Chapter 36 - Frill Happy Night’s Wardrobe

Chapter 36: Frill Happy Night’s Wardrobe

Truth to be told, Kyle Leonard, who appeared distant and indifferent, actually bore deep feelings of guilt for what he had done against Park Noah.

But of course, if he were given a chance to return to the previous day, he would possibly aim the gun towards her in the same manner still.

Kyle Leonard was an investigator who did not, for one moment, gave space for any jeopardy during his investigations. It has been almost 10 years since he worked at the most extreme crime scenes wherein his head would detach from his neck if he lowers his guard even for a second. It has become his habit to take out weapons in dangerous situations.

Needless to say, he was proud of himself. He did not commit such a big crime, at least, in broad daylight.

Kyle Leonard stared at the store in front of him with his tired eyes. “…Is this where you should come with me?”

“Yes.” Park Noah replied, gleefully skipping into the store.

Kyle Leonard forced his trembling feet to the threshold of the store, like a cow being taken to a slaughterhouse. The name of the store was…

Frill Happy Night’s Wardrobe.

“…..”

The most frills he had ever seen in his entire life flooded the store. At this point, Kyle Leonard’s expression could no longer be deciphered. Frill Happy Night’s Wardrobe was lightyears away from his taste.

However, whenever he notices Park Noah massaging her temples every time her head ached, he stiffens. Kyle Leonard could not simply ignore her and turn his back on them. Even though it was not entirely his fault, he was guilty.

And when he had discovered that she was, in fact, not the wicked witch, Eleonora Asil, his guilt had multiplied twofold. Kyle Leonard was the general manager of the security department in the entire district of Laurent, which means, he was responsible for the safety and welfare of the citizens, including Park Noah.

As long as Park Noah remained clear from any charges, she was a subject Kyle Leonard had to protect. As a matter of fact, she needed special security; she was a mere commoner, possessing no powers, who had transmigrated into the body of the wanted witch and imprinted with a dragon.

And above all…

“She’s dead, too.”

“I died of overwork. Maybe it’s because when you die, you wander in between different dimensions for a long time before finally ceasing.”

When Kyle Leonard heard of the bitter tragedy behind Park Noah’s life, guilt rushed within him. Damn it. If I knew how things would turn out, I’d think twice before pointing my gun at you.

“You said it was part of the investigation.” He hissed, grabbing Park Noah’s elbow.

“Oh, it was a lie.” Park Noah laughed at the sight of fuming Kyle Leonard who looked like a seething kettle. She was even thrilled at his appearance.

“I didn’t call you in as an investigator today. I called you in as a butler.” She smirked without a trace of shame.

“What?”

Park Noah turned around, pretending not to hear him, and busied herself rummaging through the clothes. “I need baby clothes. Come to think of it, I don’t have any pajamas. While I’m living, I’m going to buy a bunch of outdoor and indoor clothes.”

“I don’t know why you need to buy baby clothes.” Kyle Leonard interrupted.

“You’ll find out when you wait.”

Park Noah pulled out a colorful polka-dot children’s pajama and went straight to him. Then, she placed the pajamas on the child he was carrying to see whether or not it fit.

The routine dragged on for an hour, leaving an exhausted Kyle Leonard. He had planned to leave early, and once the woman has been brought home, he has to collect all the evidence he can obtain from Sorrent even if he has to work all night.

“Mu, do you like polka-dots, or do you like star patterns?”

Park Noah’s face brightened as Muell scrambled toward the polka-dot pajamas. Meanwhile, Kyle Leonard couldn’t distinguish the difference between the two pajamas.

However, it also seemed distinct in the eyes of the child. Kyle Leonard watched the little dragon proudly wearing his new pajamas with flushed cheeks and heaved a deep sigh.
