113 Lunch break

As Han Mi said, there was more or less no work apart from just going through old cases which might help strengthening her basics in the criminal Psychology. Xiaoli and Ruihan were also just arranging their desks and finishing the pending work while Han Mi was as usual disturbing everyone time to time.

Turning towards Han Mi Zhi, Ruo asked her something that she always wondered about, "Han Mi, I always had a question?"

Happily turning towards Zhi Ruo Han Mi answered feeling proud, "You can ask any Question to the Mi Godess She can solve all the problems"

While Zhi Ruo was studying she always had a question that had bugged her forever. In a case, there are many people involved, a police, a forensic team, a lawyer and so on. But why was there a need of a psychologist team. What difference could it make? Instead, psychologist are more needed in schools or clinics to help people battle their thoughts.

"I always wondered, what difference does a psychologist make in criminal department?" asked Zhi Ruo while looking at Han Mi's expressions which clearly said she was also unclear about the question.

"A psychologist..." Before Han Mi could explain Zhi Ruo, Senior Xu who was about to go on a lunch break heard the question and answered

"Each person has their own duties.

A police is supposed to catch and interrogate the criminal and suspect everyone.

While a lawyer is supposed to question the people involved and find the evidence.

But surprisingly, none of them can access the mind's of the people they are dealing with, this is where the psychologist comes into picture.

As a psychologist, we are supposed to help in identifying the mental state and the likelihood of the people committing a crime. We should try to reduce the chances of a person who might become a potential criminal.

Not all cases are as straight forward as they seem, sometime evidence might point to someone but the truth may be completely different. Most of the times where a psychological intervention makes a difference is in the cases involving teenagers or children's.

The best part of having a psychologist on board is in dealing with people who keep no evidence behind their crime. Get it?"

"Yes senior Xu." answered Zhi Ruo while being thankful for the explanation that she had longed for since years.

"Okay, let's take a lunch break everyone. We are before time today so my colleagues can show off to other departments as well." saying Senior Xu left the office leaving everyone flabbergasted.

One second passed.......

Two second passed......

Three seconds passed.........

complete silence.......

"What did I just hear?" said Han Mi after a some time while pinching herself

"Mee too?" "Mee too?" Both Xiaoli and Ruihan spoke simultaneously with wide eyes and mouth's open looking in the direction of Senior Xu.

Smiling at everyone's reaction Zhi Ruo took her lunch box and started walking while saying, "We got a lunch break, let's not waste time and show off to everyone."

Another week passed with things going all well....

Zhi Ruo had started to learn many new things in the department which she might have never known, their team was also very friendly while Han Mi and Zhi Ruo had became good friends.

But........

Isn't calmness another sign of destruction on it's way..........

One evening while Zhi Ruo was having dinner, she received a call from mother Zhi, Usually Zhi Ruo and Mother Zhi was not that close. Not because she was her step mother, it was just because she was unable to connect with Mrs. Zhi. Most of Zhi Ruo's time was spent while studying and with Zhi Xin. Even the time Zhi Ruo had spent with her dad can be counted on finger's. It was also the reason that after Zhi Ruo got married it did not make much difference in her and her parent's life.

Mother Zhi calling her late at night was a shock for Zhi Ruo, thinking that there might be something important or worrisome Zhi Ruo first attended the call.

"Hello mother, how are you?" asked Zhi Ruo.

"Ruoruo, I am good how are you?" asked Mother Zhi in a little impatient voice

Noticing the impatientness in mother Zhi's voice Zhi Ruo simply asked if there was anything she could help with, "I am good mom, What happened, is there something I can help you with?"

Trying to sound calm even though her heart was surging with endless emotions, Mother Zhi asked Zhi Ruo,"Ruoruo, by any chance do you know where Zhi Xin is?"

It isn't first time that Zhi Xinn has left home without informing anyone. But the worry in Mother Zhi's voice was bugging Zhi Ruo a way too much. Her heart was in turmoil, there was a hunch that something is wrong, something which might not be in her control.

Calming her mind Zhi Ruo took a deep breath and asked about the specific details.

"Brother Xin, What happened mother, tell me everything please." asked Zhi Ruo in a calm manner while getting up from the dining table and going into her bedroom and opening her laptop.

On the other side of the cell phone Mother Zhi explained while trying to control her sobs, "Ruoruo, Zhi Xin is unaccesable to everyone of us since last ten days or so. It is common but everytime he will atleast keep sending messages or something. This time there was no updates on his sides along with that...."

Before completing her sentence Mother Zhi started sobbing vigorously.....
