"Anyways, Papi, what do we do now? This situation has turned into something serious, and it escalated into a point of no return. We have to settle this fast, or else...a third party might just join in and defeat us." Mabi said as he looked at Papi straight in the eyes.
What Mabi said was perfectly reasonable and justified. This situation has turned into something the hyenas couldn't just escape from.
They couldn't just say, 'Oh retreat now,' and then go back to their lives as the rulers of the southeast of the forest.
They lost too many monsters, and that was the crippling factor to this escalated situation.
What was worse in this situation is that...there was another party eyeing for them, waiting for them to weaken.
And Papi knew that very well, which is why Mabi spoke to him about this.
Well, Mabi was just looking for what to do in this situation as Papi was the one with the brains. He would be the one to give orders in this situation, and he would be the one to decide things in this situation.
Whatever Papi had to say about in this situation, Mabi would have gladly followed it and would have no problems about whatever Papi would say.
"Hmmm...." Papi hummed as he tried to use his brain to think about this situation that suddenly happened.
This situation happened so fast that it didn't really strike Papi in the brains that it really has happened. After all, just earlier, they were surrounding the goblins with might, numbers, and power.
However, now, those might, numbers, and power have weakened more than what Papi have expected from his initial calculations of the intruders' strength, numbers, and luck.
Their situation was so bad that it was as if Papi was back to the good old days where the three legendary hyenas first went out of their way to conquer the southeast of the forest.
However, there was nothing good in this situation as the goblins were able to get away with their leader.
What's more, their secret trump card, the ape monster's stomach, has already been used and there would be nothing like that in the future.
Now that it has been used, there would be no more safety net for the hyenas and the monsters, and they are perfectly in the right spot for danger.
And since there was another party in the southeast of the forest that wants to take back the southeast of the forest, this situation was truly bad.
"If that white goblin could use that kind of power again and the third party starts its attack on us, we would definitely lose." Papi said as he finished calculating the calculations in his mind.
And what he said was reasonable. After all, what Dawn did earlier was just that strong and it was just that destructive.
If Dawn used that again against the monsters, it was only natural to think that the monsters would end up dying, and be bathing in their own blood in no time at all.
What's more, the hyenas couldn't be sure that they wouldn't be caught up in something like that.
Papi and Mabi also couldn't confidently say that they would be able to defeat Dawn when both of them knew.
Both of them knew that they wouldn't be able to win against Dawn one on one or two on one.
Dawn has already trashed Mabi around with just his speed, and Mabi was forced to use his powers to heal himself when Dawn punched him with all of his might. That punch took away half of Mabi's head and healing a wound like that was taxing even for Mabi.
Even if Mabi was the fastest monster present in the southeast of the forest, he wouldn't be able to run away if his head gets blown away like that.
And since Mabi was actually a fighter and could fight against most monsters, Papi wasn't even in the equation.
Papi fighting against Dawn would be exactly just like ants fighting a lion.
After all, Papi was way weaker than Mabi, and since Mabi got trashed by Dawn, it was fair to say that Papi would just be killed in just a single second by Dawn's fists.
That was how large the gap between their strengths is, and both of them knew that very well.
After all, they already have fought against each other, and they have the experience of seeing Dawn's strength for themselves up close.
It would be stupid of them to think that they would still be able to win on their own, and it would incredibly naive for them to think that they would be able to win against Dawn just with their numbers.
After all, it was already proven that Dawn wouldn't be taken down just with monsters.
Of course, it would be another matter if the three legendary hyenas got hundreds of thousands...millions of monsters under their command, but that was just asking for the impossible.
That was why...Papi knew that the factors of winning against Dawn and the goblins...the factors that they needed to win this war...Papi knew that it was not with them nor was it them.
He knew that and he was able to recognize it fast and easy as it wasn't really that hard for him to accept something so trivial such as that.
Papi was a monster, but he wasn't a prideful being who wouldn't take a loss. That was also why he was called the brains of the three legendary hyenas, and that was also why the other two legendary hyenas let him take control even though their strength was nowhere near each other.
And since the winning factor that the hyenas and the monsters needed to win this war was not with them, Papi...thought that they should just get it themselves.
Right, they should just get the winning factor themselves, and they would easily win against Dawn and the goblins.
And that winning factor was..."Rabi. If we have Rabi, we won't lose." Papi said as he looked at Mabi.
What Papi said was the truth. Rabi was the brawns of the group, and he was the strongest monster living in the southeast of the forest.
However, since Rabi was not with them and went on his own to the fortresses or whatever, it is safe to say that the fighting strength of the three legendary hyenas and their monsters has been cut in half.
Right, Rabi was the one who was carrying all their asses with just his strength alone, and since he was that strong, Papi just needed to make sure that Rabi would kill the white goblin for him, and things would end well.
The war would end, and the victors of the war would be them. It was such an easy way to win, but...it wasn't really that simple.
"Rabi...he went to the fortresses before we started, and we don't know how we are going to contact him. The goblins have probably escaped by now, and if they are, we won't be able to chase them." Mabi said as he gave his thoughts to Papi.
Although Mabi knew that Papi could do all the calculations on his own, there might be some information that Papi missed but Mabi knew, which is why he tried speaking up.
"No, the goblins are on their way to one of the fortresses. I felt them before they left so I am sure about this one." Papi said, but he was not done as he continued.
"I guess that they have someone else or another group attacking the other fortresses that we have left alone, and that they are trying to regroup with them." Papi said as he nodded his head.
This was the only conclusion that Papi could think of about why the goblins went in the direction of a fortress when they should have been retreating towards the north.
It was then that Papi finally decided on what they would do in this situation as he finally spoke again as he looked at Mabi in the eyes.
"Since that's the case, our objectives should be the same. Our objective is to regroup with Rabi in time, and their objective is to regroup with the other group that they tasked to take down our fortresses."
"The first one to do their objectives...should be the one who wins this war. Now that we know this, we have to move fast and precisely."
"We have to go and meet Rabi as soon as possible, and to do that, Mabi...you are the key.' Papi said as he raised his hand to point at Mabi.
"Me? What are you talking about?" Mabi said as he titled his head sidewards.
He didn't know what Papi was talking about when he said that he was the key or whatever, however, he soon understood as Papi spoke again.
"We will use your speed so that we would be able to outrun the goblins and meet Papi first. We would leave behind the monsters here, and focus on meeting Rabi."
