Chapter 159: System Level UP!

My quote was so unoriginal that it made me want to dig a hole and bury myself inside it. But then again, I'm already on the verge of death that I don't have to do such things. In any case, even though I felt embarrassed about saying that but I don't regret it the least bit.

I felt the pressure of the Broadaze as it descended towards me but just before it hit my nose, the Broadaxe was suddenly sent crashing towards the far end wall of the room. Amidst the noise of the crash, I heard a low groan coming from the Guardian even though it doesn't have any vocal cords anymore. It was probably because of his body systems failing that it produced such a sound.

And just like that, the overwhelming pressure I felt was gone and I immediately worked on calming my Qi Cores down. I've lost count on how many times my Qi Cores reached such a state. Nevertheless, I'm used to the feeling by now. Even though I'm already this close to death, I still managed to calm myself down and started cultivating.

Seeing the flashing 'Time Remaining' screen in my head, I pursed my lips and realized that there was no time left. I don't know why there's a time limit on the Void Tower but after a few seconds of thinking, I realized something. I realized that the Void Tower is a dungeon and dungeons somewhat exist in the Plane of space and time. That means that they dart from one place and time to another without warning. I've heard of a story where a person from the past hopped in a dungeon and didn't clear it. After spending months in the dungeon and finally clearing it, he came face to face with the future and there was no way for him to go back anymore. After all, a dungeon doesn't show up in the same place and time where they already appeared.

Because of that, I concluded that the time limit was placed by the System to tell me that it's bound to move to another time and space soon.

In my opinion, finding yourself in a different space and time would be really unbearable. It wouldn't even be an understatement to say that if it were to happen to you, it will be worse than death itself.

Unless you found yourself in a time where you can adapt quickly, you'll die very quickly.

Another thing was the place. It's possible that you might find yourself on a different planet or a different Plane altogether. What if you find yourself in the world of the Spirit Beasts? Or maybe the world of the Demons? What if you find yourself on an uninhabited planet that doesn't support life? Even if you're the most powerful cultivator around, you won't survive over there unless you have the element of space and time.

So staying here in the dungeon would be a no-go. I don't know what the time limit is for but there's a huge possibility that it's about the appearance and disappearance of the dungeon.

"Y-Yongrui, are you okay?" White asked. I could hear him struggling but I couldn't really tell if he were really badly hurt or just plain exhausted from the fight.

And well, I don't really have the luxury to open my eyes right now since I don't have the strength to do.

Suddenly, I found myself enclosed in a blanket of warm Qi Energy that helped calm my Qi Cores down. In just mere moments, my Holy Qi Core finally stabilized, pulling me a bit farther from death since the Holy Element revolves around healing. After stabilizing my Holy Qi Core, I promptly activated it so it would heal my body faster.

And thanks to my constitution as part rabid human, my recovery rate is actually increased so I know that I'll be up in no time. The only problems were the Qi Cores since they aren't actually part of my physical constitution.

But after using the Healing Element, I realized that it affects my other Qi Cores as well. In a few seconds, my Qi Cores stabilized a lot quicker than usual. Also, it's thanks to the warm Qi Energy that blanketed me from the outside. It was probably White's doing so I shouldn't forget to thank him later.

In less than fifteen minutes, my Qi Cores went back to their usual state but they were larger than usual. No matter how hard I tried to condense them, they remained a bit larger. In any case, they are already stable so there's no need to force them to shrink for now.

When I opened my eyes, I instantly noticed the unmoving person in front of me. Since I was still a bit dazed, it took me a few more seconds to realize that the person lying down on the ground was, in fact, White. I don't know what happened between him and the Guardian that reduced him to that state. Or maybe, he threw himself at the Broadaxe just so it won't hit me.n Regardless of the matter, he was in a worse state than I am.

I wondered why he still decided to save me when the death of the Guardian was guaranteed. If he were really after the secret to the Ancient Power he was talking about... then wouldn't it be more advantageous for him to leave me to die? He doesn't even know me and I thought he was just using me as a guide.

Turns out such was not the case. I wonder what he was thinking when he tried to keep me alive.

Other than that, I noticed that a panel was shown in front of me. Straight away, I recognized that it was my own Status Panel created by the System. The difference between this System Panel and the Panel in the past was so uncanny but it was for the better. It was obvious that the System underwent some pretty drastic changes.
