Ian almost threw up. However, what happened next, paralyzed Ian in fear. At least 5 fregones, were staring straight at him, with lifeless, colorless, cold eyes......

Chapter 9

"Ian?"

"Hey, Ian."

"Ian, goddamnit!"

"W-what...?" Ian could barely ask.

"Get down already!" Eve whispered as loudly as she could.

As soon as he realized what Eve had said, he crouched down as fast as he could. There was no noise, yet again.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

Knock.

Were the only noises being heard a few seconds later. It was all coming from the blocked door. Ian was holding Kuroki's hand in fear. The knocking became louder, which caused Ian's grip on Kuroki's hand to tighten. Kuroki was on the brink of tears. Eve was profusely sweating, and Velora was heavily breathing. Only 2 hours had passed, with the group being stuck in the shack, yet, it felt like years had gone by. Kuroki decided to check the area. The fregones were no longer there, nor was the disturbing, dead, pilot corpse.

"They ate him..." Kuroki thought to herself as she frowned in sorrow.

"Guys."

"Yeah?" Eve asked.

"We should probably leave right now, and perhaps go to a safer area." Kuroki suggested.

"We should take the radio." Ian suggested as well.

Velora nodded as she crawled towards the radio, still being wary of the petrifying creatures that were now roaming the earth.

"Let me remove all of this." Eve whispered as she tried to remove every piece of furniture from the barricaded door as silently as she could.

"Alright, on the count of three, we run out of he-" Kuroki was cut off by Ian,

"Wait, what if one of us checks the area for any fregones, from here that is, and then we leave to a safer zone, quietly, to attract less attention?" Ian suggested.

"You are a genius!" Kuroki whispered.

"T-thank you." He whispered, turning away.

"What if a fregone spots us though?" Eve asked, somewhat shaking.

"Hm," Velora thought out loud.

"Why don't we put on a set of camouflage clothing?" Velora asked.

Kuroki nodded.

"I think the previous owner of the shack left enough if not at least three sets of camouflage clothing." Velora said as she gently put the radio down on the floor.

Once Velora was done checking the small closet of the shack, she gave some clothes to Ian, Eve, and Kuroki.

"Sh*t. There isn't another set for me." Velora cursed.

"I'll give you my camouflaged shirt, my original one is already green so, yeah." Ian said.

"T-Thanks." Velora hesitantly took the shirt.

"Alright, maybe you can wrap my green hoodie around your waist to cover your blue jeans." Eve said as she handed Velora her hoodie.

Velora nodded and wrapped the worn out hoodie around her waist.

"Guys, the coast seems clear, lets go!" Kuroki whispered.

Everybody nodded and got closer to the door.

"We can do this!" Kuroki reassured everyone as she got a hold of Ian's hand.

Ian's eyes widened.

"Don't be afraid." Kuroki said as she tightened her grip on Ian's hand.

Ian nodded and as they held hands, they lightly walked out of the shack, along with everybody else.
