~DANTE~

Where was she?

I had been waiting for Kyomi since I last saw her earlier today. I thought she would get home with the transport my father arranged for her but when I'd asked the driver he told me he waited for over an hour for her and she never showed.

When I had let her walk off today, I had ȧssumed she would go home and rest for a bit. Maybe even come to terms with everything that happened and finally be open to talk to me. However, I was shocked to find out that she was nowhere to be found.

I'd even went out searching nearby restaurants and bars, hoping to find her somewhere . . . Anywhere. I'd called around, hoping that someone had seen her.

Yet, no one was any help to me.

I was beyond worried.

I didn't know which direction to turn to.

I should have insisted that she stayed and talked to me more, should never have let her go like that. I knew she wasn't in a good state after finding out everything in that way.

Her words fuċkɨnġ burnt. The fact that I'd destroyed her life and she had made it known to me that I was the reason was like a whole bucket of water splashed onto my face.

I punched my fist against the bead head and fought the urge to hit it some more.

I grabbed my keys off the hanger and rushed out the room. I couldn't just sit back and wait here without actually going out there and looking for her.

What if something happened?

It was already ten in the night. Where the hell could she be at this time?

"Where are you heading this hour?" Mateo asked, looking at me with interest.

"I have no idea where Kyomi is." I answered, unable to hide the worry from my voice.

That caught his attention, he even seemed concerned. "She's not adjusting to life here easily, is she?" He asked. "It can't be easy for her to just be thrown into a completely new environment within days."

I clenched my jaw, his words making me feel even more guilty than I did before.

"She found out today about the entire thing." I confessed. "She knows that this was all just a plot to get at her father."

"Damn." Mateo mumbled. "Where are you going to look for her?" He asked me.

I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know but I'm not just going to sit around here and do nothing."

He nodded. "Well good luck, call me if you need anything."

"Thanks."

Without wasting any more time, I shoved the front door open and rushed outside to the parking lot.

A light just outside our gate caught my eyes and I paused my actions.

Without another thought I rushed towards the gate, hoping that it was Kyomi.

I reached just in time to see her shut the taxi door shut.

I felt myself stiffen. She'd taken a taxi and so late at night?

Where exactly had she been?

As soon as her gaze went to me she immediately stopped walking, her eyes wide for a second before hatred clouded her features.

I winced at her expression. I didn't like when she looked at me like that.

"Where were you?" I asked.
