Noe's mood instantly plummeted.
Unlike Xiaoxiao, she couldn't even sense that there was someone else trying to see through her abilities and strength! She felt so bad that her eyes went to the side just to dodge the white man's attention.
This white man's name was Venes.
"You are… from The Aria Kingdom?"
Kyoya asked Venes after seeing Noe's mood. He couldn't possibly go and comfort her now, but if she knew how strong the person on the other side was, then there was a chance she would get better, at least a little.
His question made Venes giggle a little, "Yeah, do you know me?"
"You look like Miss Chloe. She once tried to catch me."
"Ah, I remember a little. There was one rookie worthy of attention and she tried to lure you into our family to avoid all responsibilities. Honestly, Chloe is already a century old lady yet she complains so much. Someone has to finally bone her hard and make her busy a little."
"..."
"Haha! Then you must be one of our kingdom's adventurer guild victims? Sorry."
Venes casually apologized to the husband while keeping his smile on. He jumped onto the railing and kept his legs swaying just above the bottomless pit! It was a man who could so casually jump and go around this place with such heavy air and aura!
He also casually shared the Aria Kingdom Adventurer Guild's plan.
"It's a suspicious plan, isn't it? All promising rookies were the target of our people and we easily kept killing them one by one. Every newbie with little brain cells would understand that we are the ones doing it."
"..."
"By then, there were two options left for such an adventurer. He either would give up on the adventurer life or join our adventurer guild. Some potential people also could try getting into popular parties, but the world is so big, isn't it? On a larger scale, our plan is really good."
"Except for the fact that you keep killing innocent people that want to just live."
"I don't feel like arguing with you about that. Let me just tell you that there are no innocent people in this world and stronger leverage on weaker. Dog eats dog world."
"..."
Venes spared himself from speaking about morals and weaker people as those were often sources or just mere resources for the strongest. He was a person who cared about his kin and that was just enough.
He also was pretty talkative, so his goal was not to cause problems to the husband.
But everyone had yet to learn what Venes' goal was.
He kept speaking about random things for now.
"If you were to hit a wall on your path, would you just give up or search for a stronger individual? It's often said that there is always someone better than you, so I personally would find such a wall unbearable."
"Are you saying that there is something valuable on this floor to make you stronger?"
"Yeah."
Venes gestured at the bottomless pit. He hinted that there was something new, something that this world pillar had yet to see in its long longevity. His words were like the real challenge that provoked the husband.
However, Kyoya also had another reason to take on that challenge.
It was the middle area, the goal of his party. Kyoya wanted to properly see through his area and help his friends get stronger. For example, Kyoya believed that the death energy from this floor would be highly beneficial for his deathbringer and her disciples.
And many more elements gathered here were all valuable.
But what kind of challenge Venes had?
"Today, I want you to work with me. Our next meeting might be different. We can be either enemies or allies, no more than that. But, if you were to bone my sister, then I would at least keep you alive."
He pointed just at the husband, then continued.
"This area has something really nice. I just can feel it. We all can benefit from it, so how will it be?"
"You have to tell us what exactly you need from us. Isn't that obvious?"
"Of course it is. So, I want your two women to share their energies, so that I will be able to get control over this floor's orbs."
"Orbs?"
Venes explained.
Since it was the middle area with the elements coexisting with each other, there were the 'main' origins of this floor in this bottomless pit. Those origins were just one of many things that Venes wanted from here.
But taking the whole origins would mean that the floor's whole system would get drained!
"Are you planning some genocide?"
"Not genocide since all those people can go to lower floor and have a nice life here."
Some things finally became clearer for Kyoya and his party.
What could possibly bring this man here? The whole floor's energy and the feat of destroying it were not something that everyone could get. It was unheard and probably the first in the whole world pillar history.
Additionally, there was also something that this world pillar has never heard within a bottomless pit or even below! Kyoya bit his lips and turned to Xiaoxiao and Noe.
"Do you want to try? This man is weird, but there is also a chance that 'she' is here."
"Kyoya. If we turn away, then what our next goal would be? Keep hunting monsters to get achievements or do some minor missions from adventurer guild? We don't have to run away, but should try and face the challenge."
"I agree with Xiaoxiao."
"Then, we have to go on and face the challenge!"
Kyoya smiled at his party members, then turned around to look at Venes who was not minding them taking a lot of time.
The man answered Kyoya's glance and faced him properly.
"I am Kyoya. For this floor, we will be allies."
"Venes here. My allies always get a little share, so don't be that suspicious of me."
Two men shook their hands, then Venes yet again returned to the railing. He stood properly on it, then waved at everyone to come closer.
He then pulled his hair behind, "In my two hundred years of longevity, I always drew a clean line between ally and enemy. It makes things so much easier." Venes then let his hair rampant along the wind as he threw himself straight to the bottomless pit.
Leaving the husband alone, Venes enjoyed the fall as his laughter filled the pit.
"As I will allow everyone to jump without checking it first. Everyone, wait a little."
The husband used his invisible concept, grabbed the wind, then began to make his way down below. His friends and loved ones laughed as the husband couldn't get more comical with his way of going down.
It looked like sometimes he held invisible rope, but also sometimes desperately grasped for an invisible ladder. It was funny and the mood quickly eased between the party members.
"Kyoya… is amazing. I would be able to speak with this man this causally."
Hiro commented, his eyes looking at the bottomless pit with a little fear.
"Yeah, I am the same."
Josef nodded, his arms folded.
There was clear understanding between these two men.
