Chapter 38

Alaine closed the distance between her and the chained boy in one single breath and swung her Heavenly Sword down. The chained boy blocked her attack with his numerous Magic Swords, trying to create a distance between them as best as he could. 

“I won’t let you get away.”

Her Heavenly Sword easily repelled the numerous Magic Swords. The blade’s heart extended, chasing after the chained boy.

“………..”

Not feeling undaunted, the chained boy kept on throwing numerous Magic Swords after Magic Swords. He was somehow able to withstand Alaine’s attack by using his treasured tools. 

Light and darkness. Alaine’s Heavenly Sword, which was radiating in divine light, chased after the darkness, repelling the Magic Swords bearing the power of the dark night.

His Magic Sword, or to be precise, his magic power, had the combination of both purple and black. It really gave off the impression of the darkness. The fight between Alaine and the chained boy really gave off the feeling of the fight between light and darkness. It was really cool. 

Swiiish….

Powders were falling in front of me. I didn’t know where we were. I didn’t know what materials the floor or the ceiling or the wall was made of. At a glance, this place looked like an ordinary cave though. 

The aftermath of their battle certainly did some damage to this place. If this place were a normal cave, it’d have already collapsed instantly. 

Clashing between swords kept on happening between Alaine and the chained boy’s fight. Sparks were flying, the battle became even faster. Or rather, just how could he move so agile like that when his body was bound in chains? 

Light and darkness clashed again and again but the battle was still far from over. All the while, the cave was starting to shake. Dust and sand were starting to drizzle in a flurry. 

“Phew…”

I let out a small sigh. Their battle was starting to go for far too long. 

“Time is over.”

A single ray of darkness was shining. The chained boy already had his hands full dealing with Alaine. Taking my chance, I shoot a magic sword toward the chained boy, piercing through his stomach. 

The chained boy’s feet stopped moving. The numerous Magic Swords and the magic tools, everything disappeared. 

“……….Ugh.”

Blood started to overflow from the chained boy’s lips. His blood dripped onto the ground. 

“Hmph!”

Then finally, Alaine completely cut the chained boy’s head off. But before the chained boy’s severed head could hit the ground, his body, chain and everything, disappeared like a ray of light. 

All that remained was a small stone that was emitting beautiful sparkling light. Alaine silently picked that stone and put it into her pocket. 

GRUMBLE GRUMBLE GRUMBLE

The entire cave started to tremble greatly and released a massive magic power at the same time. Everything was being unraveled, returning to its original shape. The cave, the space before us started to crack and gradually, the scenery changed. 

SHATTER!

The space bursted and the scenery returned to its original form. Alaine and I returned to the same place we had been before we jumped into that black hole.
