~KYOMI~
"Good, our special guests have finally made it." My father added, a slight edge to his voice.
"As I was saying, tonight I have a very important announcement to make. My daughter Kyomi has been engaged to Dante Clarke for some time now. I've only chosen tonight to make the announcement and host a public engagement ceremony for them both."
The crowd was silent for a moment before everyone went into an uproar. My entire family stood in panic, unsure of what to do about the crowd. Yet Dante's family stood completely calm, if anything they seemed somewhat amused.
"Do I need to bring out my guns for everyone to shut their mouths and let the rest of the announcement be completed?" Dante's father asked.
Everyone immediately grew quiet at that while my parents stared at Kevlar as though he were insane for even bringing up that suggestion.
"Right, you may now continue." He said to my father with amused eyes. He was enjoying this, Dante's father loved the fact that the crowd was scared of him and his family.
While he was enjoying it however, my father was hating every second of it. Surely, this would also affect his reputation after word spread of what had happened tonight.
"As many of you may have already seen, some articles were published a few days ago pertaining to my daughter and her relationship with Dante, we've chosen now to finally come clean about everything. I'm sure many of you would understand why we've kept this information private, we were waiting for the right time to break the news but the media beat us too it. " My father continued. "Now, an official wedding invitation would be sent to everyone invited so you can look out for that, one last detail that I must mention is that the wedding will take place at Kevlar's home."
Once again the crowd was up in an uproar, however as soon as their eyes fell on Dante's father they all shut their mouths once more.
"I won't be attending any event hosted there." Someone chose to speak up.
All eyes went to the dark haired middle aged man with stubborn eyes.
"Oh really?" Kevlar asked as he approached him, the man's calm demeanor seemed to weaken with each step that he took closer to him. "Do you think I care? Let it be known to all of you here, the wedding celebrations would go on with or without you there. There would be many wealthy guests attending and so its bound to be the talk of the town for months, possibly even years. If you choose not to attend the wedding that's your choice and does not affect me or my family in any way."
The man kept his mouth shut, apparently now afraid to say a word.
Kevlar turned his attention to the crowd. "Anyone else has something to say?"
When everyone remained quiet he turned his gaze to my father and motioned for him to continue.
My father looked as though he were about to burst a vein but still continued. "That's all for now, thank you for your undivided attention, you may all celebrate with us. There are drinks and appetizers for everyone, do enjoy!"
As soon as the crowd's attention were diverted from us my father's control slipped as he almost immediately started an argument with Kevlar, threatening to call off the wedding if he didn't fix his attitude. Of course everyone knew that the threat wasn't really much of a threat considering that my father needed this wedding to happen a lot more than Kevlar did.
I was so caught up in their conversation that I hadn't realized that Dante had somehow made his way to my side, I could feel his warm breath on my neck as he gently gripped my waist and pulled me back on him so that our bodies were now aligned with each other.
I felt him lean closer to my ear and couldn't help the way my heart fluttered at having him so near me again.
"I've missed you." He whispered.
I felt my knees grow weak at his words. I wasn't expecting it and once again he somehow managed to throw me off guard.
Oh God... Not again.
