapping it around his hand—realising that he's slightly injured and the blood dripping from his hand, actually belongs to him.
''Is this the reason? That's why you left me?'' I ask, seeing that he's eyeing the previous woman on the floor. I follow his gaze to see her laying dead with both of her eyes open—don't tell me she's innocent because that's just fucked up.
Elia takes a few steps towards me, ''I left for so many reasons, Rose but I promised that I would be back. I rarely break my promise unless they're not important to me. If they don't bring me any good, I break them—I just don't care,'' He replies and I just take this moment to stare at him.
''Am I important to you?''
He continues to stare at me without uttering a single word and I don't blame him, maybe I'm never important but we've confessed our feelings to one another; how can he change so quickly? Then, he starts to lessen the distance between us, ''Very. You're very important to me,'' He answers.
The way his eyes are glancing down at my lips, it's tempting. We've been away for a week and for sure, we miss each other's touch especially each other's lips. I miss the way he kisses me and the way he touches me whenever we're together. He's like the perfect package because he can please me in all different ways.
He leans in, kissing my lips for a few seconds before leaning back—leaving me wanting more as I open my eyes in confusion, seeing that he's actually clenching his jaw. ''You shouldn't be here, Rose. You should've stayed. You should've waited. You know how your life is in danger yet you're so stubborn. Why won't you listen?'' He furrows his eyebrows.
''You didn't give me an explanation.'' I mutter.
''So, how can I stay? How can I wait for you because I, myself didn't even know if you were going to come back or not? Every single day, I waited for you. I waited for you to come back through that door and that you would tell me, everything is okay, everything will be fine but no, because here we are,'' I add after turning to look away as I let out a deep sigh. Why are we so complicated?
''For fuck's sake, how many times do I have to tell you? I can't lose you, Rose! I can't lose you. I rather die than losing you because god damn it, you're very important to me. You're much more important than anything else. You're much more important than my own life,'' He breathes out heavily before pinching the bridge of his nose, ''Don't make it complicated for me.'' He adds.
''Me? I'm making it complicated for you? Oh because last time I checked, you were making it complicated for us. If you would just tell me what's wrong, if you would just trust me, none of this would have happened—'' I start to speak but he cuts me off, shocking me.
''You were supposed to leave!'' He shouts.
We are both looking at each other but the way he looks at me shows how he's just as confused as I am. He clenches his jaw once more, holding back his anger and preventing himself from exploding as he continues to look at me—continue to break my heart but I stay still, waiting for him to speak again.
''What?'' I feel my tears appearing.
''You were supposed to leave. Just like how Danielle left. You don't deserve me, Rose. You don't deserve to be around with people like me. I was supposed to let you go and I was supposed to let you live your life, at least help you start but I fucked up. I was selfish. I wanted you to be with me and that has caused this.'' He stops for awhile, ''You weren't supposed to be here. You were supposed to leave because you had enough of this. You had enough of everything and that you would just leave me,''
''That's the plan,'' He mutters.
Instead of falling down and crying on my feet, I start to slap him across the face, causing his head to move slightly as I hold back the pain. ''You never loved me, is that right?'' I hold back the tears from falling but I fail once I feel them streaming down my cheeks—yet, Elia pays no attention.
''I loved you, loved.'' He replies, after seconds of keeping quiet.
Then, he turns to look directly into my eyes, only giving me more pain due to the fact that I don't see anything in his eyes—only darkness and cruelty. I only stare at him because I don't know where to go and I don't know how to react; it hurts deeply inside, I feel like I can just stab him and get it over with.
I wipe away the tears before I look up into his eyes and forcing a smile. Please, just shed a tear because that'll ease my pain. I thought but I see nothing in his eyes as he looks back at me. The aching pain won't stop because for some reason, I feel like I've given him everything.
With a sigh, I glance at him.
''Goodbye, Elia.'' I say.
