Chapter 32

TL-Mechatronic

It was something similar to a sparkling diamond crystal. The transparent diamond-shaped crystals sparkle in five colors.

“Has the seeds been crystallized?”

“Let’s pick another one.”

To check whether this is the only one, or the others are the same; the two picked another fruit and split them in half to check the inside. There were crystal seeds in every fruit.

There were also two or three larger fruits. “If I plant this, will it sprout?”

Jean muttered with a suspicious expression on his face, and Nina tilted her head as she rolled her thoughts back and forth.

“No, I really don’t know.”

If there is a bud or sprout around here, that would be the best option. She raised her head. Other trees with bright red fruits formed clusters around the area.

“Let’s get a bag for now.”

“Yes.”

Although it looked fine on the outside, she couldn’t figure out what effect it would have on the Violet Forest and the Duchy. As a sample, she cut out whole branches with fruits, took some fruits, and packed a handful of crystal seeds.

“Let’s go. I want to look further inside before sunset.”

At Nina’s words, Jean looked at the sun, gauging how much time they had left, and nodded. Nina grinned while staring at him. Jean asked back, “What?”

“No, I’m just glad the color of your pupils were green. It refreshes my eyes. The color disposition of the things here could hurt the eye after all.”

Nina frowned while she talked about the scenery behind her back. Jean, rubbing his eyes without realizing what’s happening, smiled, and returned Nina’s words.

“Then it’s good that your eyes are golden, too. It’s like looking at the sun.”

“Exactly. Pretty, right?”

Shrugging her shoulders, Nina blinked her eyes and got on the unicorn. Jean, lost to her absurdity and just laughed as he also got on his mount.

Because the unicorns could climb rough stone paths or narrow mountain paths that horses could not climb, the speed of the two was fast. Then the unicorn suddenly stopped.

“What is it?”

When Nina asked the unicorn, it pitched and rolled his feet. It was clear that it doesn’t want to go further anymore. Jean said from behind.

“What’s up?”

“It doesn’t want to go any further. I wonder why.”

“There must be something dangerous in there. We haven’t been inside this area before. Something we can’t even imagine could also be lurking.”

At Jean’s words, Nina said, “Yes…….” Then she narrowed her eyes and dismounted from the unicorn.

“Stay here. I’ll go check it out.” Jean frowned and also dismounted his unicorn. They didn’t even tie their reins because it was not needed.

“Let’s go together.”

“It might be dangerous, so stay here.”

“Even more the reason that we should go together.”

Jean said while approaching close to her, Nina glanced back at him and nodded. She pulled out her sword and grabbed the buckler (a small shield in her hand). Jean also sheathed his sword. Taking into account the trees and bushes around, it was not good to use his halberd. Nina’s sword is only two fingers wide, and his sword is about four fingers wide.

As they went slowly, checking back and forth, they heard a faint scream that made both of them flinch.

“Just now?”

“Shh.”

Nina sang a small chant to North Wind.

“To the bearer of sound, guide the echo over here.”

A loud scream was heard carried by the cold wind that blew over.

“A person?”

Jean distorted his face, and Nina’s expression darkened.

In this deep place inside the Violet Forest? A human?

“Let’s go check first.”

Nina kicked the ground and started running, and Jean followed closely.

“Jean, watch your steps!”

Suddenly, Nina disappeared as if she fell in a hole. He stopped. Right in front, there was a sheer cliff, and a person could be seen in the valley below.

“Nina, Spirit! Arghhahhhhhhah!”

Jean jumped down with a loud scream. Nina, running like a goat, stepped on stone to stone with her light body, and shouted at the appearance of him falling without countermeasures.

“What the?! Jean! North wind!” At Nina’s cry, a strong wind blew from the bottom up. Jean floated in the air for a moment and then was thrown away in the opposite direction.

“Gee, it’s really cold.”

It was a cold wind that froze Jean to death even though he was only hit for a moment. Although a white breath was still visibly coming out from his mouth, he quickly took out the unfolded halberd from his back and spread it out to assemble it.

Nina then landed softly and shouted.

“It’s dangerous!”

“What’s the danger when you are here?”

Jean, who spoke calmly, ran out. Nina said “even so!” shook her head, and started running beside him.

The people didn’t respond much to the sudden appearance of the two, since they were frozen in place by the Bellacs in front of them.

Jean whistled.

“It’s really big.’

It was three giant bears. Just three ordinary bears would simply tear people apart, but these were Bellacs. They stood on their feet and looked about 3 or 4 meters tall, their fur was sharp and shiny as if all of them were made of steel.

A human would be ripped apart as soon as their front paws with blade-like claws touched the body.

As if there were significant casualties, corpses were already scattered here and there. Some were running away, and some were responding with spears. “Winter, you are a silent death, a strong shield, a fierce cold that stops everything!” Nina’s blade froze white, and every time she stepped, on the ground, the surroundings froze. She swiftly avoided the attack of the first black bear and kicked the next white bear with all her might. The white bear went flying and fell on the ground with a loud sound.

“Jean! The gray one!”

“I know!”

Jean swung the halberd and cut off the gray bear’s arm. “Kuawwww!”

Black blood gushed, and a furious grizzly bear ran into him. Jean continued to fight, avoiding the attacks of the bear with the agility that showed that this match was not a big deal for him.

“Hmmm!”

His axe cut the bear’s throat. But the head didn’t completely fly away. If about two-thirds of its neck is cut, it must die or stop, but the bear just swung its paws.

‘It was shallow…….!

With a momentary judgment, he released his hands from the spear and stepped back, but Nina appeared flying and kicked the bear’s head in the air. With the sound of leather tearing, the body and head were separated and the head flew away.

Nina, who landed on the floor, said with her eyes squinted.

“You let your guard down because it’s been a while.”

“I did. I was really surprised.”

Jean shook his head, trembling while wiping the cold sweat.

“That’s what it’s supposed to be.”

“It must be because it’s a high grade.”

Nina turned back. She glanced over at the party standing with their spear in the air

Three long swords appeared on Nina’s hand.

“So why are you making a fuss on someone else’s land?”

Jean stood stiffly while thumping the halberd on the ground.

The trespassers looked at each other and gossiped. A woman walked out between the people holding the spears.

The woman with her brown hair tied tightly was quite tall. Maybe about 190 centimeters. She was a woman who looked like a warrior with a solid body.

“My name is Pocco.”

She was politer than Nina thought, but Nina has no intention of returning the woman’s politeness.

It was unpleasant.

The Violet Forest is their own backyard. She didn’t know there was a stranger in their backyard.

“So, your reason for your illegal intrusion into Luverne’s estate is? How did you get in? What were you trying to do here?”

Pocco raised both hands in the air and lowered her head.

Her clothes and way of greeting…….

“You’re not from the Empire, are you?” As Nina’s voice became more sarcastic, Pocco said quickly.

“I fully understand the discomfort. We are not here to do any harm. Please listen to us.”

“Try it.”

Pocco was extremely cautious. Half of the personnel who landed on the three Bellacs died. Even though they are all the best of the best. But this slender-looking girl took both of them at once.

That means they can hurt them any time.

“We came from Lency. Do you know Lency?” “I know. They’re famous for their iron.”

Lency steel is expensive, and it was scarcely imported because of our economical situation. Steel for special weapons used against Bellac was also produced by Lency.

Nina lifted the sword.

“Because this is also made from the iron ordered from Lency.”

But only 15%. However, it was a hot country far from the Empire,

Pocco smiled faintly.

“I am a person working in the ‘Karak Workshop from Lency.”
