Chapter 19

“Oooh… So this is an ancient dragon.”

I was floating above a huge cave deep in the mountains. When I looked below me, I could see a big dragon sleeping soundly in the cave. 

Yes. Dragon. 

Ancient dragon. Although this thing was called an ancient dragon, the one before me had a long body just like a snake along with a pair of arms and legs. Appearance wise, it was different from the western style dragon I knew. This dragon had a huge wing on its back and the difference with a snake was that this dragon’s body wasn’t as long as a snake’s. 

“Hm. Pretty big… And strong. This… This might be an opponent that I can enjoy fighting against. It’s been a while since I last had an opponent like this.”

Alaine, who was being carried by a princess carry by me, said so as she looked at the ancient dragon. 

By the way, Alaine-san couldn’t fly. Her usual jump could allow her to reach the sky and if she used her legs to hit the air, she could technically run in the sky but she couldn’t fly in the sky….  To be precise.

So although she could float, she still couldn’t fly. I was using magic to fly in the sky but Alaine-san couldn’t use that kind of magic. That was why she couldn’t fly. 

Hence why I was carrying Alaine in my arms. 

“Who’s going to fight it?”

“… I got to fight our previous opponent before so I will give this one to Alaine.”

A little while ago, Alaine gave me the No-Life King so I decided to give this one to her. 

“I understand. Then please put me down for a bit.”

“Yessir.”

I threw Alaine-san away.

Alaine-san was moving fast against the wing as she fell down and down. 

BAM!!

A tremendous impact shook the mountains, creating a crater on where Alaine landed. Alaine with her armor and greatsword, along with those muscles covering her whole body… She was pretty heavy. Her weight was enough to create a crater on where she fell. 

“Hm!”

Alaine drew the greatsword from her back, getting her stance ready. 

“My name is Alaine! I’m the former Knight Captain of Arakia Principality and right now I’m an Iron Class adventurer!”

The sleeping dragon woke up, slowly roused itself. The ancient dragon’s eyes were laced with wary, recognizing Alaine as a threat. 

This ancient dragon is pretty clever. 

“GROARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!”

The roar of an ancient dragon. The volume of the tremendous roar that escaped its mouth shook the mountains even further. 

It was huge… And what a voice it had. An ordinary human’s eardrum would explode in a POP! Just like that. But I was protected with magic so I was fine. On the other hand, Alaine must be a monster without a doubt to be able to stand perfectly fine without being protected by magic. 

“Now it’s time to fight like usual!”

With a greatsword in her hands, Alaine kicked the ground.
