Chapter 2

The servant just kept crying out for Lady Armel until now.

For a few minutes, she circled around the child, shouting her name, and there was finally a response.

Armel was cold when I felt her forearm.

‘Ah. Blood pressure…’

Was it wrong to curse the author?

Of course I could be wrong, but…

She seems to be just fine!

As if she didn’t care (actually, she didn’t care), Armel prepared to go out.

I had nothing to do when I was left in her room, so I decided to follow Armel.

If I go out and walk around, wouldn’t at least one person be able to see me? I hoped so.

Twisting my legs to float in the air, I followed Armel.

~*~

Until now, moving from place to place, none of the people I met correctly saw my shape.

Not even one!

At first glance, there were people who noticed that there was something around or barely heard my voice, but most of them thought that it was their mistake and passed it lightly.

‘This is a big deal.’

If I go on like this, I will surely die of loneliness.

‘No, I’m already a soul, so is loneliness an inappropriate expression?’

I could see a majestic castle that I could only see in a photo, but the girl’s eyes were drenched in worry.

“The prince did not come to this birthday banquet… Actually, maybe he didn’t like it?”

“No way! Who else would he pay attention to other than you?”

“But I get rejected every time…”

By inferring the conversation, Armel’s age seems to be 13.

‘Armel was the same age as the female lead.’

The original work began with the point of view of the 18-year-old female protagonist, so there are about five years left until the start of the original work.

Do I have to walk around lonely like this? It was terrible just imagining it.

“Someone! Anyone! Look at me! Talk to me!”

There was no response even if I screamed like a seed of interest or danced recklessly in front of them.

“It’s windy today.”

Still, Armel, who was smiling while covering herself up, was so lovely that my anxious heart calmed down.

“You’re cute even when you cover yourself up with clothes! Today, the prince will smile too.”

“I hope so… The prince didn’t even allow me to call his name.”

“It’s because he’s shy.”

If you look closely, this person next to Armel is the servant from earlier, right?

I turned my head away from them chattering and fell into thoughts.

The novel begins when the protagonist, at the age of 18, meets the male lead, the 19-year-old Crown Prince, at a banquet hall. Therefore, I knew little about the original characters from their childhood.

‘You’re going to meet the male lead now.’

I found the advantage of being a ghost for the first time.

If I had a body right now, I wouldn’t know how to greet the male protagonist with fists. I won’t have to be taken away for assault on the imperial family, so how lucky I am.

In the distance, I saw him sitting in a garden surrounded by roses.

A straight back and posture. A face that looks sharp despite being a child.

‘Blue hair and green eyes. That guy is the male lead.’

The male lead is different from the usual setting in which members of the imperial family are born with blonde hair.

Because of that, it was a setting where people around looked at him harshly, but to my eyes, he had good-looking hair.

“It has been a while since we last met. I am…”

“No need.”

He looked at me and didn’t care for Armel, whose face brightened up.

My eyes met with his, who turned his head away from Armel with indifferent eyes.

‘Are your eyes looking at me?’

Eye contact!

“Who is that, who doesn’t even bow her head?”

“What do you mean?”

Armel looked in the direction the prince’s finger was pointing. The prince’s finger pointed straight at me.

Even if I looked around, other people couldn’t see me, so the servants who had their heads bowed were surprised and bowed their heads more deeply.

In line with Armel’s stride, he approached me.

“Can you see me?”

How exciting. Is it possible to have a conversation for the first time? The male protagonist, whom I didn’t like, suddenly looked cute.

“Ahhh!”

The chair he was sitting on tipped back.

“Ahhh! Prince!”

Oh, how many times have I heard screams today?

People gathered next to the prince who had fallen to the floor.

Even in the midst of a roaring commotion, his scream among Armel’s servants was truly unique. A voice as sharp as a siren.

It was a scream that woke even the dead. Waking up a stunned person would have been easier.

Wherever he had gone, the way he was holding on to his coolness was like a fawn looking for its mother.

I thought about the mental health of the child and decided to hide away a bit.

“I, there…”

Armel was covering him with a blanket with a concerned look.

The child wrinkled his face and took over her blanket.

Why is that guy accepting other people’s favors with such an expression?

The male lead turned his head around looking for me.

“Did no one see? Her legs and fingertips are transparent!”

Even at the prince’s words, the people around him only shook their heads.

The male lead exhaled as if relieved, then spoke.

“I’m going to finish here today, so let’s part ways.”

When the prince left, Armel continued to look behind him in regret.

Which of the two should I follow?

‘I have to follow the prince, right?’

My mental power was consumed more than expected to attract attention while performing a live show between Armel and her servants, who can’t see me.

I sighed heavily and followed the male lead’s still trembling little back.

But something was strange.

‘Why doesn’t anyone ask if he’s okay?’

Then there was the sound of laughter. One of the servants covered her mouth, the other pressed playfully on another servant’s shoulder.

The male lead moved more quickly as if he didn’t hear them. He crossed the vast castle and entered his room.

All alone, the prince leaned his back against the door and slid down on the floor.

“Obviously, I saw it…”

With a sigh that sounded like pain, the child crouched down and hugged his legs.

‘What am I looking at?’

Have I misunderstood the novel I possessed?

After a while, he got up from the spot.

‘He’s going to fall over there.’

As I finished my thoughts, the child’s head plummeted to the floor.

“Hey, be careful!”

Ugh.

The child quickly rolled his body, lessening his impact on me.

“Hey! I saw you before!”

It was impressive to see him pointing with his mouth wide open enough to show his adam’s apple.

“Hey… Calm down and listen to me, Prince.”

“Y-you…”

“I didn’t come here to do anything bad.”

“…”

The conversation did not take place.

Even if it’s me, I’ll get scared when a ghost I’m not familiar with talks to me.

I raised my hands high to show that I had no intention of attacking.

“Follow me. Inhale, exhale.”

Hee, hoo.

The prince did not seem to understand the situation, but he followed me and breathed slowly.

Hee, hoo.

I don’t know if this is the correct breathing technique, but it worked.

“Come on, let’s slowly lower those fingers.”

The prince wiggled his fingers, which had been pointing at me.

“That’s right, that’s good.”

I want to stroke his hair, but if I do, that little prince may faint again.

I waited as if I was dealing with a vigilant cat.

“You, you, what are you?”

“…”

“Ah, ah.”

‘Is that kid really the male lead in the novel I read?’

The keywords of indifference, arrogance, and coldness were not even close to this pathetic, fussy boy.

Is this the long-awaited past before the change?

It was the past I was so curious about, but I didn’t want to know it this way.

‘What is it that he’s the only one who can see me?’

A child’s tears are reflected in the light and glisten like shattered pieces of jewelry.

‘What’s wrong with him?’

A thought ran through my mind.

‘Ah!’

Could this be the plot of the author who put me here? I should have no sympathy for this little, fragile male protagonist!

As a good proof of that, I’m losing my animosity towards the future bastard…

“I asked, answer me!”

Yep, that’s it.

“Isn’t it polite to introduce yourself first and then ask?”

“I, I am the prince of this empire! Take an example! How dare you ignore me!”

The prince spat out.

“Trash!”

“You were the first to argue.”

There was no consideration for the disrespectful boy.

“Look at this.”

The feet attached to the ground were floated in the air, giving off a ghostly appearance. I tap-danced with the transparent ghost legs, demonstrating my dazzling footwork.

“Huh, huh!”

The prince let out a strange noise and at the same time collapsed on the floor.

“Hello?”

He had passed out and had no reaction.

‘It’s ruined.’

The keywords here for the male protagonist of the novel are indifference, harshness, coolness, and regret.

The keyword should be seizure.
