" Kibbles that wasn't it we have to try making a combo again" I said as I looked disappointingly at my Lubu Lubu system stats.

I watched Kibbles bound over to me from the other side of the makeshift battle area that we had created a few years ago.

"Kibbles your beast form is massive… remember when I used to carry you on my shoulder?" I sighed looking at the massive Kithun who was at least three times bigger than me. As the years had passed both Kibbles and I had ranked up. We had used a mixture of the war system as well as the strengthening techniques of the Tulk.

Our bones, muscles and even blood had transformed in one way or another. Kibbles of course had ranked up granting him the ability to transform into a human like most other high level spirit beasts.

I watched as Kibbles bounded from rock to rock causing cracked to form with every step before he closed his eyes and his body began to shrink. It wasn't long before he went from a adult sized Kithun with sharp teeth and fur to a teenage boy wearing a black and red robe.

" Yuki I'm tired, we have been doing this all day." Kibbles said as he stretched his arms.

I looked at Kibbles long black and red hair and couldn't help but notice how different he looked from when I first saw his human form in the soulscape. I took a moment to inspect his arms which now had the same tattoos as Cupid. The only difference being that they had been made with the Tulk's photo luminescent ink.

I looked at his face that had been once rounded but now more muscle. He had grown tall, so tall in fact that he was now taller than I was. He was easily 6 foot now while I was 5'9 much to my disappointment.

Kibbles began to look at me expectantly since I had been silent and I responded "I know.. I am tired too but Tama will be waiting for us in less then two months" I said with a nod.

" Do we have to go back?" Kibbles said as he picked up a rock with one arm and punched it with an frustrated look on his face.

" You really didn't have to do that" I said as my shoulders slumped.

The dust fell all around me like rain and I took a moment to appreciate it.

" But hasn't life here been peaceful? Haven't you said a million times that living here has made you happy?" Kibbles said as he moved the shield and helped me up.

The shield without my magic shrunk and became just as average piece of bark. I watched as he fell to the ground before I took his hand and stood.

" Eu sabia que vocês dois estariam aqui!" Farah said as she rushed over.

"Você está de muito bom humor!" I responded with a smile.

" Of course I am in a good mood. Your coming of age ceremony will be soon! All of the Tulk are excited for the saviour of our people" Farah said as she smiled.

" I am no saviour" I said as I shook my head.

" We would have starved to death last year if you didn't use your magic to grow crops!" Farah said without batting an eye.

She then looked over at Kibbles and grinned.

" You and your friends are all heros" She said before winking at Kibbles.

Kibbles gave a hmph before turning back into a Kithun and shook off his fur.

[ You should be nicer to her. ]

" I will be nicer when she stops following me around when I am in my human form" Kibbles said telepathically as he stood behind me.

It has been known for a long time that Farah had grown feelings for Kibbles ever since he saved her from a spirit beast called the Jimena. The beast was fast but not as fast as Kibbles. He had made short work of it and had gained an admirer along the way much to his distress.

Farah had grown out of being shy and instead had adopted Kibbles playful nature. Her appearance was that off a tomboy now not that you could tell from the size of her chest in her native attire.

" Do you want a lift back? Kibbles and I are going back to the village" I said politely.

" You mean… on Kibbles?" Farah said as she blushed from ear to ear.

" Mm" I said as I nodded.

" I .. I" Farah unable to speak nodded in response.

" Stop telling people they can ride me. I am not a bus!" Kibbled said as he growled.

[ You were going to give me a ride weren't you? ]

" Your different" Kibbles said as he walked up to me and nuzzled my face.

I held his nose with both of my hands and place my forehead on Kibbles. My head was only big enough to cover some of his snout as I took in his earthy sent and smiled.

[ Let's go Kibs ]

I let go of his nose and jumped on to his back as I offered my hand to Farah. She grabbed in and in a swift moment she to was on Kibbles.

Although there was two people on his back Kibbles made short work of the bumpy terrain as I will all the plants around us to bend to my will. In just less than two incense sticks of time we had all made it back to the village entrance.

We were greeted by smiles as we trotted through town. One of the locals had even fed Kibbles a fish as we took Farah to her house.

We said our goodbyes and decided to make our way to the local shaman's hut and pay a visit to Loki about our combo ability that we were working on. It had all began a few weeks ago when we saw Nathan and his spirit beast combined their magic to water an entire field.

They had made a giant body of water that would sprinkle down on the crops like rain.

Apparently when Nathan and Undine work together their ability is strengthened three fold. When Kibbles and I had heard the explanation we had wanted to try it too and that was when we received the task from the Lubu system.

Since the Lubu System had given us a mission it was certainly possible to do. We had practiced since then and had not been able to figure out how to do it leaving us both frustrated.

As I was thinking to myself about our current problem I noticed that we were just about to arrive at the sharman tent.

" Try not to get your arm caught in your own trap next time" Said a familiar voice.

A Tulk women came out of the tent looked and Kibbles and I before three finger saluting and left.

Not far behind was Loki who was wiping sweat off his forehead.

I jumped off Kibbles and Loki noticed him and I.

He walked up to us with a smile as Kibbles transformed back into a human.

" You two get injured again?" Loki said with his eyebrow raised.

What he was wearing was reminiscent of a doctor from back on earth except he had a hostler that was filled to the brim with various herbs. He too had grown taller. Since he had been focusing on healing he had stayed really slim and was the most pale out of all of us. He now looked exactly like Cupid had when I first met him except Loki had cut his hair short.

He now had a side fringe with a chin length asymmetrical bob.

" We don't get injured that often Loki" Kibbles said as he walked up to Loki's side and leaned on him.

" Remember the tree incident?"

" That was"

" Or the Culk Beast?!"

" Yuki help me out here!!"

I watched Loki and Kibbles argue back and forth before I smiled.

" We are here about our combo" I said before Loki looked up at me.

He removed his hands before Kibbles cheeks that he had been pinching before he smiled at me.

" Come inside and we can chat about it" Loki said before he moved his head in the tents direction.

[ I hope Loki made lunch! ]
