Since he had already decided to start his training right away, he went to look for his uncle. Just as he stepped out the door, he realised that he forgot to ask where uncle Niao's room was. He didn't even know on which floor he should start searching.
He didn't spend too much time thinking about it. Instead he decided to look for someone else. Someone who knew where he should go to train. Someone who was awake at this hour.
At first he just roamed around in the corridors. After a while, he started to think about whether everybody was truly sleeping or not. He felt as if he were completely alone. As if he were the only one who'd survived a calamity. As if everyone else were dead.
He did like the silence, but he didn't like being alone. Whenever he was alone, he felt as if someone were watching him from a distance. It made him feel uncomfortable and suspicious.
Sometimes he just thought he was too paranoid, but some other times, he felt as if he knew that he could die at any time.
He was aware of his own strength and intelligence. For those weaker than himself, he might seem invincible, but everyone isn't weaker than him.
He thought about his biological father. 'He must be stronger than me', he thought to himself.
After a while of walking and thinking, he suddenly noticed something. He couldn't feel any auras. Not a single one. Even if everybody else was sleeping, he should still be able to feel their auras. He thought it was very strange.
He decided to go outside to look for someone in the yard. Maybe someone knew what was happening.
As soon as he opened the door, he felt a strong blood smell. It made him feel confused. He was about to take a step out, but noticed that the ground was filled with corpses.
"I only slept for a few hours… How could all of this happen?!"
He thought out loud.
"At-ttacked…"
"WHO?!"
A man was laying on the ground a few meters away. He was covered in blood and his arm had been cut off.
"Ugh…"
"Hey! Don't die yet! I still need to know what happened!"
Xiao Huoyan ran out, despite the corpses on the ground. He ran up to the man. He then noticed that his breathing was getting weaker.
"Sorry for breaking my promise so soon…"
He said that and looked up to the sky. He had promised his father, Jin Long, that he wouldn't heal others.
The man suddenly lifted his head and looked up at Xiao Huoyan. He looked confused.
Xiao Huoyan took out a bottle containing his blood, from his storage ring.
"Drink this!"
Now the man looked even more confused.
"Trust me! Do as I say or continue to lay here and wait for death."
The man said nothing. He just nodded and opened his mouth. Xiao Huoyan then poured a few drops into the man's mouth.
As soon as the man swallowed it, he noticed the changes. He felt warm all over. The changes were actually visible to the naked eye. He saw how his wounds started to emit a bright light before they started to close. The light was so bright, it caused the man to close his eyes. When he opened them, his eyes instantly widened with shock. His wounds were gone. Every single scratch!
"Is everything alright now?"
Xiao Huoyan asked even though he already knew the answer.
"I-I'm f-fine… No, I'm actually even better than fine…"
"Well that's good to hear. Shall we head in and talk, now that you feel better?"
"Ah, y-yes!"
"Great!"
They both headed in. As soon as they sat down, the man asked:
"Uhm… I'm sorry, but may I know who you are?"
"Oh, I'm just someone who moved here yesterday."
"Oh, okay. So, what shall I call you, great benefactor?"
"Jin Xin."
"J-JIN XIN?!"
"Yes."
"So, you're from the Jin family, huh? To think that Jin Niao would actually hide his son from me…"
"Oh, you know uncle Niao?"
"Yes… wait 'Uncle Niao'? So, you're not Jin Niao's son?"
"No, I'm not. I'm his nephew."
"Then you must be Jin Long's son, right?"
"…"
"What? Did I guess it wrong again?"
"That's not it. It's just that my father is a sensitive topic to talk about right now."
"Oh? You don't have a good relationship?"
"We do… We did."
"Don't tell me he's…"
Xiao Huoyan couldn't bring himself to say it out loud. He felt as if his heart would break as soon as he opened his mouth, so he just nodded with a sad expression on his face.
Even though Xiao Huoyan didn't say a single word, the man understood. He didn't want to believe it, but he knew that there was no need to lie about such a serious matter.
"Uhm… for how long has he… you know…"
"Around two days."

"TWO DAYS?!"
"Yes. You think I'd lie about something like this?"
"O-of course not. It's just… I didn't think they'd hide his death."
"Why?"
"He was such a big character. Usually when someone like him dies, the family announce it to the public immediately."
"I'm sure they have their own reasons to cover it up. I don't want to meddle in their business."
"you have all rights to meddle. He's your father!"
"I know what I'm doing. If I wanted to announce it to the world, I would've already done so. You probably think that I sound arrogant, right?"
"Uhm… A little."
"Even though it sounds arrogant, it's the truth. If I ever want to do something, nobody would be able to stop me."
"Even though your Jin family is strong, it's not the strongest--"
"--I know, but I never said that I'd be depending on my family. Since I'm not the really related to the Jin Family, I doubt they'd help me anyways."
"Wait… You're not Jin Long's real son?!"
"That's right."
"Aren't you afraid that I'll tell others about this?"
"Not really."
"Why?"
"Because I know you won't. If you decided to tell someone, I could just kill you."
