Chapter 1
A small house located a bit far from the village.
It was difficult to find it in such a remote place unless someone knew the location.
Still, the house had a visitor. He was a handsome man with jet black hair and dark eyes that seemed to copy the night sky. Particularly, his pearl-white skin didn’t go well with his all-black.
The man knocked politely. The door opened and a little boy appeared.
The boy looked young, about eight years old.
The man and the child stared at each other. Both frowned without saying anything.
“It is forbidden for merchants to enter.”
The voice of a child was unbelievably icy.
“So you’re cold towards your father.”
The man’s voice was so charming that once you hear it, you will never forget it. The low, hoarse voice seemed to attract people by itself.
“It was absurd to think that those words are coming from a man who doesn’t even know he had a son.”
“I wish I had known by now. So where is my wife?”
A man who overturned his child’s voice to the point of being angry, looked around the house to search for the woman.
He was told it was bothersome and to find them moderately, so he came after two days. But the woman he wanted seemed to not be there. He only saw the annoying child.
One son, that’s all.
The man had no affection for blood. It was natural for the man who was a demon.
A world where only the strongest survive.
Affection for blood was a luxury. There was only recognition for the powerful.
“Who do you dare call your wife?”
The boy shed energy that was close to his life. The man gave him a pitiful expression.
Although his appearance looks like an eight-year-old child, he was actually less than two years old. Children of the devil grew at a different rate than normal people.
The child looked four when they met and now, he already looks like an eight-year-old kid.
Such a child could not even become a small thorn to the man.
“Yuria, where is she?”
Still, since he’s a son, the man thought it would be okay to listen to his little complaints. He asked again, changing the subject
“She’s my mother. Get your tongue straight. Just because you’re my father doesn’t make her your wife.”
The child’s expression appeared bloody as if he was quite angry that the man dared to call his mother his wife.
“I am your father, and she is your mother. So, she is my wife.”
He only intended to listen to this child’s whining once, and that was more than enough.
Even if it was Yuria, that level of mercy was tremendous.
No matter how hard the child tried to deny, Yuria was the person who would eventually become his wife and his companion.
Although Yuria’s permission was necessary for him, the child’s will was not very important.
“Do you think you would get along with the sweetest, most beautiful mother in the world? A guy who looks blacker than the gum I spit out?”
Even the words directed to his father were the sharpest and poignant words to be heard.
“Is it because you’re a mongrel? Your eyes must be very bad.”
A man famous among the demons for his looks and skills laughed at the ridiculous comment.
“You can get lost now unless you don’t wish to walk on two legs because you broke your ankle. Indeed, it will look good on you. If you look down on the streets, there were many dogs like you.”
From a child’s point of view, the man was no different than a dog. They wag their tails so much when someone looks at them that a person can be kind to a dog without knowing its true intentions.
The child also didn’t feel affection towards this person despite him being his father.
He was an abandoned child from the moment he was born. He lived alone without anyone’s help. Just before he died, he finally met Yuria who fell in love with him, and so only he can feel what having a family is like. To the child, the only family he had was his mother, who raised him with love. He wouldn’t feel the same to a man he had never seen before
What does blood relations have to do with him?
Although he and his mother were not related by blood, no one loved and cared for him as much as she did.
“Spanking is the medicine for a child who doesn’t listen.”
“Spanking is medicine for a deaf dog.”
The child tried to attack without hesitation. He had no intention of listening to the man any longer.
He didn’t even need to listen. Every time a dog barks, anyone can hear it, but no one understands it.
Regardless, it was time for his mother, Yuria, to return soon. He didn’t want her to run into this man.
The man didn’t listen to him, so the boy had no choice but to forcefully kick him out.
The man smirked at the child’s attack.
How can a child who is only two years old try to deal with me by force?
From the devil’s point of view, he could see that there were already some buds, but it was quite reckless.
Who was he?
Wasn’t he one of the 5 Great Demon Kings?
The man was called the best devil among them.
The man easily avoided the child’s attack, but the child did not give up. Soon, a fierce battle broke out between the man and the child. To be precise, it was a series of the child’s persistent and bitter attacks.
Even if that were the case, he was just a child who would collapse with just one gesture. No matter how much the man had no affection for his son, he had a bit of respect for him. Either way, the child inherited his blood, and at the same time, he was the son of the woman he loved.
‘Tch, this is stupid.’
The reckless child who could not understand and rushed to fight would only end up being killed, even if it was not by the man’s own hands.
But the man’s patience also hit a limit.
The child’s attacks were too annoying to dismiss it as a cumbersome butterfly flapping its wings.
It was at that moment the thought of seeing Yuria with his best clothes came to him. At most, his clothes would be a little bit crumpled.
With that in mind, the man tried to shoot out bitter energy towards the child, but a shopping cart flew out of nowhere and hit the man.
It was an attack that could be easily avoided. Even if one barrier was opened, the shopping cart would’ve not been able to reach his body.
But the man did not. It was because he could feel the scent of a familiar person in the shopping basket.
It was thrown by the woman he loved. Even if she had thrown a stone, he would welcome it for the mere fact that that particular woman’s hand touched the stone.
The man, who was hit by the shopping cart and messed up, smiled brightly.
It was a funny mob. Fruits and vegetables in the shopping cart exploded and colored the man’s body.
When he arrived, the woman he had been waiting for so long, Yuria, stood there.
“Yuri….”
“What are you doing!”
Before the man could even finish speaking, Yuria shouted fiercely.
She had ordinary brown hair, transparent silver eyes with an endless bottom, and was a beautiful woman with a fairly outstanding appearance. However, the people at her house right now were so good-looking that she felt relatively ordinary.
“Fren, are you okay?”
Yuria stared fiercely at the man and then ran to the boy.
She was relieved that fortunately, there were no injuries implicated on the child.
“… Mother.”
The child, Fren, trembled in weakness. It was hard to believe that he had uttered harsh words toward the man just a moment ago.
“You must have been very scared.”
Yuria gently raised her hand and touched Fren.
He was her only lovely son.
With what confidence does that man have to strike the child, when he was raised by his mother with love?
“I… I was very scared.”
It was a soft voice that seemed to crumble at any moment. Suddenly, tears welled up in Fren’s eyes.
Seeing that, the man smirked.
Where does your acting answer to?
Who attacked first?
However, Yuria felt pity and hugged Fren even tighter.
For a moment, Yuria also stared at the man with a cruel expression.
The man flinched at the sight.
“It was that kid who attacked first.”
It was as if he had an attitude that he was proud of.
“Is that what you were going to say when you’re a grown up and fighting a frail child?”
While Yuria had an absurd expression on her face, the man looked at her as if he had just experienced injustice.
Where was that wicked bastard? Considering that he was only two years old, he was quite talented. Fortunately, he was able to prevent the child’s attack and not get injured. If it was an intermediate demon, he could have put his life at the hands of that child.
“You are already perfect and lovely, even each strand of your hair is perfect, but I am worried about your eyes. Don’t you see that little schemer?”
“Who are you to call my son a schemer?”
Holding Fren in her arms, Yuria said sharply.
He (Fren) was like a heartbroken child. She thought that she was being overprotective by treating the child delicately, so she had no choice but to look down on him.
At one time, no, at least in the novel, Fren was the blackest villain that almost led the world to destruction, but it wasn’t the same in Yuria’s eyes.
A wounded and lonely child.
He was such a pitiful child who had never been loved, did not know what love was, and did not know how to give love.
So she took in Fren, pouring all the affection on raising him making sure he didn’t grow up as a crooked person.
Perhaps her efforts paid off. Fren grew up as a lively and bright child that it was hard to think he would become a villain later.
He was a child who sympathized with the sorrows and pains of others and never had blood on his hands.
He never harbored resentment towards those who spoke harsh words to him.
How can that child be weak?
It’s so naïve and clear, that she just wished he’s a little bit weaker.
“… Hoo.”
The man was impressively good.
He already put on a mask while thinking of getting people on his side.
Other demons wouldn’t care, but that frail child was a huge obstacle between him and Yuria. He, who is called the best of the demons, had to be treated like this by the woman he loves just because of that little child.
Just when the man was about to open his mouth to retaliate because he thought he can’t be played by the hands of this child anymore, another visitor arrived at Yuria’s house.
“Sister!”
She was a young girl with dazzling blonde hair and golden eyes and was the same age as Fren.
At the appearance of the girl, Fren and the man both distorted their impressions.
For a moment, they forgot that they were wary of each other. There was another one in their way.
“…… Reah.”
Yuria called the little girl with a complex look on her face, as if not knowing how to treat the little girl.
“Sister, I heard that when you propose, they give you a bouquet of flowers and a ring. Please marry me!”
The girl shouted with a bright face.
At the same time, Fren and the man shed bloody energy. It was so much that Yuria’s house collapsed.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
Thanks to that, the man sensed the signs and immediately opened the barrier.
“This…….”
Yuria looked in vain with her house left with only remains. How hard was it to build a house for her and Fren?
“Go away now! And…… Don’t even think about taking a step here until I restore my home!”
The man trudged out at Yuria’s fierce voice.
No matter what he says, he will only be hated by Yuria in this current situation.
But it was also unfair because it was not only him who destroyed the house.
The man stared fiercely at Fren, who was held in Yuria’s arms.
At that gaze, Yuria shouted with a cruel expression on her face.
“What are you looking at in my son’s face!”
In addition to her resentment of destroying her house, Yuria picked up anything she could grab and threw it at him; In fact, it was a huge rock from the broken wall.
However, the stone didn’t reach him and only passed by.
The man was moved by her considerations. As expected, she’s also a lovely and sweet woman.
Leaving the regret behind, the man quietly left the house.
“Sister, marry me…….”
After the man left, the little girl Reah who haven’t heard an answer from her yet, called out to Yuria with a pitiful voice.
“Sorry.”
“I also studied parenting! As long as sister marries me, I will be a great father to that little boy!”
At Reah’s words, Yuria was speechless. Do you not know the fact that you’re still a child?
It stuck on Yuria’s head that Reah was still a child who knew nothing and simply paid no heed to her, but she’s also worried about what to do.
The girl in front of her was none other than the original female lead in the novel – the biggest cause of her lovely son, Fren, turning evil.
To Yuria, who was worried that Fren would go wrong as in the original story, Reah’s existence itself made her feel uneasy.
So, she tried hard not to associate with the female lead. Plus, this villain’s after didn’t even appear in the novel.
‘Just how on earth did this happen?’
Yuria suddenly remembered the day when she first met Fren.
