Chapter 4：The System

'My name was... , I can't remember, well it doesn't matter now does it? It's history just like my life is and if you are slow then, I died!'

'I can't remember why and I don't think it's important. After all, what is more important: a name and action forgotten with time or this beauty standing in front of me?'

'Those lines, those curves or more exactly the curves you can excpect from a floating blue box that has the button 'ENTER' on it.' (A.N: No goddess this time guys.????)

'Might as well press it. What do dead man have to lose after all?'

'After pressing it I heard a robotic voice.'

System: "Welcome to the system interface. As you can see there are several options available. Many are self-explanatory but in any case it's recommended to use the help button. Any command can be given through thought. Keep in mind that the system cannot answer questions NOT regarding itself or the user. If you want to see the currently available options just think 'MENU'."

'Pretty basic till now, although it feels like those pesky tutorials.'

Thinking 'MENU' a window pops up displaying several options:

-Status (Godly: Turns the body to a semi gaming avatar that allows increased growth rate regardless of race. It doesn't change the fragility of the body.)

-Shop (Godly: Allows user to buy items and abilities from across dimensions.)

-Inventory (Common: 10 Slots)

-Mission

'Huh? System what is empty? I'm guessing it isn't a locked option but a missing one.'

System: "Correct but also wrong. You can purchase or unlock functions for the system according to your preferences. For this you need an empty function slot that can be bought in the 'SHOP'."

'Will that function also have a grade?'

System: "Yes every function has a grade and can be upgraded by completing upgrade missions. The functions can be bought at a higher grade with a considerably higer price of System Points (SP). SP are gained by killing enemies and completing missions. Also keep in mind as you travel, changes in history of the worlds you go to can be rewarding, sometimes more so than missions."

System: "As the introduction has ended the user is gifted a random box, is allowed to select or construct a body, can choose a name before transport."

'Where are you taking me?'

System: "For now locations are locked at Random'

'A body... I will probably need to blend in easily'.

'Give me the body and appearance of 'Hei' from 'Darker than Black'.

System: "Processing"

System: "Completed"

'It felt so much better to be able to see my new physical body, as the moment i moved my hands i knew for sure.... i am alive, this isn't a dream.'

'There goes that, now I think its better to check the 'STATUS' first.'

Abilities:

-Passive: None

-Active: None

[SP]=10

'System, how do i compare to normal humans?'

System: "Your body is comparable to a well trained soldier but with faster and with quicker reflexes. Considering that you cant exploit its potential you can be considered as an above average civilian. "

'So, lower fighting ability than a recruit huh?... I should check the box, System does it change anything if I open the random box now or after i travel?'

System: "Opening on arrival increases chances of obtaining an item that may help you survive in that world."

'That is definetly going on the next chapter.... it seems you dont need to be clinically crazy in order to break the 4th wall. Good to know.'(A.N This was just for some fun, not happening regularly)

'Let's look at the Shop before going so i can plan a few things ahead. Take me to the Godly section as it should have fewer stuff and then we go to down from there.

---5 hours later---

'THIS IS INSANE, how much stuff is there in here?!'

System: "Including common items the number is: (Incalculable). You can filter by setting specifications with your mind. You can also obtain the ones in the world you are currently in manually, abilities going against the laws of the world will be locked. Do keep in mind that buying contradicting abilities can result in mutations or death.

(Ex.: It is not recommended to buy Wolverines: adamantium bone structure together with Iron Man 3 Extremis serum as you might end up in a pile of mush.)

'Very well, I understand. Now lets get out of here'

System: "A name is required to continue."

'A name? A name that will always remind me of today, the day I started my journey. Let's see..... system can I put anything I want as a name?'

System: "Yes."

'Then why not do this. System put Zero as my name, my true name.... in letters please.'

System: "Name chosen, the system will take defensive actions to ensure that targeting or hostile actions using your name do not occur."

'Now, lets get out of here.'

System: "Initiating Jump."

'Is what i hear before blacking out.'
