Xu Ciye was astonished.

Like father like daughter, it seems. One was even more undependable than the other.

Lu Junhan’s facial expression remained static when compared to Xu Ciye, who was choking up.

He turned to Xu Ciye and without changing his demeanor, he said, “She’s three.”

“No, not three!”

The little girl started to get visibly nervous when she realized her daddy wasn’t paying close attention to what she said. She tugged at his pants, and then said with her soft, bubbly voice, “Daddy, it’s 300. Not three! You’ve misheard it!”

When she was three, she was still a big fat, white-colored fish egg.

Lu Junhan paid her no heed. He stared at Xu Ciye as he told him, “Write it down. She’s three.”

“…”

Lu Li was at a loss for words.

Alright, three it was.

After all, daddy was only 25 years old.

They could only proceed to the assessment part after Xu Ciye was done filling in her basic information.

There weren’t any problems with the psychological report.

The little girl had an optimistic and kind personality, and she was a very good girl. Mentally-speaking, she couldn’t be any healthier.

As for her taste for violence, Xu Ciye couldn’t pinpoint the cause of such a peculiar symptom, if it existed at all.

He showed her gore-filled footage obtained during wartime, stuff that was far more than what children her age could handle.

However, the little girl failed to show any interest in these videos.

After that, he showed her scenes from movies that were similar to Lu Junhan’s description of the little incident in his study. Still, they failed to elicit any sort of reaction from the girl.

What surprised Xu Ciye was how well she was able to stomach these scenes. She didn’t seem remotely afraid while watching the blood-filled scenes. Be that as it may, she still didn’t act like how Lu Junhan had described when she was in his study, yelling how she wanted to chop off another man’s hand without hesitation.

On the contrary, she especially liked pretty dolls and cute little animals.

Every time Xu Ciye showed her various pictures of animals, the little girl would become so excited as if she had just met her family relatives.

If it wasn’t because of Lu Junhan pulling her back, she might even have pounced over the psychologist’s desk to get a closer look at the photos.

Her reaction was the most intense when she was shown a picture of the Red Koi Fish, which was incidentally Hai City’s lucky mascot. The little girl beamed as she tugged on Lu Junhan’s hand. In an overjoyed tone, she said to him, “Daddy, daddy! That’s Lili!”

Xu Ciye turned and stared at her with a puzzled expression, “?”

Lu Junhan whispered to Xu Ciye, “I suspect that she’s been watching too many animated cartoons, maybe that’s why she still thinks that she’s a Koi Fish.”

“…” Xu Ciye had gone through this phase before, so he understood where Lu Junhan was coming from.

“Such a phenomenon is actually quite normal. Especially when she’s at this age. I gotta admit, the imagination of a child is simply out-of-this-world. Children often imagine themselves as little princesses, fairies… but a Koi Fish? Now that’s rare. But no need to worry, she’ll turn out alright when she gets older…”

“Daddy!”

Xu Ciye had just finished speaking when the little girl started jumping excitedly again. Her little finger pointed at a picture on the big screen. She whispered into Lu Junhan’s ears, “Daddy, I see you too!”

It was a picture of an Arctic Wolf.

The wolf was white, and it walked alone through a snowy field. Its black, predatory eyes were cold and sharp, sending chills down the bones of those who dared to look at it.

It was as if it would leap out from the screen and sink its teeth into their soft, fleshy necks at any moment.

Xu Ciye glanced at him, then at the prideful Arctic Wolf. He stroked his chin and said with an amused expression, “To tell you the truth, Little Lili has a good eye. It does look a lot like you!”

With that, he smiled and said to the little girl, “Come, dear and tell me, what animal do you think uncle looks like?”

Lu Junhan’s phone rang in the middle of Xu Ciye’s conversation with Lu Li.

Originally, he wanted to reject it until he glanced down at the Caller ID. It was his personal assistant, Mr. Chen.

He made a gesture to Xu Ciye before exiting the room.

Before Lu Li could shake her head and say that she didn’t know what kind of animal he resembled, a small, white figure entered her line of sight.

“Kitty!”

The little girl’s eyes beamed with excitement as she smiled.

It was a white cat with soft and snowy fur, so pure that it almost seemed sterile. Its eyes were blue-colored, just like the azure sky. It looked especially cute with all the fluff on its body.

Xu Ciye couldn’t be more familiar with that cat.

If that cat’s here, it must mean that the little brat’s here too!

His eyes widened as he was about to warn Lu Li against touching the cat!

But it was too late. The little girl had already bent over and picked up the fluffy white cat, who had just stumbled into Xu Ciye’s office.

In the next moment, she was laughing cheerfully as she held the cat.

She couldn’t be any happier than this.
