Laurent’s fortress was largely a business-like and solemn place. Since it is the workplace of about 1,000 imperial government officials who work day and night for the welfare of the people, quietness and consideration are the basic principles.
Furthermore, the high-ranking figures who move Laurent came in and out dozens of times a day, carrying gossip. He had to face a minimum salary cut, suspension, and the most severe punishment of dismissal. Internal regulations were also severe to meet the prestige of Laurent’s Ruby, the pivot that moved Laurent the Great.
These days, however, the Imperial palace was suffering from an unprecedented headache once a week.
The main culprit was obvious. The person is someone who doesn’t care about the dignity of the royal court. It could only be one person, who had been in hiding for two years. She was a witch who had just grandly returned to the capital city with a dragon she has been raising.
Official duties of Laurent were temporarily suspended every Tuesday and Thursday, as this was when the two visited the imperial palace. The reason being that it was impossible to concentrate on work because of the explosions from the Magic Department building.
“Ellie, you have lost your memory and became such a fool. What on earth are you thinking about with your little head?”
“When I see your face, I want to break it, what’s it to you?”
As usual, Noah had wrecked the magical building whilst having such a thrilling conversation, and as they often did, the other official officers on duty had gotten up quickly and left.
The magical building that Eleonora and Muel occupied had already been damaged so much that it was hard to recognize. This meant that naturally, all the work of the magic department was put on hold.
“Don’t look down on me. I’m a girl who can be more radical than you think. It seems like you are trying to tame me by using these restraints, but there is no way… Ouch!”
He said, “You can’t see the magic when you kick the ball.”
All the employees of the Ministry of Magic had huddled behind the pillars of the hall and watched the scene of a tied-up Eleonora being dragged by Adrian. Even though Elenora seemed to be complaining furiously, the minister did not look bothered.
“You know, the Baroness has a bad personality, too.”
“Yeah. And whilst she’s at it, I bet she would like to break our office, too.”
Curiously, Eleonora had restored the building she had smashed on Tuesday after her class. She had apologised, she even pushed down the little dragon’s head in apology.
So the employees, who at first ran away in panic, gradually adapted, and now a week and a half later, everyone was secretly waiting for Tuesday and Thursday. This was because they didn’t have to work on those days if the office was damaged. (TL:They’re so shameless OMG ED:Totally shameless….can I join them? )
“The Magic Department hasn’t been destroyed yet.” Today, after muttering that he wanted the Baroness to visit his office, Kevin, a worker, was dragged in.
Originally, office workers got paid even if they didn’t work. The Department of Magic is well known for that, as well as the workers not having to work overtime. So to the workers, Eleonora’s disturbances were a way for them to take a break.
Moreover, the battle between Minister Adrian Rossinel and Eleonora Asil was quite exciting.
“OK, I’m sorry. I’m not going to rebel. So can you untie this rope?”
“Even if you say sorry with that face, it doesn’t affect me at all, so hurry up and start walking. At this rate, I don’t think you will be able to leave by this evening.”
It wasn’t Eleonora who was embarrassed by the minister’s voice, but the people who were watching the pair.
‘What are you two doing in the room until evening?’
‘Was it a dramatic reunion of lovers who broke up fighting in front of the imperial palace? A battle romance filled with love and hatred!’
Isn’t it a very stimulating relationship like a romance novel that is very popular in the capital!
The door slammed shut as Adrian and Eleonora-who was still tightly tied up, entered the minister’s office. A short time later, a small child appeared from the other side of the corridor, as he ran out in a clumsy, occasional trot.
The wizards hiding behind the pillar held their breath quickly.
In fact, Eleonora wasn’t the one who was really scary. The child with black curly hair and dark red eyes, the cute kid with chubby cheeks, was the scary one.
“Noah?”
He looked like an innocent child snooping around here and there calling for his owner (ED: Owner or parent?? A child has a parent, not an owner but he’s a dragon so…) who had disappeared, but they got chills down their spines when they saw the black tail fluttering near his tailbone.
The dragon, called Muel, walked through the hallway and called out for Noah, he then made a sudden turn and approached the pillar where the wizards were hiding.
‘Hyiikk.’
Trey, a member of the Magic Invention Department that was hiding behind a pillar, managed to hold onto his breakfast when he saw the dragon looking up at him whilst standing nearby. He succeeded in directing a public official’s smile at the boy.
“What’s going on, Muel?”
“Where is Noah?”
“Eleonora’s in the Minister’s Office over there. Those two big doors over there.”
“Thank you.”
The young dragon has become much gentler and polite recently compared to how he was when he first came to the imperial palace. The dragon bowed cutely and ran back. Then the dragon was lifted up by someone.
‘Hick!’
The attention of the wizards quickly turned towards the man who had dared to lift the dragon. Shocked breaths were heard.
The man who just appeared was a famous celebrity in the imperial city, as well as recently attracting the attention of royal court officials along with Eleonora and Adrian.
‘He’s the head of the Investigation Bureau!’
