<Author's Notes>
【Just before the release date, the highlights of the Light Novel's Volume 12 is introduced in the Activity Report】
After we teleported to the deserted island we visited first, Eden-san slowly told me stories about her past. It was a long conversation that she would normally have gone out of control before she could finish it, but Eden-san's expression remained calm as she talked about the person she called her best friend, and I could tell that she really cared about that person.
It was a story about a girl born with mysterious powers…… Eden-san, how she met and was saved by her hero, and decided to become a God.
There were some parts that were made obscure, but the story was fresh…… and more importantly, judging from the way Eden-san talked about them, I felt that the best friend she called her hero must be a really great person.
Eventually though, Eden-san left her to become a God, parting ways with her best friend, but more than 20 billion years later, it seems that her best friend still remains in her mind as an indelible memory.
When Eden-san had finished her story, just as she had said, the sun had set…… and the stars became visible.
[……I sure sailed through a strange fate. A lot of years have passed since then, and even though the world has changed, I am still looking up at the stars with someone else. Some things change, while some things stay the same…… I could certainly feel it.]
[The number of years Eden-san has lived is too vast for me to even imagine…… but I can sympathize with the feeling of being deeply moved by memories and things that do not change over time.]
[I see……]
After calmly smiling at my words, Eden-san looked up at the starry sky once more and muttered.
[……This is the first time I've talked about this with anyone. However, I've always wanted to tell my child about this.]
[Why is that?]
[I don't know? I'm also wondering why.]
Why did Eden-san tell me about the story of her origins that she never told anyone before…… Somehow, I had a feeling that it was for a different reason than her being overly-doting on me, but it doesn't seem like she's willing to tell me that.
Well, I guess I won't pry too deeply into it.
[……Thank you for accompanying me today. Thanks to you, I have another good memory that will never fade.]
[No, I'm the one who should be thanking you…… Thank you for inviting me today. If there's another opportunity like this, I hope we can go out together again.]
All's well that ends well, I suppose. It has been a really tough day…… but I'm glad that things turned out all right. I learned a lot of things about Eden-san that I didn't know before, but now that it's over, I feel that today isn't so bad.
In the beginning, I was quite anxious, feeling tense along our stroll as if I was carrying a bomb that could explode at any moment, but even after a really long day, as it turned out, Eden-san didn't get out of control and I learned a lot about her.
However, I still felt very tired, and after taking a bath, I crawled into bed and let my consciousness be drawn to sleep…… or so it should have been.
When I came to my senses, I found myself in a strange place. If I had to describe it…… It was as if I'm up in the sky, with nothing but the blue sky all around me.
In such a sky, I was standing on top of a large gear toppled sideways. Was this a dream? If it was, I'm feeling awfully conscious…… A dream in which I'm standing on a gear floating in the sky certainly is quite a strange dream.
While I was thinking like this, a gear similar to the one I was on suddenly fell from further up in the sky…… and connected to the gear I'm standing on, seemingly forming a staircase.
What's this? Could I take it that I should climb up here? As I climbed up the stairs made of gears, feeling that this really was quite the strange dream…… I saw a very large gear and a huge door that should be about several dozen meters large.
When I stood in front of the huge door, it slowly opened by itself. However, the door that was supposed to be open was glowing white, but strangely enough, I couldn't see anything inside.
As I tilted my head, I walked deeper into the light…… deeper within the door…… the scenery changed again.
I'm on the rooftop of a skyscraper, where I could see the metropolis under a cloudy sky…… and standing ahead of me was a person with her back facing me.
The woman was dressed simply in a white dress with a reddish cardigan, had long rust-colored hair and was about 150cm tall, but her most characteristic feature would be the mechanical wing on her right shoulder.
As my eyes were drawn to that mechanical wing, the woman slowly looked back at me. Her face was well-groomed and she could be described as a beautiful girl, but what caught my attention even more were her bright iridescent eyes.
……I wonder why? I think I've seen such eyes somewhere before, but I can't remember.
[Welcome…… In this situation, I suppose I should say "Nice to meet you" here, right?]
Looking back at me, the woman had a kind smile on her face and a beautiful voice……
[My name is Makina. Your——— "mother"!!!]
[……Eh? No…… You aren't though?]
———-and said some incomprehensible lines with a smug look on her face. What the heck is this strange dream……
<Afterword>
Q : Why did she think that this would heal him in the previous chapter?
A : Because Eden (Makina) recognizes herself as "a comforting partner" for Kaito……
Q : Why didn't Kaito realize that the best friend Eden was talking about was Alice in this chapter?
A : There are several reasons for this.
① In the Light Novel, she heard a little about "her other best friend", but not in the Web Novel.
② Eden told her story while somewhat blurring out some information, so Kaito couldn't personally identify who she was talking about.
③ The story is told from the perspective of Eden (Makina), who loves Alice very much, so the Alice is in her story had been "beautified by 2.7 times", so with how Alice was like around him, Kaito didn't realize Eden was actually talking about her.

Well then, here's what the readers would like to know.
① Ochau-sama has drawn us beautiful pictures
Especially this time, there were many pictures with a cool atmosphere, and the colored pictures were quite spectacular. You can also see the dragonoid Nidzveld in full color.
② Illness' entrance in the Demon Lord Arc
The flag had already been set by this point, but Illness will also participate in the battle involving the Demon Lord Vier. Her opponent is of course……
③ The Six Kings' Executives watching the Vier battle
Ozma, Lillie, and Nidzveld, who have made early appearances in the Light Novel so far, are watching the Vier battle.
④ Newly written content where Vier returns to Kuro's castle
This is a story talked about in passing in the Six Kings Festival, about that time when Vier was scolded by Zwei
(T/N: I suppose this would be the formal introduction to Zwei in the Light Novel)
⑤ The Encounter with Nidzveld
Unlike in the Web Novel, Nidzveld highly regarded Kaito earlier because she watched the Vier battle, so they meet in a different way here.
They also meet not in Symphonia, but in Archlesia Empire.
⑥ Start of the Six Kings Festival
The first part of the longest arc, the Six Kings Festival, finally begins. The night before the festival is included in this volume.
(T/N: I suppose this includes Alice's conversation with Eden or perhaps, even the timeline Shiro saw and was looking forward to.)
⑦ Illustrations.
……Isis in yukata. No other words needed. Isis in yukata.
And that's about it! Release day is coming soon, please look forward to it!
