Eliam and Gideon split ways when Gideon finally calmed down and finished his coffee. Gideon offered his number to Eliam in any case that the guy wanted to talk to him more. He did this because he could easily open up about these kinds of problems to him. So it's kind of comforting to know he could talk to someone without reservation.
Gideon decided to go home now since he didn't have anywhere else to go. But to his dismay, someone had been standing outside, waiting for him. His heart started to beat fast and he couldn't breathe a little. Why is that?
"Gideon, where the hell did you go?" Kaiden noticed him and walked towards him. Since it was cold, he was about to grab Gideon's hand when the other person suddenly stepped back.
"I just went out for a breather" Gideon placed his hands into the pockets of his jacket.
Kaiden was still confused as to why Gideon suddenly avoided him.
'Ah, maybe it's because I did yell at him yesterday and walked out'
He actually wanted to walk back in and apologize for being stupid. But he felt embarrassed to do that since he was making a fool out of himself during that moment. And thus, he decided to actually just go home and continue his work there. If he had known it would cause an impact on the freshly formed bond they had after so long, then he would have just accepted being a fool.
"I see, but you should have told me that. So I could have just taken you out someplace else and-"
"No, it's fine. Just leave me alone. You see that I'm fine right?" Gideon gestured to himself and Kaiden tried to move closer to him and Gideon just backed off.
"Please, just leave Kaiden. I'm tired."
He didn't really understand why he felt like there was an overwhelming pressure of danger emitting from Kaiden. Back then he was even fine with sleeping in the same room as Kaiden but why does it feel like he had done something terrible when he hasn't. Kaiden pursed his lips before replying "Alright, take care Gideon". He then walked around Gideon and left. It was only Gideon who got left standing there.
'Well shit'
He and Kaiden were supposed to clear this whole thing up and reconcile just like what Eliam had suggested. He felt like there was something very wrong with him the moment he saw Kaiden. Gideon went into his house and took out his phone. He thought of apologizing to Kaiden for his sudden outburst. But instead of texting Kaiden, he texted Eliam instead.
Gideon: Hey liam it's gideon... I may have made a grave mistake
The moment he sent that he noticed that Eliam has already seen it and started typing. Gideon did not wonder why this guy responded so fast because he had been too busy overthinking everything.
Eliam: What did you do? Also, do you get home safely?
Texting Eliam made Gideon feel like he was texting a superior or something. It was a little nerve-wracking but it's required of him to report it.
Gideon: I did but my friend came to my house and I kicked him out
Eliam: Why would you do that?
Gideon: He made me feel uncomfortable
.
.
"Oh that's not good" A white-haired man suddenly blurted out loud.
"What's not good?" The other person suddenly asked and the man just smiled.
"It's nothing, I'm talking to a friend. Shouldn't you go back as well?"
"But I still haven't gotten an answer. Are you on our side or their side El?"
Eliam, who was also called El in the past, held out a hand to gesture "Wait".
Eliam: Well if you're uncomfortable it's alright that you kicked him out. What did he do?
Gideon: Nothing
Eliam paused realizing that even if he erased Gideon's memories, the emotions he felt were still present. How should he fix this...
Eliam: That is... quite the problem.
Gideon: Yeah. I wanted to say I'm sorry but I'll look stupid if I do it right now that's why I wanted to ask what should I do?
Eliam remembered that someone was still waiting for his answer as well. After making a quick reply to Gideon that he should calm down himself first and try to assess the situation, he glanced at the other person.
"I'm on ######'s side" Eliam answers truthfully and the other person furrowed their eyebrows. They couldn't understand the words that Eliam suddenly said.
"Who?"
"They're nothing of your concern. But if you and Matthew managed to mess with them, just know that I won't sit quietly and watch" Eliam usually had a smile but right now he narrowed his eyes at the other person who had summoned him for no reason.
"I... I understand" The other person answered with cold sweat running down their back. So this is what it was like to see El angry.
.
.
When Kaiden returned, he went straight to Azazel's temporary office which was Arda's office. Azazel had been sleeping since he had already gone through half of the work for the next 3 months.
"Azazel wake up" Kaiden knocked on the table and Azazel groaned.
"Can't you at least let me sleep more?" Azazel muttered before raising his head to yawn as he stretches his arms.
"I think I fucked up" Kaiden suddenly admitted and grabbed a seat for him to rest on.
"Oh, so you finally realized... Oh I mean is that you finally realized that you definitely creeped the fuck out of him" even with that clarification, it did was not helping.
Kaiden tried to remember all of the things that he did wrong. Even if he did walk out on Gideon, it wouldn't show that reaction. It was as if he has done something so inhumane.
"It might be that..." He mumbled to himself and Azazel raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"But how... I definitely hid the incident and the body was fed to the dogs1 " Kaiden continued. Azazel, on the other hand, grabbed a notebook and rolled it up before hitting it lightly on Kaiden's head.
"NOT JUST THAT YOU DUMBASS, YOUR OVERALL PERSONALITY IS A DAMN RED FLAG" Azazel was literally smacking some sense into him.
"oW OW! STOP!"
"IF YOU DON'T REALIZE HOW STUPID YOU ARE THEN HOW WILL YOU CHANGE?"
"I'M SORRY I'M SORRY!"
The two of them went on like this for a few more minutes before Azazel got tired again. Kaiden definitely has a bump on his head from all of that smacking.
"So Gideon finally snapped and kicked you out?"
"Yeah, and his reaction towards me made it look like I did something inhumane to him"
"I mean you did do something inhumane for him without him asking for it" Azazel continued to bring up the murdered nurse since they all had to make excuses for this crazy prince to the next of kin of that person.
"He wouldn't know about it and it seems like it's something else but I don't know what because he doesn't want to see me"
This scene seemed familiar to Azazel.
"Why do I feel suddenly bad Azazel?"
"What do you mean Luciel?"
"Like I get it that I invested a lot in Gabriella but I don't know... why would she just suddenly disappear like that. Even if she's sending letters, I feel terrible. And even if I ask why she left, she won't answer. Does she not want to see me?"
Azazel wanted to punch the guy in front of him. Gabriella already had her feelings sorted and finally was aware that this man had been using her. But this man also had the audacity to feel hurt just because she wanted space.
"Instead of wondering of the whys, just work on the hows. How are you going to fix this?"
This was the same answer he gave to Luciel back then. It was thanks to this that Luciel finally realized what Gabriella meant to him. And now, he could only hope that it makes Kaiden realize Gideon's feelings. If anything, Gideon was really something to keep sticking to the prince. Even if Kaiden threatened him, Kaiden isn't going to force him physically. Well, at least that's what he thinks. That's because Kaiden always had Gideon's interest in mind.
'Although it is too much' Azazel thought to himself.
"Work on the hows?" Kaiden repeated what Azazel had suggested.
"Yeah, because I doubt Gideon will tell you why. Give him a little bit of space. You can also have Amias go there and keep him company" Azazel suggested and he noticed the prince's murderous aura again. "Company as in talking like friends. I swear you're just going to worsen the situation if you make Amias break their friendship off"
"I wasn't planning to"
"I may have not seen you during your childhood but we practically raised you during your teen years and I know that you were planning to"
Kaiden just averted his eyes and Azazel sighed.
"Let Gideon go for now. Let him clear his head and reach out. I'm sure he's already used to your presence around that the moment you do so, he'll also wonder why. That way you can also work on yourself"
