“She’s fine. I just wanted her to go through a thorough medical assessment! After all, none of us knew what sort of life she had been living before this. I thought that it’d be best for her to get tested, just in case, you know?”
Song Qingwan originally wanted the doctors to perform the checkup at their mansion.
The Lu Family had their own medical team, in which there were a couple of personal physicians.
But Lu Li needed to do a full medical checkup.
Many of the tests require highly-complex equipment that could only be found at the hospital.
It would be a waste of time and manpower to transfer said equipment over to their mansion, so it made more sense to send Lu Li to the hospital instead.
If there were any new discoveries, or if they needed to vaccinate her, they could just do it there in the hospital.
Song Qingwan thought to herself for a moment before she said, “Once you’re done with her checkup, and if there’s still time to spare, do bring her along for a psychological assessment.”
“…”
She raised Lu Junhan and his little sister herself, so she was fairly knowledgable when it came to raising a child. “We’ll let her have an IQ test and get her mental health evaluated. These are very important tests since they will directly affect Lili’s school registration later on.”
Lu Junhan frowned and replied, “How troublesome.”
Song Qingwan pretended as if she didn’t hear what he said as she moved on, “I have already scheduled an appointment with the doctor who will perform the checkup. You can head straight for his office once you’ve arrived with Lili at the hospital. As for the psychological assessment, I advise you to find someone trustworthy, since it involves an assessment of Lili’s private life!”
“Alright,” Answered Lu Junhan. “I will bring her there when I am free. I still have things to…”
Lu Junhan was going to rearrange his schedule. He had been very busy lately and didn’t have the time to take care of extra problems.
However, before he could hang up the call, he suddenly remembered the little girl saying how she wanted to sever another man’s hand without even batting an eye. That memory made his frown worsen instantly.
Perhaps, he really should bring her to a psychologist.
A girl should not even have such dark thoughts, let alone a mere toddler.
He wondered if she could get married in the future.
Lu Junhan did not notice it, but he was starting to worry about his daughter’s future just like how a normal father would.
“Very well. Wait for me to get back.”
Song Qingwan, “…”
‘Perhaps you could sigh a little less loudly?’ Song Qingwan thought to herself. She was on the brink of lashing out against him for putting up such a foul attitude whenever they started talking about her precious Lili.
…
Despite how much luck she had given to her daddy, she still wondered if it was enough.
The little girl with twin tails was sitting on the stone steps outside the mansion. From time to time, she would glance up at the gate, but every single time, there’d be nobody there. Not a single soul had passed by that gate the entire time she had been sitting there.
She stared at it for a very, very long time. Gradually, her soul felt as if it was being sapped away from her tiny frame, and that was reflected by the look in her eyes.
‘Looks like Daddy is really busy today…’
However, in the next second, she seemed to have heard something coming from afar. Hastily getting up on her feet, she looked out into the horizon with a pair of dark eyes that seemed to glitter.
“Auntie, is that Daddy’s car?”
The little girl was still in a state of disbelief.
Her daddy had never come back so early before.
Sometimes he would only return home after she fell asleep.
She was getting frustrated at how infrequent they were able to stay together on any given day.
Song Qingwan gave her a head pat and smiled, “Of course. Who else could it be?”
As they were talking, a tall and slender man exited his vehicle. As usual, his handsome face exuded a frigid demeanor.
The little girl looked at him and her beautiful beady eyes widened. She yelled out in wonder as she happily ran towards her daddy. She proceeded to throw herself affectionately into his arms.
“Daddy, you’re home! I’ve missed you so much!”
Lu Junhan initially thought that it was irrational of him for prioritizing this little thing’s health over his own work. There was even a point in his journey home where he was about to tell his driver to turn around and get him back to his office.
But now, when he saw the light in Lu Li’s eyes, and her joyous little face, he realized that…it was actually worth it.
He patted her head with his large palms and mumbled a quiet response.
Maybe Song Qingwan was about to bring her to the hospital herself, as the little girl had already been dressed up properly for her trip to the hospital.
Her hair had been tied up and forming two cute and simple bunches. The silken hair tie and her knee-level dress were both the same shade of bright pink. The color of her dress highlighted how bright the little girl’s face was, just like a delicate little flower bud. That contrasted well with her long and dark eyelashes. In other words, she was absolutely gorgeous.
She really was like a little princess.
