Five days after the fight with Verxal, Ellena visited the blacksmith shop and placed an order for the customized sword.
Ellena was dressed casually but elegantly, and she was greeted politely by the shop's staff.
"Hi. I came here because of an order for a customized sword. Can I ask if it's done? The blacksmith promised me a week to complete." Ellena initially said.
The staff that wasn't familiar with us greeted us and asked for a slip or proof of service. When Ellena showed it, the staff willingly assisted her.
The staff left for a moment and entered the workshop. After a few minutes, she came back with a sword covered with a large cloth. Nonetheless, despite its disguise, I can see the sword's elegance.
Well, it was entirely because of the sword's shape. Maybe that's how I felt the aura?
Both of us were excited, so Ellena didn't waste any effort and checked the sword.
It was... beautiful.
As soon as Ellena uncovered it, the sword's appearance gleamed within our sight. It was a sword with a few curves on its blade, but it was symmetrical. I can see the blacksmith's talents within the sword.
The hilt was also made from an alloy, or something original to the blacksmith.
One word, splendid.
Ellena's eyes flickered with excitement as she touched the blade of the sword.
"From what material was used?" Ellena asked.
Well, in her inquiry, she just asked for a durable and light sword, and it turned out to be perfectly similar to what she requested.
"It was from a Mythril alloy, esteemed customer."
"I see."
Ellena continued eyeing the sword. And an idea came into her mind. She tried to swing the sword with the intention of not harming anyone, but just to try the weight of the sword.
But along the way, just before she could do so, she was halted by the staff.
"Please, esteemed customer. Don't try that inside the premises. It has a special consciousness. If that sword is compatible with you, it will exert pressure from the swing."
As a result, Ellena was forced to postpone her attempt.
I was surprised at first. How could a sword create pressure from a mere swing if the owner is compatible with it? Well, I kind of forgot that normal is different here.
Here, special weapons and other things like artifacts have life and can create their own consciousness.
The consciousness of things is not the same between humans and living creatures. Instead, their innate capabilities will emerge if the owner can awaken their capabilities.
Ellena left the shop after paying for the last payment. And just how excited she was, she headed straight outside the city so she could try the sword.
With care, she returned the cover and left the city's premises with a smile on her face.
I couldn't help but shake my head. Ellena is becoming closer to weapons. She's a battle maniac. And I don't have to ignore it. She's obviously like that.
Well, there's nothing wrong with it. I am worried that she might seek out problems because of her thirst.
"Ellena, what do you prefer? Swords or guns?" I asked.
I am curious, actually. I want to know the level of her thirst for fighting. If she just wanted to see blood, maybe it was for close combat. I mean, if she likes it. But if it was merely to destroy someone by any means, maybe she'd answer the gun.
I know... she hasn't used a gun before, but I gave her the idea.
"I don't know."
I hung up after she answered. She's also confused about her likes. I bet she's still having some changes... I don't know.
But if there's one thing I am sure of, she's normal. Because sometimes people don't know what they like and what they hate. It just comes and you realize it if you don't think much about it.
"Okay," I said before we arrived at the wide plain outside the city walls.
"Okay... let's try this!" Ellena cheerfully exclaimed as she uncovered the sword once again.
She raised it as soon as the light of the sun reflected off of it. And with a swing...
Woosh!
My eyes widened in surprise.
A tree... just fell down from receiving an invisible pressure from the sword's swing.
Does this mean that she's compatible with the sword? I don't know, but Ellena might know.
"Ellena, what's the meaning of this?" I asked.
She was silent and just looked at her right hand where the sword was. Her hands were slightly trembling. Was it because of her? Or excitement?
"The sword is calling me..."
Huh? I hung up again. It was vague, but obviously, I need to learn more about swords so that I can understand Ellena.
But it's not the problem now. The sword called her?
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"The sword..." she was hesitant again and it tensed me! I'm curious what the heck is going on! She's literally hanging me up intentionally!
"Ellena! Can you tell me what it was?!"
I couldn't bear myself. I am excited right now as well.
There's something inside me that wants to know what Ellena said.
"The sword has consciousness, Aaron! Just like what the staff said and it's answering to my body. It's calling me."
Is that what she means? The sword is calling her? Or basically, just reacting to her? I don't know how she interprets it, but maybe it's a good sign.
The sword just added to her strengths, and with it, we don't need to waste stamina to increase the power of her attacks!
This is incredible!
"Ellena, try doing a technique!" I said.
"Chill! I am also excited! Wait!"
Ellena made a stance like what the Overbearing Swordplay had.
She swung small movements from the sword and while she was doing it, the wind played with her.
The ground had small scars from her movements, and the sword was also trembling after the technique.
A swish in the air emerged as Ellena finished the last form. There was also a fragment of blue light after the technique.
It was... the true colors of the technique or just the sword effect?
"He is excited, Aaron. I think I might give him a name, " she said with a smile on her face.
"Then give him a name," I said.
"Light. He is Light."
What a... simple name, but amazing. It was compatible with the sword.
However, we weren't expecting what was going to happen next. The sword flew and some symbols appeared on the blade.
After that, it came back to her but the symbols were still visible and obviously radiating.
"It awakened," Ellena mumbled.
