~KYOMI~
It was my first day back to school after the entire incident with Dante. It was also my first day back since my marriage to him was announced.
I could feel eyes on me with every direction I turned. Some were filled with envy, others with surprise, others with disbelief.
It didn't matter in what way they were looking at me, either way I felt uncomfortable with having this much attention on me and I just wanted it to go away.
I hadn't seen Dante since the engagement night, that night he hadn't spoken to me not once after placing the ring on my finger. His actions surprised me just as much as it bothered me.
Who placed a ring on someone's finger and then never speak to them for the rest of the night?
I'd also been a little distracted after my sister had shown interest in Dante's older brother Hugo.
I'd waited for Dante to tell me something before he left that night, was expecting him to say something to me but he hadn't.
Even now, with all these eyes on me I was hoping to find him in the crowds. But I knew Dante had evening classes, yet I expected him to come see me like he did the last time he'd shown interest in me.
There was a change in him, ever since he'd placed the ring on my finger it was like he'd distanced himself. I knew it was too soon to tell but I could already see it happening.
"Kyomi!"
I spun around and felt my body relax as I spotted Mandy with Bridgette by her side. Alisha not far behind them both.
"I'm so happy to see you guys." I admitted.
"I feel like it's been ages!" Mandy complained as she pulled me in for a hug.
"I know." I cried. "Dad kept me home as punishment. Well to be honest it was my smallest punishment considering everything that has been happening."
"We know." Bridgette cut in. "It's been all over the school, everyone knows you're getting married to Dante!"
"It's hard to believe though." Alisha cut in. "It took some time for anyone to believe that the story was true. I mean, it's Dante Clarke. It's a freaking Clarke for crying out! Girls threw themselves his way and he never once gives them attention for anything more than a week. And here he is getting married to you. You don't find that's a bit suspicious?"
I did find it suspicious, but there wasn't anything I could do about it.
The wedding was happening with or without my consent.
