Chapter 263

A few lies had been thrown into what Noah had told Adrian, but among them was “The damage to Eleonora’s soul is too severe, so she can’t be brought back to life even by the dragon’s power.”

Well, there is nothing Muell cannot do. Unless it consisted of creating things that did not exist in this world, the power exerted by the dragon’s magic was transcendent.

Having been away from her body for almost two years, it was purely thanks to Muell’s resonance that Eleonora’s soul, which should have already been on the trajectory of ceasing to exist, was able to return safely to its original body.

Then in the same vein, it was said that Eleonora can open her eyes from her body as Noah could. If only she had Muell’s help.

The reason why Noah hadn’t instilled that hope in Adrian was that he didn’t have a reason to meet Eleonora for the next fifty years.

Yesterday, Noah had returned Eleonora’s soul to her body in Muell’s subspace. In the process, she had gone through a little ‘experiment’. Having been inspired by the second stage of the replica project Eleonora and Adrian had researched, it was the fourth stage of Noah’s project. That’s why the nucleus she had handed to Adrian was just an empty shell.

Using the dragon’s magic for support, the damaged soul inside of it had been returned to her original body, and the moment she opened her eyes again was drawing near.

All around the space was calm, chilly. Noah smacked her lips.

“Eleonora, get up.”

Her tightly closed eyelids flinched. Before long, the eyelids slowly opened up, and the strangely colored grayish-blue eyes appeared so slowly that they made Noah anxious.

Eleonora Asil had opened her eyes.

Her eyes and Noah’s met in the middle. Noah flashed a grin at the once brain-dead witch who’d woken up through a miracle.

“Hello.”

That was all. A strong whirlwind blew in.

Hadn’t Eleonora said she was as good at pure magic as Adrian? It was never an exaggeration that she created such a sensation even while surrounded by the dragon’s power.

However, Noah had expected it. She hadn’t even thought from the beginning that Eleonora would obey her as soon as she opened her eyes. This safety net was enough. The gust was gradually eaten away by Muell’s magic. The wind slowly stopped. Even the research lab which had shaken like an earthquake had occurred had found its stability again.

For now, there is nothing wrong with Eleonora Asil’s magic powers.

Noah’s eyes which had been closed from the forceful winds were now open. There she was, on the experiment chair in the middle of the research lab; a woman sitting arrogantly with one leg crossed over the other, studying Noah.

“Hello.”

It was a reply a few seconds too late. She didn’t ask who Noah was. Since there was no one in Laurent who didn’t know Eleonora, Noah thought she was just one of the countless people who knew her.

The real Eleonora was completely different from when Noah was in her body.

Noah originally knew that Eleonora gave a coy and arrogant impression like a cat, but after seeing her open her eyes, she could never be compared to such a cute animal. If Noah really had to compare her to an animal, she was closer to a tiger than a cat.

In fact, Eleonora had been a mechanical designer and engineer before a magician. Contrary to her slender body line and splendid appearance, she emitted the unique character of someone handling scrap metal and tools.

“I’ll ask one thing.” Eleonora tilted her head after looking Noah up and down. “Do you want to explain to me why I am wearing this horrific outfit?”

Come to think of it, what she had on were a worn-out men’s shirt and torn-up blue overalls. It was the work outfit worn by miners in Novischosha. The reason she was wearing that was that that was the last thing Noah had worn on the final day she was in that body.

Eleonora lifted her scrawny arms and started to look at them closely.

“I have no muscles.”

“Oh, uh…”

“Why am I so scrawny? At this rate, I won’t even be able to lift a screwdriver.”

That’s because Noah had lived carelessly in that body. She had suffered from malnourishment and stumbled upon quite a few places.

Noah felt sorry for Eleonora, who didn’t suit the situation. Noah should never ever reveal to her that she had lived in that body for two years.

“…well. It’s good for a body that woke up after almost dying.” Fortunately, Eleonora, who closely observed her body, seemed to have come to a reasonable conclusion in her own way. “So where is this place?”

Though very grumpy, she still didn’t ask who Noah was. When Noah didn’t respond, she looked Noah up and down once again then jumped down lightly from the experiment chair.

“Seeing that this is a research lab, this must be the Ministry of Magic. If I was discovered passed out, I would’ve been taken home, but why did you bring me here?”
