"Ms Fang, where are we going?" Klyn looks at the hand that's holding his, walking through the narrow streets of an unknown world. The otherworldly creatures don't pay any attention to them as if they are invisible to them. Surely, it is this woman's doing. Just who is she?
The strangest part is that they are from the same world. How could he never hear about her? She's a pretty, vivacious, and cute in some ways.
Whenever she looks at him, he finds something familiar about her. He can't pinpoint what it is. Her smile reminds him of a certain someone.
It's the damn bond. Klyn shakes away his thoughts. He is merely attracted to Sung Na-Mi. She's beautiful, but it can never happen between them. He doesn't want to lose his free life.
"We are going on a date." Fang Aisa tells him with a cheerful tone, "Are you fine dating someone who is already married?"
Klyn hasn't dated a married woman yet. He did date some women who were already in a relationship. Dating a married woman with children is a little… But there's something that he finds intriguing about this woman. "Ms Fang, how about we become friends first?"
"Friends?" She looks at him, surprised.
"Ms Fang, I am a playboy." He lets go of her hand. Will he always think about a certain someone when he holds another woman? It's not like he's in love with Sung Na-Mi. He likes her a lot. "I know that you are upset with your husband, but I am against having affairs with women who are only wavering for a moment."
"A wavering heart doesn't qualify for you?" Fang Aisa finds him interesting. "If my heart is wavering, you should take advantage of it since you are a playboy."
"I did take advantages of those wavering women in the past." Klyn runs his fingers through his hair. "Those women regretted it a lot after they took the step. They couldn't go back to the one they loved. Then, they blamed me for causing them to waver." He pauses for a moment. "I might have tempted them, but they knew what they were doing. Then, why should I be blamed? Honestly, they wouldn't be wavering if they were satisfied from the beginning. So, I don't mind playing with you if you leave your husband. But I don't want to take the blame for wreaking a home that is already breaking down on its own."
The corner of her red lips curls up into a half-smile. She watches him intently. "However, it's not my heart that is wavering right now. You are walking beside me with someone in your heart."
He is unable to refute to those words. Someone is weighing in his heart. Sung Na-Mi's strange postures, her sunny smile, and her cool way of summoning the lightenings… the way her eyes shine when she's excited about something, her gloomy expressions or the pain that she showed for the souls when she looked at the energy pool, her efforts to stop the apocalypse, her fearless nature, and… the way she looked at him when he asked her out…
"Pretty one, come with me." Fang Aisa grabs his hand again. "I want to hear about the woman in your heart."
"There's nothing much." Klyn follows her anyway. "I like her, but I don't love her. I don't want to be stuck beside her."
"Why is that?" Fang Aisa enters a tent-bar with him. They sit opposite each other. After a few minutes, a hunchback demon comes and places two bottles of alcohol along with a bowl of marinated meat in front of them.
"To be honest, I wanted to date her." Klyn takes a sip of the alcohol. It's so bitter that he even feels brain turning bitter. Is it poison? He looks at the woman who is drinking the alcohol with a mild smile in her eyes.
Fang Aisa eats a piece of marinated meat and gestures him to continue.
She's not a human. Why is he bothered about what she eats? He could sense dark energy throbbing in her aura. Her body can't hide the strength that she has. Something about her is dark and seductive, opposite of Sung Na-Mi. He keeps comparing her with that girl with a ponytail. "She turned out to be my true mate. I left because I don't want to complete the bond with her. Rejecting her would bring enormous pain to both of us. I am a playboy. How could I stay with one woman for eternity?"
After a moment of silence, Fang Aisa says with a casual tone, "I heard that sex is amazing for true mates."
"Lady, you shouldn't speak like that." This lady is so bold. Klyn blushes a little. "Besides, you don't need a true bond to experience amazing sex."
"That's true." Fang Aisa finishes her drink and waves toward the hunchback demon with a smile. The demon places another bottle of alcohol in front of her. She gives him a friendly nod. "Jigo, you have the best alcohol among all the worlds."
"Goddess, it's my honour to serve you." The demon smiles at her before he leaves to attend other tables.
"You are a goddess?" Klyn asks her. "A heavenly one?"
"A demonic one." Fang Aisa waves her hand. "I am a boring person. You tell me about your girl. You remind me of my husband."
"Your husband…" Klyn creases his forehead. "Was he a playboy like me?"
"He was an idiot once." Fang Aisa smiles mysteriously. "He also abandoned me once. He thought that he could protect me that way, but that didn't turn out to be true. Both of us got hurt and died miserably. Then, we got a second chance at life. I gave him a hard time, but he managed to get me married to him. I forgave him since he was such a clingy guy."
"That's not like me." He can't find any similarity with her husband.
"You are afraid of hurting her." Fang Aisa points at his chest. "You don't think that you are good enough to be with her. She's pure and special in your eyes and you think that you will hurt her if she falls in love with you. You don't trust yourself the most."
Klyn feels his blood turning cold as he digests the words that she's saying to him. Already in love with Sung Na-Mi? "She and I haven't been together for long. I don't think that I love her."
"When you are worried about hurting her, it means that you love her, pretty one." Fang Aisa chuckles when she sees his lost expression. "You want to protect her from yourself. You also don't want to see the disappointment in her eyes. If it was not a true bond, you could have tried staying beside her. If things didn't work out between you and her, it was fine because she would have found another man. But you are scared that she would be stuck with you for eternity if you start something."
That's… true. Klyn can't tell her otherwise. Someone like Sung Na-Mi is like the sun that belongs to the sky. He's not a good man. His past is messy. He's been with countless women. He even hurt them. Would she ever trust him after she hears all about it?
"Do you know what hurts the most?" Fang Aisa leans forward. "Seeing the disappointment in the eyes of the one you love. You weren't bothered when you saw the disappointment in the eyes of the women you have played with. Even if they cursed you to death, you were fine with it. Now, you don't want the same disappointment in her eyes that those women showed them to you when you broke their hearts. As the countless heartbreaks piled on the trail you left behind you, you continued on the same path because you were never in love once. Now, you can't take this path because that girl will cross your mind each time you look at another woman."
Klyn looks down, afraid of looking into Fang Aisa's eyes lest he sees the glimpse of Sung Na-Mi. "I want to see her again."
"Then, see her."
"She's going to be upset if she finds out what kind of person her true mate is." Klyn puts her head on the table. "Lady, what if I break her heart?"
"Isn't the solution simple?" Fang Aisa taps the table. "Don't break her heart."
"What if she doesn't want to see me?" Klyn raises his head. "Lady, I feel like dying at the thought."
"That would sad." Fang Aisa gives him a nod. "But I do want you to get hurt, pretty one. You also broke my son's heart."
