[Quest Complete]

[Rewarded: Skill of Night Mask]

Shika looked at the reward that she obtained, sighing in relief. Her Quest had only been to prevent Ianon and Dwun from fighting. So, she had achieved that beforehand. But, the Night Ranger System had generated her a second Quest.

And, that was to fight against Dwun for a total of three days. She had finally managed to complete it and had been awarded the Skill of Night Mask and an increase to her attributes, especially her Vital Energy. Her combusted attributes were also replenished, causing her to heave a sigh in relief.

She felt her body becoming stronger, smiling as a result, "Even though I wasted a lot of resources, I've become stronger. I can simply gather more resources after this."

She had the dimensional storage to rely upon, having stored a lot of her necessities there. She then conversed with her System a little before looking around from atop an apartment.

She was curious about this place because she sensed a lot of people living here, and they were alive and well-fed even.

As it was close to the place she battled, she arrived here, wondering just what was up with the place.

Curiosity had to be resolved. After all, when she had done the same before, even though she faced some risks, in the end, she reaped significant benefits from the exchange.

'My mutated beasts all died. So, I'll have to find new ones.' She sighed. Even though she had some more orbs in her dimensional storage, they weren't her priority for use. She didn't like the abilities they provided.

'But, if this place has something surprising…' She thought, smiling. It was the only way she could calm herself for losing track of the Spydragons.

Even though she had branded her Stigma on them, allowing her to track their locations from anywhere, after they moved far away from her, they vanished mysteriously, surprising her.

Left with no other choice, she looked around for some resources when she noticed an apartment with a lot of people, more than what there was in an entire area.

The apartment complex had eight apartment buildings. And, all of them were full of people, as if everyone that had lived there managed to survive. This shouldn't have been possible, given the threat of the Grassmen, ants, and mosquitoes.

It was not to mention the scarcity of food and other resources.

Thanks to the cover of the night, Shika managed to reach the roof of one of the buildings, gazing around from there, surprised when she noticed quite the number of people being posted in the apartment's clubhouse.

The clubhouse consisted of an open hall for parties, an attached gym, an indoor game area, a badminton court, and a swimming pool at the bottom-most floor. And, judging by the stream of workers heading to and fro from the bottom-most floor, Shika determined that the secret of this place lay there.

'Hmm, what exactly is her dimensional storage?' Hiding within her space all along was Compass Carburettor, listening to the conversation between her and the Night Ranger System.

Moreover, when saw the stats window displayed before her, thanks to being connected to all her senses, Compass Carburettor too observed her stats. This way, he obtained an accurate judgement of her abilities.

But, it also made him wonder about something.

Her dimensional storage. It wasn't displayed on her stats, confusing him. And, since Shika didn't express any oddity in her emotions, it meant that something was amiss here.

Did she somehow possess such an ability on her own? Or was it related to something else? Anyway, he was confused about it.

Moreover, he didn't have a chance to leave her. Just appearing beside her abruptly would just startle her. Moreover, he was behaving as if Compass Carburettor had been killed by the Systems already.

So, he didn't wish for them to be alerted by his survival. That would make them realise that he had the means to cheat death.

He didn't wish for his cards to be revealed this early into the game, especially since he had only killed two Systems in this world.

His plan with Shika and Dwun was simple. Since Dwun loved to fight, he had made arrangements in such a way that Dwun would become a Grassmen.

He wasn't assured if it would work. But, he had already laid down the foundation for that: a secluded patch of grass, young in its growth, small in size, and Dwun whose space was destroyed.

Moreover, System Hosts typically created miracles like they were part of a Friday sale. So, he had hoped for Dwun to do the same too. And as he had expected, Dwun had taken the chance to become a Grassmen.

After Shika left the place, Dwun climbed out of the vertical tunnel too, accompanying the bunch of Grassmen under his control as he headed out in search of strong foes to battle.

Now, he had become a proper variable that might mess up the plans of the Systems at any time. Thanks to becoming a Grassmen, he had endless vitality and regeneration, the perfect fit for a battle addict like him.

So, it could be said for sure that the moment he found a System Host, he would fight them until there ended up a victor.

As for Shika, he was only using her as a mobile transport now, directing her actions from time to time using his Spydragons.

Thanks to their mysterious nature, she followed after them whenever they appeared.

'Unfortunately, I'm only able to hear Shika's surface thoughts and her conversation with her System. If only I could hear the Night Ranger System's conversation in the Astral Network.' He sighed in pity.

But, he was still glad to have obtained such impressive power, allowing him to spy upon the details shared between a System and its Host.

Moreover, as he was connected to all her senses, he was able to feel her emotions, the change in her hormones whenever something happened, etc.

Everything allowed him to understand her character to a greater extent, making him appreciate Dita's power more and more.

'It was worth it to sacrifice a box full of Spydragons to get this ability.. Now that I reached Transcendence, I don't have use for those inferior Spydragons anyway.'
