465 Meeting In the Elevator

Mika had to back tracked to a hallway exit point where she could leave the ventilator shafts and take a service elevator down.

However, that meant being more exposed than she liked to be; and with guards still walking around out there fully armed, she wasn't one hundred percent confident as she liked to be.

Her foot is still a little sensitive after it was broken by King Rychell. Thought it was healed by her pups, she couldn't afford to get seriously injured again.

With a squadron of guards standing in this hallway, she had to wait but was tempted to find another exit point.

Irritated, that they wouldn't move, she gave up this spot and choose to find another exit point that would lead to the service elevators.

On the navigation deck, the Captain and her staff removed the cover over the vent shaft and push a young female crew technician inside.

"You know what to do. Follow the map on screen and get to level eight to restarted the mainframe." The Captain handed the young female a tablet that showcased the ship's vent shaft system.

"Yes, ma'am." The young female nodded her head before she entered and began to crawl through the vents.

First time being trusted with something so important, Osonia grinned as she made her way through the narrow shafts.

Guided by the map in her hand, she twisted and turnt her body towards an exit point just outside of level eight. Reaching her destination she exited the vent. They had all hoped the doors to room where the mainframe system could be restarted would open for her, but they remained firmly shut.

"Damnit!" Knowing she was just outside of her goal, disappointed her greatly. The whole crew is depending on her.

Looking through the window of the door, she could see a vent shaft right above where she needed to be. Examining to map on the tablet, Osonia located another route through the shafts that will allow her to come out right in the room, but it was longer.

No time to think if her plan was good or not, Osonia jump right back into the shafts and began to crawl.

At a different side of the vent shafts, Mika had just reached a closet. After exiting the vents, she dropped down to the floor as light and softly as possible.

This was the only other route that would put her close enough to the service elevators that leads to the escape pods.

Taking a look around the closet she noticed crew uniforms stack on shelves in the corner. Finding no better time than now, to change out of her dirty rag of a dress and to blend in with the crew.

With a change of wardrobe and a quick clean of her hair and face, Mika looked through the closet' door window to peeked out into the hallway.

Emptiness greeted her.

Making sure she outfit was fine and everything was in order, Mika walked out, calm and collected.

Okay, I'm out of the closet. There no going back now…

Apparently all the crew members that are on this floor went into their quarters when the Captain told them to. So, they were locked up tight in their rooms until Mika is ready to let them out.

She only had one more turn to make and walk down before reaching the service elevators.

As she turned the corner however, she unfortunately came across three guards standing at the edge of the hall.

"F**k me…."

She didn't want to go back, but she also didn't want to stand there with the guards long enough for them to realize she wasn't part of the crew.

Debating on what to do, she heard the elevator ding, a sound indicating that it was stopping at her floor. Taking a chance Mika walked down the hall just as the elevator's doors opened.

"Wait! Hold the elevator!" She called out, running the last couple of the meters to the doors.

One of the male reached out and stopped the doors from closing as a young female inside the elevator held down a button to keep the doors open.

"Thank you!" Mika smiled as the jumped into the elevator.

"No problem." The guard backed away and allowed the two female go.

"Should we have checked their identities?" One of the guards asked.

"Nah...they were both wearing the crew uniform." The one who held the door open for Mika, shook his head brushing off the question.

In the elevator, Mika looked at the control panel and saw level eight lighted up. Assuming that is where the young female beside her is going, Mika pressed the launching deck button.

The two stood in the elevator quietly not speaking to one another, as the levels dropped to the lower floors.

Feeling awkward in the silence of the cart, Mika turned to the young female to make light conversation.

"Great weather we are having, huh?"

Caught off guard and thinking about the intruder, Osonia did know what to say for a time to the young female's comment.

After staring at Mika for a while, she answered, "Umm...yeah."

"What is your name?"

Osonia looked at the young female, and answered hesitantly, "Osonia…"

"Oh, hello, Osonia." Then Mikaela started to hum.

*Ding!*

"Hope you have enjoyed your time on the…" Mika said as she held opened the doors for Osonia, but forgot she didn't know the name of the ship.

Osonia got out and look at the young female weirdly.

"...Well, bye." Mika press for the doors to close.

This whole conversation took no more than three minutes, but left Osonia feeling strange.

She couldn't placed what made her feel this way, but she decided to push it to the back of her mind. She had more important things to worry about.

Locating the vent, she popped opened the cover and crawled inside. Moments later she found herself over the section to manually restart the mainframe.

As she when to pulled out her tablet, it dawned on her. The only people who have been able to move around freely since the attack, are her, the guards and….the intruder. And that young female didn't look like a guard.

"Sh*t!"
