Chapter 31: Two Dragon Masters
After a deliberate contemplation, Kyle Leonard discussed with Park Noah the possibilities regarding the irregularities of the mana flowing within her body.
“There are two possibilities that are most plausible that I can think as of now.” Kyle Leonard began. “First, assuming that the claim that you are not Eleonora Asil is indeed true…”
“I did not lie.” Park Noah interrupted, glowering at him.
“If you could show me any other evidence or perhaps bring me a witness, I’d believe it without reservation. Anyway, assuming your claim is true, the cause of the complications in your mana would be you. Since you transmigrated into a body not originally yours, it may cause rejection of any external mana that will attempt to permeate into your body.”
Oh, that can absolutely happen.
Park Noah had assumed she had perfectly assimilated with Eleonora Asil’s body as she had experienced no issues until now. Besides, she imprinted with a dragon, the most powerful creature to ever exist, which might pose more risk.
However, observing the investigator’s expression, Park Noah noticed that he didn’t seem to stress on that possibility. He turned to Park Noah again, his eyes darkening. “The probability of it happening is low, but, we cannot rule it out completely.”
Indeed, Kyle Leonard remained distinct from other investigators. His proficiency and exceptional skill stood out among the rest. On top of that, he sports domineering violet orbs in contrast to his impassive face, which dries the mouths of every person he comes across with; Park Noah not an exception.
“Why?” She queried.
His gaze shifted to her abdomen. “I tried to put my magic into your body earlier. It’s not like the magic of a dragon or a wizard, but similar to a magic weapon, the mana is more powerful than the average man, but it’s not particularly repulsive.”
“What?” Park Noah’s eyes widened, shocked at his confession. So the cold sensation earlier was his magic!
“If there were a rejection, I would have possibly died?”
“The amount of magic I attempted to transfer into you was extremely small.” Kyle Leonard argued. However, it was evident that he himself was uncertain.
Should I really slap him in the face?
“I’ll sue you for attempted murder. You know it’s already the second time, right?” Park Noah threatened, her eyes ablaze.
“Once this investigation is finished, you can file a case against me at least a hundred times if you’d like. Aren’t you interested on the second possibility?” Seemingly guilty, Kyle Leonard changed the subject. Park Noah scoffed but prompted him to continue.
“Second, assuming that it’s true that you didn’t steal the egg…” His eyes slowly turned to the little child, with Park Noah’s eyes following in suit. “Then the problem lies with him,” he asserted.
“With Mu?” Park Noah clarified, looking at the innocent little child who stared at them, clueless, his big round eyes blinking cutely.
“There must be a reason behind the complications — why his magic is not completely resonating with you as it should. And there is only one thing I could think of. This dragon might have imprinted with another person other than you.”
“What?” A palpable chill struck Park Noah, causing her to forget all her complaints. What Kyle Leonard had said clamored in her ears.
