"What's your name? I'm Amias and that's Gideon"

Gideon deep inside just thought of how sketchy Amias looked right now. Even though he did not lie about their names, he still felt bothered about this.

"Hey, Amias..." He called out but the girl beside him spoke.

"I'm Isolde and that's Marie"

Gideon just did a facepalm mentally. Didn't their parents tell them that telling strangers their names is a bad idea let alone the fact they're talking to strangers in the first place?

"Isolde... That has a lot of meanings you know? There's the Ice ruler and there's also She who is gazed upon" Amias tilted his head to the side a little bit to adjust his scarf.

"She who is gazed upon? what does that mean?" Isolde suddenly asks. Amias chuckled and replied in a low voice.

"That means a beautiful lady"

Isolde suddenly turned red and Gideon couldn't help but kick Amias' leg lightly while shooting him a look to stop it since they are kids. Amias just waved his hand a little bit and mouthed "I know I won't".

Their food arrived soon and the manager noted that their take-out orders will take a while. To which is why they already served them their dine-in orders. Amias continued to bother Isolde and Marie about their lessons and turns out they were still in high school.

'All the more reason to avoid suspicious-looking adults'

The two of them studied in a public high school for scholars which impressed Gideon. But again, even with all of that book smart in them, they still lack street smarts.

"Demons are easy to memorize since we have a lot of classmates who are part demons themselves or they know someone who is" Marie explains and Gideon did think the same especially when you look at the majority of the student population in schools.

Even if there was no law to segregate the races, it's more of a quiet issue. That is because no one brings it up nor makes any actions to solve this issue.

These girls may not have seen Amias often or he had actually changed his looks with his powers without Gideon knowing. But thanks to this, he managed to hear more about this very specific issue.

"You don't have Angels in your class?" Amias asks and Isolde was the one who responded this time.

"We do but they're only the Sanatios1 and Adfectus2. Cantus3 and Sapientias4 are quite rare so we easily forget their subclasses as well"

"Well if you think about it... Angels and Demons are quite similar" Amias took a bite of his meal before washing it down with his drink.

"How so?" Gideon now wondered what Amias meant by this.

"They were both created at the same time since you can't have a "Perfect" being while having "good" and "bad" traits. But even if that was done, it was a fail. Angels still wanted to commit terrible actions while there are Demons who are soft-hearted."

He had a point because if that was not the case then perhaps the storyline of the previous book would have played out differently. The two girls decided to leave since they still had to do some things and they thanked Amias for his help with their studies.

"Reminds me... What kind are you Gideon?" Amias pushed his plate to the side and leaned on the table.

"I'm actually not sure"

"Really? you never once tried to figure it out?"

Gideon did try back when he was still a child but he was not a proficient healer like Kaiden nor was he able to speak numerous languages or go into one's thoughts.  He explained this all to Amias who was quite interested.

"Have you ever considered that you might be a Cantus?"

"Haha if I was then that's a waste. I can't sing, unfortunately rather... I sing terribly" Gideon laughed sarcastically as he ate his fries.

"I'll be the judge of that once I hear it" Amias confidently states.

"Like I'll let you hear it" Gideon shuts him down.

The two left the restaurant once they were done preparing the meals that Amias ordered for take-out. It still bothered Gideon how many these dishes were to the point that he also had to carry two of the paper bags of take-out.

He actually asked about it once they were back on the road. Amias said that Yohann's powers not only change his physical appearance drastically but also cause him to get hungry more easily. It was also the reason why he's not skin and bones whenever he uses his powers.

"I'm not actually sure if he still eats this amount of food but it wouldn't hurt to try" He comments as he makes a few turns on the road.

They slowly entered a private subdivision and soon a villa came into Gideon's view. He was just in awe of how big the house was from the outside. Let alone what that could look like on the inside.

"The other neighbors here must be surprised to have Yohann as their neighbor..."

"Oh no, almost all of them are Kassandra's personnel. She provides them properties as part of their compensation for joining the army"

All of these are just homes for her workers?! They're even bigger than their current house right now.

"Even the place you're sleeping in belonged to Kassandra. She's very generous to her men since they're out there risking their lives for her instead of her"

Amias began to park the car on the side of the road. He continued to explain that Luciel grants them a lot of properties since technically at this point the entire world is within their grasps. If one day one of them wished for a country, Luciel will see it done.

"What about your place? is it similar to this?"

"It's... not."

"What's yours like?"

"A condominium unit. I've had it before the war broke out. Luciel actually insisted that I should move but the sisters that live on the other floors are hot" Amias laughs as he opened the door for Gideon. His response to that was merely an eye roll.

"Then what about the others?"

The two walked to the Main Building entrance and it seems like the workers there were already notified of their visit because of how speedy they were in greeting them and guiding them in. One of them even took the bags of food from Gideon.

"Yohann lives with his sister since they both don't see the purpose of them separating anyways. Damien also has a similar compound to this one for his men as well. If I wasn't mistaken, Azazel opted to give his land to some of those that got displaced during the war" He still thought of how "nice" it was of Azazel to give that up and opt for a place in the Palace instead.

"What about Lady Arda?"

"If I remember correctly... She has a small house in the countryside but she can't even take a break which is why she already has her own bedroom in the palace as well"

The two continued to chat about the mundane part of the noble's life up until they reached Yohann's room. Amias told Gideon to wait with the servant for a moment and went inside the room after knocking on the door. A few moments passed when Amias opened the door and showed Gideon to Yohann who was standing by the window.

"Gideon, meet my good friend Yohann. Yohann, this is the kid that I took care of while you were gone"

Yohann scribbled something quickly and flipped his notepad.

"You sure that isn't just your kid?"

"I always use protection. Anyways don't just stand there Gideon, come in" Gideon was suddenly pulled in by Amias and he ordered the servant to leave the food by the table in the room.

Yohann's nose could already smell the food and knew that it was from his favorite shop. Who would have known that the restaurant would still be open?

"Stop sniffing around like a dog and just get one if you're hungry" Amias tells Yohann.

On the other hand, Amias was actually impressed that Yohann wasn't shaking like usual whenever there was a stranger breathing the same air as him. Gideon grabbed Amias' sleeve and whispered a question.

"Why can't he speak?"

"Oh um..." Amias glances at Yohann and it seems like he already prepared a letter for those who ask the same question over and over again.

"It's because my tongue got cut off once. Even though I now have a new tongue, I still can't talk no matter what. The ones who were in charge of healing me noted that this was a psychological issue because I can still remember certain memories I wish I could forget"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I feel insensitive for asking" Gideon lowered his head and because of that, he did not see Yohann waving his hands as if he's saying it's alright he doesn't mind it.
