Chapter 408 - You Are An Honest Person

Lin Fan was a little disappointed. The Alliance dogs weren’t fools. 100 techniques were impossible, and in the end, they weren’t even willing to give him 10. That was just hurtful.

A few techniques didn’t mean much but the key was the trust between humans.

The Alliance dogs had totally hurt his heart.

Pa!

Lin Fan struck Iron Dragon’s head with the back of the blade.

“I am asking you, do you want to die?”

Iron Dragon’s heart suffered from that huge blow and he was immersed in pain and sadness. Lin Fan’s strike caused his entire brain to shake and he nearly blacked out.

He raised his head and looked at Lin Fan.

He wanted to say that as an Alliance nine-star general he didn’t fear death and it was his honor to die for the Alliance.

But if he said that now wouldn’t he just look like a fool?

He was a nine-star general! If he said something else, wouldn’t he lose all his face?

Seeing that he didn’t reply, Lin Fan was annoyed, “I am talking to you. Do you want to live or die?”

Iron Dragon kept silent for a while before replying, “Everyone has the right to live. Those who have the choice but choose to die aren’t worthy of being humans n the next life. Making that choice is a blasphemy of life and you will have to pay the price for it.”

Pa!

Lin Fan smacked Iron Dragon’s head in rage, “Stop saying such useless things. Just tell me whether or not you want to die. What is the point in saying all this nonsense?”

Iron Dragon was a little angry. Although they were from opposing camps, at his age, he could be Lin Fan’s grandfather. His treatment toward him was just so disrespectful.

“I want to live.”

Normally speaking, if one looked deep into their heart, they would find what they wanted the most.

Iron Dragon could tell anyone that he wasn’t someone who was afraid of dying.

But deep down, his answer was different.

At that moment, there was a productive breakthrough on Gou’zi’s side.

Those Alliance members didn’t dare to hide anything anymore.

They revealed the thing about the equipment as well as all the places where they were buried.

Originally, they had some hope.

But since the Alliance Headquarters and even Iron Dragon had given up, what else could they do?

Iron Dragon looked at them and had many things to say. But at this point, he really didn’t know what to say.

It didn’t make sense to say that they betrayed the Alliance Headquarters. After all, the Alliance Headquarters gave up on them.

Gou’zi left the room to dig up those things.

Over at the Alliance Headquarters, Chi Xiao was hesitating. He closed the video to express that Alliance Headquarters wasn’t planning to compromise.

But now, there wasn’t much time left.

Chi Xiao was prepared to have a good chat with Lin Fan. Some things depended solely on negotiation.

The fact that Lin Fan needed nine-star general cultivation techniques meant that they had a breakthrough point. He could use that to convince Lin Fan.

Chi Xiao clicked on the screen.

“Outside range of server.”

“???”

Chi Xiao was confused. It was okay just now, but why was it like this now?

“General, the signal at Valley City disappeared.” An Alliance member reported the situation.

There was only one explanation for the loss of the signal which was that the people over at Valley City revealed where the equipment was hidden and the enemy had destroyed it.

“They have actually betrayed the Alliance.” Chi Xiao’s face was dark and sunken with rage. He was confident in the Alliance members and thought that no matter what kind of dangers they faced, they wouldn’t betray them. But it seemed like he was just overthinking it.

Xiao Hu said, “Actually, we can’t blame them.”

Switching off the video represented the fact that the Alliance Headquarters had given up on them. Weren’t their actions expected?

“How can we not blame them? They are such cowards. If it was me, even if I was tortured to death, I wouldn’t betray the Alliance.” Chi Xiao said confidently.

When Xiao Hu saw how serious Chi Xiao was, for some reason, he actually hoped that Chi Xiao would end up in such a situation just to see how he would react.

He was actually quite curious.

He shook his head and tossed such impractical thoughts to the back of his mind.

“We need to report this to the Alliance Headquarters. Lin Wanyi’s son has appeared in Valley City and this is very practical news. We can send experts over to investigate where he is.” Xiao Hu said.

“Eh.”

Chi Xiao nodded his head and agreed. However, his heart was filled with rage. Each time he thought about Lin Fan’s face, he became extremely furious.

Within the inn, Lin Fan lifted Iron Dragon’s chin. He looked really weird but it didn’t matter as he was about to have a good chat with him.

He couldn’t get any techniques from Chi Xiao but he could try to get some from Iron Dragon.

After all, he was Dao Realm stage two.

No matter what, he had to have some secret techniques, right?

Iron Dragon was filled with a sense of humiliation. Damn, he actually fell to this kid.

“You have only two options in front of you. One is to die and the other is to tell me all the Dao Realm techniques that you have learned and I’ll let you live.” Lin Fan said.

Iron Dragon looked at Lin Fan and after hesitating for a while, he still didn’t know whether to trust him or not.

However, the situation now was really obvious.

No matter whether he believed him or not, he only had those few choices. If he chose death, he would definitely die. The second option posed a 50% possibility of death.

Should he have taken the gamble?

Any normal person would have.

“Lin Fan, to have such cultivation at such a young age, you are a dragon amongst men. This world won’t be able to stop you. Maybe the Alliance might just be a small test for you in life.”

“I just entered this place from Alliance land and have never killed a native, nor have I killed any one of you.”

“So, I choose the second option.”

Iron Dragon’s expression was solemn like he had made a huge decision. He really didn’t want to die and held that last bit of hope. But he wasn’t sure whether or not Lin Fan could be trusted. Was he just lying?

Lin Fan was satisfied with Iron Dragon’s choice. “You don’t need to write it down, just describe it.”

The technique he lacked was from Dao Realm. Although other techniques made sense, for his current cultivation, Dao Realm techniques were much better.

The merging function was really decent.

He could merge two cultivation techniques into one, and at the same time, he could raise the grade of a technique.

But some techniques couldn’t be improved like Domain Realm ones.

Maybe he was lacking something.

Iron Dragon cultivated a total of two Dao Realm techniques. They were ones he had gotten from the Alliance Headquarters when he became a nine-star general.

Lin Fan realized that the techniques that the Alliance trained in were not much different from them.

Was this the case of how martial arts were similar? Or that all martial arts were based on the same thing?

Of course, no one studied that, so no one knew when martial arts had started. It was as if it had always naturally existed.

Lin Fan was satisfied. He had gained two techniques from nowhere. As for the Alliance, that was such a waste and the negotiation wasn’t successful.

If it was, he could have solved his problem regarding the lack of techniques.

“Can you let us leave now?” Iron Dragon asked.

Lin Fan squinted as he looked at Iron Dragon and the people around. He was thinking about whether or not to let them go.

The Alliance’s survival brought them many problems. Many of their people who weren’t afraid to die went to fight against the Alliance and died as a result.

Deep down he didn’t want to.

But since he agreed, it would be despicable if he went back on his word.

As a rich family Young Master, Lin Fan’s character was definitely okay.

“Okay, I will let all of you leave but before that, I have to do something.”

The moment he said this, Lin Fan’s Dao patterns appeared and surged into his body. They shattered Iron Dragon’s Dao patterns and turned him into a useless person.

“You…”

Iron Dragon raised his head and looked at Lin Fan in disbelief. At the same time, he was furious. Didn’t this mean that he was no different from a mortal?

Lin Fan glanced and said calmly, “Don’t be unhappy. I wanted to kill you but since I agree, then I won’t go against my word. I shall remove your cultivation in case you hurt more people.”

A Dao Realm expert was shockingly destructive.

If he really wanted to cause damage, he would be able to destroy a city in the blink of an eye.

“We are so weak, so there is no need to do so, right?” The Alliance members said.

They weren’t strong and they felt like it was no different whether or not their cultivation was trashed.

“I promised that if you told me where the equipment was, I would let all of you live.” Lin Fan said and nodded towards Gou’zi.

Gou’zi understood, instantly attacking and killing those people.

Iron Dragon saw this and exclaimed, “Didn’t you say that you would let them live?”

Lin Fan said, “Gou’zi, what are you doing?”

“Young Master, I wasn’t paying attention,” Gou’zi said innocently.

Lin Fan sighed, “Forget it then. After all, you can’t revive the dead. I can’t ask you to kill yourself for forgiveness too.”

Iron Dragon opened his mouth and didn’t know how to reply. He wanted to say something but he felt like his body had lost all strength. He was powerless and his hands draped down. He understood that they were just meat on the chopping board. Even if they wanted to resist, they could only shout and scream.

To Lin Fan, he could let Iron Dragon live but those tech members had to die. Without cultivation, Iron Dragon was like a useless person, but if the tech people lost their cultivation, their skills still existed and they could still serve the Alliance.

Being merciful and letting enemies live wasn’t his style.

“Gou’zi, pack up and let’s go.” Lin Fan pushed open the door and left the inn. As for Gou’zi, he packed up the Alliance’s items and followed behind.

Lin Fan was still afraid in the end.

With his location revealed, if the Alliance headquarters sent people over, then that would be a huge problem. As such, it was best if he left right away.

Pata!

Iron Dragon laid paralyzed on the ground. His body was devoid of strength. He had never felt this feeling before and he knew that he was now no different from a mortal. Even if he returned to the Alliance, no one would be willing to treat him well. No one would even care about him.

To Iron Dragon, what he had to worry about now was not how to return to the Alliance, but how to pay for the broken wall.
