Chapter 24.1

Chance encounters were a pain in the ass.

In fact, while Lin Xiao was rushing back to Yunqi Academy, he caught sight of Ling Luo standing in front of a building, where ‘De Ma Er Auction’ was written. He was staring at it with a hesitant expression. He seemed as if he didn’t know whether to step in or not.

Lin Xiao immediately understood what Ling Luo intended to do, which was: to look for a grass or pill which could awake Xuan Ye. Well, this was how it should unfold, according to the plot, Lin Xiao thought.

Actually, the auction indeed possessed a Dan Pill which could nourish souls. However, the price wasn’t low. Unfortunately for Ling Luo, he didn’t have sufficient money to buy it, so the Dan Pill was won for a high digit by a Xuan stage person.

Afterwards, on the way Ling Luo launched a surprise attack… and then… the Dan Pill ended up in his own pocket?… And then… the other person began to talk aggressively because he was being robbed… And lastly, he was being wiped out by Ling Luo, even though the latter’s rank was lower?

Fine. Lin Xiao wasn’t skeptical about the Protagonist Halo anymore. And, since Ling Luo was hesitating and he himself never went to see an auction before, then he might as well enter in ‘De Ma Er Auction’ together with Ling Luo.

Hence, Lin Xiao walked a few steps forward and slightly patted Ling Luo’s shoulder: “Why don’t you get inside the building since you are interested in it?”

Suddenly being touched, the troubled Ling Luo turned his head. He couldn’t help but be shocked when he recognized Lin Xiao: “Lin Xiao? How come you returned so fast? I was  just getting ready to walk inside.”

Lin Xiao ignored his first question, and directly pulled Ling Luo inside ‘De Ma Er Auction’: “Let’s go! I wanted to buy some stuff too!”

Ling Luo: “…” Don’t be so brutal when pulling me inside, Lin Xiao!

‘De Ma Er Auction’ was the closest meeting house of Yunqi Academy. As soon as they stepped in the passage, they met a beauty wearing a cheongsam. When she was about to get near them, Lin Xiao smelled a strong and sweet fragrance… moreover, her face was extremely pretty too. Plus, this maid has cultivated until the Fourth Layer.

Lin Xiao sighed, complimenting the ‘De Ma Er Auction’ organizer for having a cultivated maid, as it was more difficult to find them than looking for beautiful girls.

In fact, not everyone could train qi, especially women. So, for De Ma Er Auction to actually find a girl who was at the Fourth layer of foundation, perhaps not just one at that, was unexpected.

“…Wouldn’t you get frightened to death if you found out that all the auction maids were at Huang stage?” This time, Lin Xiao heard Huangfu Shan’s question, which was full of disdain.

Those things at the Qi stage have been directly left out as they could be seen everywhere and therefore, they weren’t enough worthy to be displayed.
