91 I will make the blood deal

The Sung siblings have noticed it. The vampire king wants to make a deal with the daughter of the Sung Family, not the council president. What can Sung Na-Mi give to the vampire king? The deals with the supernatural creatures do not work like the deals between humans. Even signing a contract and being bound by the laws of the human world is nothing compared to a simple deal with a supernatural creature.

Se-Yong pulls his sister behind her. The vampire king is daring. Did he not know that Sung Na-Mi is the only daughter of Sung Jun and Fang Aisa? He wants to hear what this vampire king wants.

"What do you want from her?"

Fu Sheng cocks his head. "Are you her spokesperson?"

"Oppa, let me talk to him," Sung Na-Mi says to him in a low voice. She is also curious about what the vampire king possibly wants from her. "We need his help. He understands the converts better than us."

"Na-Mi, keep your mouth shut." Se-Yong turns his head toward the king. "If you wanted to talk to the council's head, I wouldn't make it difficult for you. However, you have to face me if you want to talk to the daughter of the Sung Family."

"You will do too," Fu Sheng replies with a lazy voice and a disinterested gaze. "Your mother is a demonic goddess. I need her to remove the curse from my child."

Na-Mi is surprised. The vampire king has an adoptive human daughter. The girl is a bane for the vampire's existence. Her scent is extremely luring to the vampires, especially converts. Her blood can turn vampires into ashes in an instant. To be able to live with a human child in the castle, the purebloods must have great control over their thirst.

The curse? Is he talking about the child's blood or the scent? Why her mother? Her father will return as a God. He can help a human better than a demonic goddess.

"That's all?" Se-Yong furrows his brows. It's hard to believe that the king wants something so simple.

"Yes." Fu Sheng answers him with a curt voice.

"You don't want special rights for the purebloods?" Se-Yong looks at him with doubts. "Some treasure? Access to the lower worlds? Keys to the secret realms?"

Fu Sheng sighs. "The council can't control the hunters. We know how to open the gates to other worlds. The council and the purebloods will never be on good terms."

They won't forgive. Fair enough! It's too much to ask them to forget about the past. If she can't get closer to them as a council's head, she will get approach them as Sung Na-Mi only.

"All humans are born under the protection of heaven." Sung Na-Mi speaks, "My father can help your daughter. She's not cursed. She was born because of the growth in the number of converts. If there's darkness, there's light. She was supposed to be a hunter in the future."

"That won't happen," Fu Sheng tells her with a sharp voice.

"It has to be your mother, Miss. Sung. " Aiken chimes in, "Fu Mian might be human, but she has been adopted by my king. She even carries his name. My King wants her to live a normal life. In the future, he doesn't want her to be a target of the hunters or the converts. Since she is adopted by someone who belongs to the darkness, heaven has abandoned her. She can't wield the magic in her blood or protect herself against the vampires. The gods can't remove this curse given by heaven. Your father can only mask the scent at most, but he can't take away the curse in her blood because it is the will of heaven."

Sung Na-Mi purses her lips. It's true. She and her father might have the blessings of heaven. They can directly wield the purest form of the energy of heaven that only the primordial gods can wield. It doesn't mean that they can change the will of heaven.

"A demonic goddess can steal magic." Fu Sheng stares at them.

"You want my mother to take away the magic in her blood." Se-Yong finally understands. If that happens, their mother will attract the converts in the same way that Fu Mian does now. "I won't make this deal."

"Then, we won't cooperate." Fu Sheng turns around, ready to walk away.

"Wait!" Na-Mi steps forward. "Fu Sheng, we can't make this deal on someone's behalf. Only my mother can decide whether she will steal it or not. Don't be unreasonable with demands."

Fu Sheng stands still on the spot. It's nothing better than the deal with the hunters. They are safe in their castle. There's no hurry.

"What we want is a promise." Aiken smiles at them. "If she can't steal it, she can remove this curse with another curse."

"There's always a rebound." Se-Yong looks at him scornfully. "It's heaven's blessing that turned into a curse. My mother will suffer if she tries to counter it with another curse."

"Oppa, we should leave this for Mother and Father to decide."

Se-Yong glowers at her. "You will promise them something like that."

"I can't promise that my mother will help." Sung Na-Mi says with a loud voice, "The child needs help. I am sure that Mother and Father would want to help the child. If vampires cooperate with us, we will owe them. We will do our best to find a solution."

Do best to find a solution? Fu Sheng's lips curve into a smile. He will make sure that they find the 'solution'.

"That's all we want." The corners of Aiken's eyes crinkle. "But, words are nothing but air for us. We believe in the blood promise. If you agree to do this, the purebloods will cooperate during these dark times. It has to be your sister."

They know how much Sung Na-Mi is loved by her parents. Se-Yong grabs his sister's wrist. "She won't make a blood deal with the vampires. We will find some way to fix this world."

Blood deals are dangerous. If words are not kept by one person, that person will become a slave for eternity. It's similar to selling the soul to the devils. Her brother is afraid for her. She understands it,  but she is irritated. Why can't her brother trust in her ability more? The purebloods has a simple demand. They didn't demand anything for themselves. They want to help a human girl. As the council president and someone with heaven's blessing, it is her duty to help the human girl.

"Oppa!" She jerks his hand. "Don't be hasty.

"Na-Mi!" Se-Yong yells at her.

"Fu Mian is a human child. She needs help." Na-Mi looks straight at him with a determined gaze. "People are dying. The monsters are growing in numbers every second.  Our family is stuck in different realms. We will be stuck in a deadlock while people die and there's nothing left in the world. This planet will be haunted by the ghosts and those creatures only. Do you get it? I don't want to see one more person turn into a soulless vampire that can't be killed using the usual means."

Aiken and Fu Sheng listen to their argument. Purebloods don't lack patience, but it's Na-Mi and Se-Yong are young. They don't have patience like the king. Whether Sung Na-Mi agrees or not, the king will save the world because he has a family to protect. He just doesn't feel the urgency that Sung Na-Mi feels toward the world.

Se-Yong stops arguing with Na-Mi and questions Aiken, "Why can't I do it?"

"You are a demon." Aiken is honest. "If you break your words, you will be a slave at most. It's not the same for her. If she breaks her words, she will become a slave of the purebloods and her blessing will turn into a curse. She will be just like Fu Mian."

Na-Mi takes a deep breath. The purebloods are clever. Her parents won't let something like that happen to her.
