Ke Meng built a brand new land for the players within a couple of minutes. There was a gigantic snow mountain, a long river that flowed across the land, a vast jungle, and harmless animals. A city was the only thing that was lacking.
There was already a concrete city inside the big whale. Ke Meng wanted a city that had a different style.
‘If I gave the players the ability to build, what kind of city would they create?’
Ke Meng was excited. However, he did not have any good idea on how to realize what he was thinking exactly at the moment.
He was stuck at Dream Distortion now. He could not realize the request he wanted.
The request was too blurry and ethereal. The steps to realize the idea were not specific enough. He needed more powerful psychic power to support that.
Ke Meng thought he would put it aside. He left the dream world and observed secretly through Synesthesia.
For instance, entering a dream was akin to a person watching a football match live. Meanwhile, Synesthesia was akin to watching the live match on the computer at home. In that case, Boss Ke would not negatively affect the players.
The players in the whale’s stomach had no idea that a piece of land had appeared on the ocean surface. They were still trying to figure out the map carefully, attempting to find the key item to solving the dream.
White Milk lifted her head to look into the sky. The rich blood vessels were as strong as tree roots. They were expanding and shrinking, while white gleams were swimming in the vessels, providing light to them.
The odd pressure on her chest was gone. However, she had the intuition that some changes had happened out there, not knowing why.
Until now, nobody knew how to get out. However, everyone knew a backup method of exiting.
If they killed themselves, there would be a great possibility that they would be revived onto the sea again. However, they could not escape the fate of being swallowed by the big whale again.
The current batch of Orange Planet people had seen the news, as well as the reports the institute had announced. They knew the big whale loved swallowing the victims on the ocean, sending them into its stomach.
There was an urban city the ancient citizens had left behind. There might be the key to solving the dream inside.
The Orange Planet people gathered and walked around the big whale’s stomach, looking for the dream-solving item that was uncertain if it even existed.
Meanwhile, new players that had fallen asleep entered the dream world. They did not fall into the ocean, but instead, they were sent to the land right away.
The lush jungle covered the scorching sun. Blue hybrid fuchsias were blooming all over the place, while fluorescent bugs were flying around the jungle.
“Where’s this?”
“Am I in the game? But I didn’t log into the game?”
“Wasn’t I sleeping in the game?”
Three people were at a loss. They had no idea what had happened.
Suddenly, an exhausted yet sexy voice sounded from the jungle. “This isn’t the game, but the nightmare world. Bro, you sure are ballsy to be sleeping naturally instead of in the gaming pod. Are you trying to sleep for hours?”
The three Orange Planet people turned their heads and yelled, “Who is it?”
A man in a black magician robe walked out of a massive tree. Wright showed his arms. “I’m a player who is just like you guys, stuck in the nightmare. However, I set the system to wake me up three hours later.”
Everyone was shocked upon hearing what the man said.
“This is the nightmare world? Where’s the blue ocean?” Player Comoros said with a suppressed, coquettish voice.
She wore heavy armor with a sword on her waist. Her helmet covered her face, and her style and image did not match her voice. The person in the heavy armor sounded like a young girl.
She looked to her left and right but did not see any ocean at all.
“There was an ocean before, but it’s different now. It has become a land.” Wright looked rather beaten. He had yet to shake off the traumatic experience. He would need a long time to adjust himself. He was not as energetic as he was before when he spoke.
Soon, more humans were sent here.
At that moment, the three players began to believe what Wright said. This should be the nightmare world. Otherwise, it did not make sense for everyone to gather in the same space.
There was no gaming pod system here, nor was there a logout button. Everything looked like real life.
“Listen, the current situation is unclear. I’m not sure if there’s any danger here. Let’s craft some simple weapons, for now, to protect ourselves until we wake up from the dream. We’ll check the news from the institute when we return to the real world to see what the experts say,” Wright said.
Wright, who looked exhausted but spoke elegantly, gave a pretty rational suggestion.
Everyone stopped their uproar and did what he said. They crafted simple weapons to protect themselves. They would figure the rest later since they would return to the real world as soon as they woke up.
There were more and more people appearing in the jungle during the period of time. They had just entered the dream, so they had no idea about the current situation.
Comoros placed her sword on the ground while wearing her helmet. People would look at her heavy armor every now and then.
She sat on the ground with her legs up and then wrapped her arms around her legs.
“Hi, may I ask where you got your equipment?” A man in a t-shirt asked curiously.
Comoros flinched her legs like a scared little bunny.
She only said two seconds later, “I was sleeping in a fantasy game earlier. I ended up being here. I got my equipment from that game.”
The man in the t-shirt exclaimed, “You can bring the game’s equipment here?”
“Yes. I brought the warlock robe that I was wearing in the game here too.” Wright also joined the conversation.
The man in the t-shirt asked immediately, “Does it come with the equipment’s attribute gain?”
The man had a luxury account in the VR game Cultivation. If he could bring his powerful equipment, he would be able to fly and disappear into the ground.
“I have no idea.” Wright shook his head.
The heavy-armored knight lady shook her head. She had never tested that before either. “I’ve no idea as well.”
“Then we should try that since it’s no trouble at all.”
Since they had nothing to do anyway, the duo hesitated and decided to test the equipment’s attributes.
The heavy-armored knight lady waved her long sword and swung it at a tree. The sword sliced ten centimeters deep into the tree.
“Something’s off about the attributes,” Comoros said softly.
“What’s wrong?”
“It was easy to cut trees with my sword in the game before,” Comoros said.
Wright, on the other hand, whistled with his hand.
There was no commotion after waiting for a couple of seconds. Nothing happened at all.
“My warlock robe can summon an eagle. However, there’s no eagle flying over here. I guess the skills and attributes that came with the equipment didn’t come with us.” Wright shook his head.
The man in the t-shirt could not help but feel disappointed hearing that.
It would be interesting if they could bring the skills and attributes along. Unfortunately, the dream did not allow that.
The heavy-armored knight lady was disappointed too. It was too bad that the equipment had no attributes now.
Wright did not dwell on that. He turned his head to say to the people in the jungle, “Quiet down, guys. Who set the system to wake them up in a while? Let me know. Bring the information I gathered to the institute later when you wake up.”
Wright was the first person who had experienced the accelerated change of the desert. What he knew was very important, so it had to be reported to the institute immediately.
Comoros raised her hand and said weakly, “I’ll wake up 18 minutes later.”
Eighteen minutes later, the Orange Planet Institute received the intel. They learned about the major change in the dream world from Comoros, whereby the ocean had turned into a piece of land.
The researchers all over the world panicked. They had yet to find out how the nightmare condition spread, and yet a major change happened to the dream again. It was such a disaster.
A line of fresh red words kept popping up on the projected screen.
It was over 100,000 people before. The number had been updated to 980,000 victims by midnight.
Meanwhile, the 980,000 people were only the number of people who had woken up from the dream.
The victims that were still dreaming and caught the nightmare condition had yet to be recorded in the statistical system.
