Why did I feel slightly irritated seeing Ellena save every bit of juice the meat had? I could only imagine the tenderness as she bit into the meat, holding it with her bare hands.
It makes me gulp. I can touch things but I can not consume them. That's kind of problematic, making me wish to become a ghost instead of only-Ellena existence.
Nevertheless, I still have priorities. This could be another test of patience for me. I won't be defeated by gluttony.
After eating for a while, Ellena finally took a rest inside the cave. But just after she fell asleep, the sun started to rise.
This test makes me wonder what the test was. It feels like they just have to live in the wilderness. But I don't find any difficulty with it.
I guess that's just to compare the abilities of silver-ranks living in the wilderness. Maybe there are no major threats here and the test wanted to know if you could support yourself inside a forest.
I must have become stupid. I should have collected some information about the test. But, it would be useless too, since this test right now differs from the last test.
Every test was recorded in books and I didn't see this one as relevant. There is just a test that requires the adventurer to defeat a monster. But the rest was just the same...
Well, it's not a problem. This is just a silver-rank practical test, so thinking of it having high difficulty is futile.
The sun finally woke up, but Ellena was still not. I just didn't bother her as she looked peacefully sleeping.
Woosh!
I paused and clenched my fist as soon as I heard that sound.
Every time?! Why is someone bothering Ellena when she's sleeping?!
I heard a brushing sound coming from a bush. And I was hoping it wasn't the same as the ambusher.
I checked it, dragged my little body, floating over the bush. After moving, I saw an injured rabbit. It looks as if it was hunted by someone as there is an arrow stuck in its abdomen.
The rabbit was breathing roughly.
What should I do with this?
"Heart! Here's the rabbit we shot! "
My attention was taken by the voice that resounded from afar.
Two humans are rushing in my direction. One male and one female, wearing above-average light armor.
They looked both the same age as Ellena. Although older than here, the range is near.
"Thank goodness! I am really hungry... I wonder what the purpose of staying here is. It feels like they wanted us to try to live in the wilderness. " The female whose name was Heart said.
"Yeah..." The male scratched his head, awkward about what Heart said.
"I feel like you're right," he added, making Heart raise her eyebrows.
"What do you mean by that, Kelyan?"
"Huh? Nothing. You're right." Heart just made doubting eyes, trying to catch and see through him. But Kelyan's eyes averted.
While watching them, I tried to assess who they are. Hahaha. Talking about audacity, huh? It feels like I'm being judgemental right now.
Nevertheless, I still wanted to check if they had brought a threat to Ellena. I just sighed in relief when I felt their calm aura. I think they're not dangerous since they feel simple to me.
They picked up the injured rabbit and finished its life with a small knife. They dismantled the body and started fixing the place to start their fire.
Kelyan starts picking some twigs. But while he was picking the twigs, he came to a halt when he saw something that I immediately called a stupid act we did.
We forgot to bury the remains! Ashes and burned rocks are still there, below Kelyan's feet. What a devastating mistake we made.
When he saw it, he pondered and checked the ashes.
"This seems still new." He mumbled and I eventually slapped my forehead.
It's too late. I can't bother Ellena right now, so I just have to let them in the meantime, I guess. They don't pose any threats, so there's nothing to be agitated about.
Kelyan left the ashes and returned to Heart's place.
"Hey, Heart! I think there's someone here. Let's leave the place. We mightn't know what kind of person is this."
I see... So they are naturally wary? It's not bad, but it's a cowardly act for others. They still don't know if it's someone to be wary of. But I can understand them. They are just thinking about their safety.
Heart raised her eyebrows. "You're really a coward, Kelyan. Can't you act like a man for once?" Heart sounded in dismay.
And I'm taking back my word. It was just Kelyan who was cautious.
Is she a person who thinks being brave is a must for a man? I don't know, but wits are better than courage.
And just as their ideas were slightly spilling and filling the air, I looked at them for the second time to intently assess them.
They have fair-looking faces. They seem to come from a comfortable family, but they don't seem to be siblings.
Heart had short almond-brown hair that just lengths till her ears. And Kelyan had an undercut and his hair was also brown.
What I said was that they don't look like siblings because of their faces. Heart has a strong attitude face, almost upturned eyes. While Kelyan has downturned eyes, he is literally the opposite of Heart.
"What's the problem with being cautious? We can at least try to dodge problems since we just needed to pass this test." Kelyan answered with his voice, starting to point out something.
Hm... Are they quarreling right now? I feel like this is always a topic.
"Kelyan, you are about to get married. Why don't you try to become a man?"
"You always think that being brave is everything. If you only put strength into your body, your brain will become useless. People survive by being smart, not being brave." Kelyan said with an argument to his words.
He is right... Also, depending on this world is useless, so being brave is not everything. Since they can't depend on the world, they just need to outsmart everything. Even if they don't have the physical strength and braveness, they can still handle things by thinking.
"Sighs... Never mind. I will just continue being here and forget about you dumbass. I already cut the meat in half, so let's part our ways for a while. Let's just see who passed the test."
Those words... Obviously, it hit Kelyan. His face was literally making an agitated expression. I don't know them, but I see them as friends who have a close relationship.. If someone sees this, they'll think they're lovers.
