"What's wrong with him?" Sung Na-Mi lays him down on the ground. She checks his pulse and breath. "His heart is fine. He is breathing fine. What happened to him suddenly? Did he absorb heavenly energy by accident?"
She can't feel it though. His veins are clean of heavenly energy. Then, why did he pass out suddenly? She opens his eyes and checks his pupils. "What happened to you? Are you pretending to be sick?"
"Na-Mi?" A familiar voice startles her. She looks back at the gate. The gate is completely open now. The angels are already coming out. A man is standing only a few feet away from him. Dressed in a golden robe, the man has shoulder-length dark hair. His eyes are honey-brown, just like hers. He appears to be around in his late-twenties.
"Father, you are back." She runs to him. "It was… Mother is gone too... Father, you took too long."
"Na-Mi." Sung Jun smiles and puts his hand on her head. "You have done well."
She nods at him with teary eyes and a smile, unable to say a word because of the happiness surging in her heart. Her father is back. Everything is going to be fine from now on.
"Lord, the situation is worse than we expected it to be." A man with light hair bows to him.
He could sense the chaos in the world. Sung Jun tells him calmly, "Your priority should be the souls and the living first." He pauses for a moment. "When I say living, I mean all the creatures -- not just the humans."
"We will do as you say." The man gives him a deep bow. Other angels follow the man and bow to him. Long white wings emerge from their backs. Sung Jun watches them fly out of the cave. The other gods are also coming.
"Tell me what happened to your mother." He asks his daughter.
"Something happened in the lower world. She went there with brothers," Sung Na-Mi tells him everything that has happened since then. "I don't know who did this."
Heaven has been in chaos since all the gate was locked from this side. To lock the four gates and cast a spell on this world, it has to be someone powerful. Only a handful of people have the ability to lock the gate of heaven. He takes a glance at the boy lying on the ground.
"Who is he?"
"That person is…" Sung Na-Mi looks away. With a quivering voice, she tells him, "Father, he helped me open the gate."
"Is that so?" Sung Jun has a smile on his face that is not a smile, causing her to gulp. This smile is never good news. "Na-Mi, how did a pureblooded vampire come to this place?"
Except for humans and those who are from the heaven realm, nobody can come to this place. A dark creature like this should be incinerated the moment it took a step in this area.
"Father, he's… he's…" Na-Mi closes her eyes and blurts out, "My true mate."
The last piece of news is difficult to accept. He lets out a heavy sigh. It can't be helped. A true bond is above heaven and any other realm. Maybe the primordial gods can deal with it.
"We will talk about this later." First of all, he has to bring his wife and sons to this world. "Go home."
"Father, he's hurt." She grasps his hand when he's about to leave. "Can you check on him?"
He gives her a deep glance. The anxiety and fear on her face are clear to him. His daughter cares about this boy. He had never said anything when his sons chose their persons. But why are his daughters always choose some troublesome persons? When Ri-Na chose Reis, he had to give in to her wish because she reminded him of the time when he was chasing Aisa. He approved of Reis because he knew him well.
But why it's a pureblooded vampire?
Sung Jun touches the boy's forehead. After a moment, he looks at his daughter who is biting her nails. "He's fine."
"Why is he unconscious then?" She creases her forehead in worry.
"He probably received a shock," He answers him quietly. Since it's a true bond, she's meant to be with this boy. "He will wake up in a while. Don't worry."
"That's a relief." She closes her eyes and releases her breath.
It's too late. Sung Jun shakes his head. His youngest child is already in… But what about this boy? He stares at the vampire's pale face. He can't approve of this until he's sure that this boy is right for his child. "Na-Mi, go home and stay there. I will send Se-Yong back."
"Where are you going?" Sung Na-Mi asks him.
"To the dark gate." His wife is in the lower world. Though she's likely to cause a wreak there, that's not a safe place for her. "I will drop this boy at his home on the way."
Her father might to literally drop him from the sky in the castle. "Father, you should go alone. I will take him home with me. Since he's my true mate…"
She trails off when her father raises his brow. The chill in his eyes freezes her soul. His father is not in a good mood.
If they leave them alone, they might complete the bond. He grasps the boy's ankle. "You can't be left alone with him."
"Father." She watches him fly away from him while holding Klyn's ankle. "At least, carry him properly."
After they disappear from her sight, she sits down on the ground. She wonders out loud, "If he didn't know that we are true mates, why did he ask me out on a date? Was he already interested in me?"
A small smile appears on her lips. "Though he is aware of my family, he's not afraid of asking me out."
He's not that bad. She giggles. He's also clever. Because of him, she was able to find the gate.
"Oh, isn't this Little Na-Mi?"
She looks toward the gate. A dark-haired man with beautiful aquamarine eyes is standing near heaven's gate. The god of death is here.
"Arius?" She looks at him scornfully. "Were you in heaven?"
"Since your father went to heaven, I also went there for a while." He raises his head and scowls darkly. "Who did this?"
He must have found out about the souls. Though she shouldn't be laughing, she lets out a low mocking laugh.
"Laughing at my pain?" Arius glares at her. When this world is a mess and most of the souls have disappeared, the god who would be affected the most is the god of death. Since he is a primordial god, his work has increased by tons. "I hate people like you."
"You hate everyone." Sung Na-Mi rolls her eyes. "Except for Reis, maybe."
"I hate him the most," He grumbles. "This wouldn't be happening if he didn't turn back time."
"I wouldn't be here if he didn't turn back time." She shows her tongue to him.
