Fu Sheng abandoned them.
Sung Na-Mi releases her breath, exasperated. She looks in the direction of the gate. It's rather frustrating. She purses her lips. She understands that something must have happened. Otherwise, the vampire king wouldn't have left in such a manner. Yet, she can't help but feel unsatisfied.
"I know how you feel." She feels a cold hand on the small of her back. Frowning, she turns back to look at Klyn. He looks at her with sympathy in his eyes. "She's his true mate. You can never separate them. Also, I don't think that Huang Qiuyan likes women."
It takes a minute for her to understand the meaning of his words. He doesn't think that she likes woman, does he?
Klyn pats her shoulder a few times. "Na-Mi, I will introduce you to some beautiful women after the gates are fixed. Give up on Huang Qiuyan. My king is a possessive man. He won't go easy on you for eyeing the queen."
She grabs his wrist and twists it, making him scream in pain. She still can't believe that someone like him is her true mate. He is a ball of stupidity. She grasps his jaw and pulls him closer. "I don't know where you get this strange idea that I like women. Let me make this clear. I have no such interest in Huang Qiuyan or any woman. If you create any misunderstanding between me and the vampire king or Huang Qiuyan, I will summon a thousand heavenly lightenings on you."
"You are really not into Huang Qiuyan?" Klyn widens his eyes, ignoring the pain. Pain is not important right now.
"You idiot!" Sung Na-Mi pushes him away. "Stay away from me."
She wants to kill this guy, but the repercussions of killing a true mate are too much to face.
A little ahead of them, Sung Se-Young and others are watching them. Lei shakes his head. Klyn must have done something. Sung Na-Mi has been in a bad mood for a while.
"If he wasn't one of you, I would have taught him a good lesson," Sung Se-Yong mutters under his breath. Though his sister is capable of handling flies like Klyn, he is still upset.
"He's going to end up in the punishment chamber for sure." Lei sighs. Han says nothing.
"Nevermind him." Lei doesn't say the actual words in his mind. It seems like there's something bound to happen between Klyn and Sung Na-Mi. Is it his intuition? Sung Na-Mi is smart. She won't fall for Klyn's playboy tactics. He squints his eyes. Why does the light seem to be bending around, making them shine brighter as they get closer?
"Crap!" Lei slaps his own face. He didn't see that. It's impossible. A heavenly blessed woman and a pureblooded vampire? That's impossible. It never happened before. It's worse than the bonding between a human and a vampire.
"What happened?" Sung Se-Yong frowns at him.
Han pulls Se-Yong's arms and points toward the energy whirlpool around the gate. "What do you see in there?"
The attempt at distraction is successful. Se-Yong raises his brows. His forehead creases, forming deep lines. "Aren't those souls?"
"Yes, I noticed that some souls moving toward the gate." Han tells him, "I guess that they are drawn to the gate."
"This is done by someone for sure." Sung Na-Mi's clear voice interrupts them. "This planet is being converted into an energy egg."
"What?" Klyn gapes at her.
"All the gates are closed." Sung Na-Mi gestures toward the gate. The painful cries of the souls make her chest hurt. She fights back the tears. "Nothing can come inside or leave this planet. The fastest way to kill humans? Converts are better than any other beings. They are touched by death once and they can easily get affected by the energy imbalance."
Why didn't anyone notice this? But then, there have been enough things to worry about -- the pseudo-wars with the Fae realm, the devils who found their way to this world, Monarch's conspiracies, and other organizations' direct opposition to the Council etc. Even the time-travellers created a huge mess too. Immortals and the time-keepers can't forget if the original timeline like the mortals if the time has been turned back. Did someone take advantage of incidents or was it all orchestrated by someone? She continues with a low voice,
"I don't think that it's random. It must have been planned for a long time. All they needed to make sure was that the gods were away. Reis left with Sister Ri Na a few years ago. My father had to go to heaven to finish his side of the deal he made with Arius. Mother was the only demonic goddess living in this world. So, they created a distraction in the lower world."
"Fuck!" Se-Yong punches the tree. "This is eternal death. All of these souls will never reincarnate."
"Is there any way to stop this?" Lei inquires, worried.
What would happen if the energies keep growing? Balance is crucial to any world's sustainability But what is the goal behind this? This is a global scale spell. She can't imagine what would happen to this planet at this rate.
Na-Mi furrows her brows. The gates can only be broken by the magic from the world it's leading to. She can try breaking open the gate to heaven; however, breaking the gate to the other realms is not in her power. Then, she doesn't know where the gate of heaven is. Her father and mother knew, but she never asked them where it was and they didn't say anything either.
Can her brother open the gate to the lower worlds? He doesn't have that much strength. If her eight brothers along with her mother can't open it from the other side, she doubts that Se-Yong can break it open from this side. If the pureblooded vampires help, it's not impossible. But what about the Fae realm and the other worlds?
Ian might be able to open the gate to the Fae realm. His magic's rank is quite high. She can't tell if it's enough. Then, she doesn't like Ian. That man will ask for something in return for sure.
Na-Mi, I don't think that it is the God of death." Se-Yong , "Arius will hate it the most if the souls are destroyed like this. He's a primordial God, meaning that he is a universal God of death. The destruction of souls will screw up the reincarnation systems of other worlds too. Remember the time when the reapers went on strike? He promised them that he wouldn't try to start an apocalypse in this world until all the primordial gods agree with him. We know that Reis will never say yes."
Something like that did happen in the past. A catastrophe was prevented, thanks to her uncle and his wife.
What would happen if they destroy the locks on the gates? In the future, there might not be any way to keep otherworldly creatures from coming to this world.
She has to make a choice. They have anything but time to squander. The global level spell cannot be done by a single person.
