As the throng of delinquents surrounded his friend Charlie, Luke leaned over the two guards he had just knocked down with a cheeky grin.
"You guys are pretty tough eh? Just not that tough!" Luke couldn't help but laugh as he patted the bigger of the two on the cheek with an air of superiority. "Do me a solid and just stay down would ya?" He smirked then as he stood and went up to his buddy determined to take full advantage of the confusion he'd just caused.
"Charlie! Charlie!!" He bounced up and down on his toes giddily "I didnt know you could fight like that?! Why didn't you tell me?!" Luke demanded pretending to be hurt as he continued to exaggerate this situation. His odd behavior causing his friend to stare at him completely dumbfounded. It never went well for him when Luke started cooking things up and it looked like that was exactly his intention. He couldn't help but groan inwardly when he realized what Luke was up to.
This was great! Abso-f*cking-lutely great! His dear friend had just proceeded to paint a target on his back as a means to deflect all interest off him. He couldn't help but glare at his friend. The look on his face clearly stating "I. Am. Not. A. F*cking. Decoy. Alright!?!"
Really though, this was perfect! At least this was what Luke thought. Not only was gaining the element of surprise but he also got to watch his dear old friend squirm a little. Now that was gold.Hilarious really. Luke proceeded to push the envelope a little bit and looked up at Charlie with his eyes damp with tears of betrayal. "All this time you were helping me but you..you kept all these moves to yourself! I can't believe you held out on me like this!!" The accusation was so perfectly played out that even Charlie almost fell for it!
Who was this kid!? What had he done with his buddy!?! Charlie was just about set the record straight when the call of a louder, more authoritative voice broke through the commotion.
"Alright everybody! Listen up!! I am only going to say this once!!"
The minute he spoke all eyes turned to stare at the scaffolding from which the voice had come from. There on it stood a man. Just under six foot tall with dark hair sunglasses and a brooding look. His deep blue eyes were taking in the men in the room with a coldness that would have chilled the most hardened criminal. This man was Hunter. The lead boss of Satans Foot Soldiers. The scariest most powerful man in Arcadia [1]. The minute he spoke the room fell into complete silence.
"Rule number 1. This fight is to the death. We are strictly ride or die. If you aren't prepared to die for your brothers then leave and don't waste my time!"
There was a small pause and the sound of shuffling feet could be heard. One by one a few people started to make their way out of the room. Luke could feel Charlie's eyes burning into him but no move to leave. Luke had long since been dead on the inside. At least if he died here, he could join his father. Besides these shrimps didn't scare him. The only one worthy of his attention was the man who stood at the front of room speaking. Luke could not take his eyes off of him.
