When Tie Zhu saw Bing Meifeng glancing suspiciously at him he immediately knew that she had many questions to ask that he was not sure how to answer.
"It's not too early anymore... I think we should go back to our homes and prepare for school or else we will be late." Tie Zhu suddenly made an excuse as he broke the awkward silence, before slowly backing away.
"Wait, how are you even planning to get back?" Bing Meifeng replied hastily seeing that Tie Zhu was trying to get away.
Just as Tie Zhu was about to explain Bing Meifeng once again stopped him before he could speak.
"The ferry service doesn't start until 9 am and you might have to wait a long time for other transport services. Either way you will most likely not make it in time. How about we take my car instead" She said, hoping it would give her more time to inquire about what else Tie Zhu was hiding.
When Tie Zhu heard her response he was not sure how to respond at first. What she said did make sense however he also knew that if he accepted, he would likely fall into her trap. Suddenly he thought of another solution. "... Uh, sorry I wouldn't want to bother you. If the transport doesn't work I can just run back." He responded as he was somewhat eager to test out his new capabilities.
When Bing Meifeng saw that Tie Zhu continued insisting on rejecting her once again an indescribable irritation filled her heart, as it reminded her of the situation yesterday. 'Where am I not good enough' she couldn't help but think, before scolding herself for caring so much about what Tie Zhu thought.
"Wait, you said before that you were not sure how to apologise for what you did to me. How about you drive me back to my place instead since I'm not feeling very comfortable... You won't have to answer my questions if you don't want to." She said while a pink blush painted her face as she mentioned her injury.
When Tie Zhu heard her response he cast a slightly suspicious look at Bing Meifeng.' How can she forgive me so easily after what happened yesterday? What other plans does she have?' he couldn't help but think. In fact, he had wanted to find a proper way to apologise rather than something so simple.
He wasn't exactly sure why, but a part of him had already decided that Bing Meifeng was his own woman despite his feelings for Tao Keke. Perhaps it was because she had been his first woman, or his sense of responsibility as a man, however a large part of it also came down to the highly possessive and selfish nature of dragons.
From the moment that Bing Meifeng had seen him transform into a dragon he had already known that he could not keep everything hidden from her, however at the same time he was not sure how much he could trust her with. After much consideration, Tie Zhu finally agreed to her request. The reason for this was because he could take this time to get a greater understanding of the cultivation background of Earth so that he could plan better for the future as he was not sure if he would be able to meet anyone else who could provide him with such information.
Although Wang Yazhu was knowledgeable on cultivation a large part of that was from his understanding of his previous world. Tie Zhu wanted to know more about what the heights of cultivation in Earth and how to avoid conflict with them as much as possible. Furthermore if he accidentally revealed his secrets to someone else the consequences could be much more severe.
Speaking of which, Tie Zhu had noticed that since he had waken up Wang Yazhu had not said anything this whole time. Thinking back to the events yesterday, he recalled how Wang Yazhu had sabotaged him and had actually intended to take over his body. Thinking that he was hiding to avoid him, Tie Zhu quickly cast his consciousness into his Dantian only to see a liquid mass of his spiritual energy tightly surrounding a fuzzy grey ball that was the spirit of the Tentacle God. He could sense that if he removed the surrounding layer of spiritual essence he could once again communicate with Wang Yazhu, however he decided to leave that until later as he was still not sure how to get his revenge.
"Okay, I'll agree to... Wait, did you ask me to drive? I've never driven before though and I don't even have a licence." Tie Zhu said before realising that she had asked him to drive her to her place. Although he had never driven a car before it was still something that he had wanted to try, however a part of him was still somewhat nervous as he remembered how his parents had passed away in a car accident.
When Bing Meifeng heard that Tie Zhu had agreed he inwardly breathed a sigh of relief as if she was nervous that he would reject her again.
"That's okay, I can teach you how to drive and you won't have to worry about a drivers licence. I can sort that out for you too." She replied calmly.
Although Tie Zhu was somewhat hesitant at first he eventually agreed, following Bing Meifeng back to there her car was parked.
"Do you want me to carry you?" Tie Zhu couldn't help but say earnestly after noticing that Bing Meifeng was walking with a slight limp on the way.
"No it's fine, I can walk by myself." She replied coldly, trying to maintain her cold atmosphere that most people were familiar with.
"Ah" Bing Meifeng yelled as she lost her footing and was about to fall.
"RUMBLE!" Suddenly the entire island shook, causing Bing Meifeng to lose her balance. The shock had only lasted a few seconds before coming to a stop, as freshly fallen leaves still floated in the morning breeze.
Seeing that Bing Meifeng was about to fall, Tie Zhu almost instantly appeared by her side to catch her within his arms holding her like a princess.
"What was that? Was that an earthquake?" Tie Zhu couldn't help but ask, forgetting the embarrassing position he was holding Bing Meifeng in. He had never experienced an earthquake before but from what he knew earthquakes in this location were extremely rare.
"... Probably.. You can let me go now though." Bing Meifeng replied slowly as she wanted to find a place to hide. 'Why am I in his arms again?' she thought to herself, however she found that she actually did not hate this feeling.
After putting Bing Meifeng the two continued to walk in silence before finally making it to the car park.
What they did not know was that what had just happened was not an earthquake at all. The entire island they were standing on was actually a gigantic seal that had been put in place many thousands of years ago! Over the years the seal had actually maintained much of its strength, however yesterday when Tie Zhu was madly absorbing the Spiritual energy he had inadvertently weakened the seal by directly absorbing the Qi that held it in place! Although he only absorbed a tiny fraction of it, it had been enough to awaken the unspeakable terror locked inside!
