The magic of the sealed soul?
“If that’s the case, isn’t it too creepy? Then was it Anata’s magic?” Kayden muttered, clicking his tongue.
If there was such a custom in the Ingram Dynasty, then Enoch might be right. It also explains why there was a sudden, disturbing fog around the cabin.
“The sealing of Anata was probably Jenas’ work,” said Kayden with a confident face.
“What makes you think so?”
“When I was young, I was experimented on by bastards who looked like priests. The moment I entered the break room, the memory of that time came to me vaguely.”
Kayden spoke very calmly as if reminiscing on someone else’s memory.
There was not a trace of anguish on his face, but it is not known whether his heart is at peace.
“I think this island was made for some kind of experiment. The Vatican bastards who tested me said that there was a list of test subjects. Jenas was also mentioned. I think all of this has something to do with them, as well as with my family.”
Kayden paused for a moment, then closed his mouth with a confused face. He must have been so shocked that he was recalling the terrible memories of the past.
I quietly pondered his words.
What was the experiment for?
In addition, the temple and the Rohade family were intertwined.
The Rohade is a family that represents wizards, but hasn’t the history of confrontation between wizards and priests been going on for a thousand years?
“Anyway, it’s clear that Jenas isn’t an ally. I can’t believe he has something to do with the experiment on this island…….” I murmured a little bitterly.
Could this be the reason why Jenas was friendly with me? It is natural for the experimenter to have goodwill or curiosity toward the subject.
Enoch, who was sitting quietly with his arms crossed, opened his mouth. “Did the temple and the Magic Tower join hands? I don’t understand the idea of kidnapping the crown prince of the empire and the crown prince of the kingdom as well as major figures to conduct experiments.”
Kayden sighed and replied, “It looks like they’re trying to start a continental war.”
A heavy silence fell again.
“Ah, come to think of it, Jenas told me to keep an eye on the Saintess. I think she knows something.”
“What? The Saintess?” Kayden asked back.
“I don’t know. I was also curious but he didn’t explain further.”
I was in the Jenas’ cabin for only about a day and a half. In addition, so much information came in during that short amount of time that I was distracted from thinking about anything properly.
Looking back, I think there were a lot of important puzzle pieces, but the process of putting those many puzzles together was more difficult than I thought.
I rubbed my temples and added, “Jenas also said he borrowed monster eyes to watch us. He only borrowed but can’t control them.”
“Borrowing the eyes of a monster? Fuxk, that wolf bitch didn’t just stare at me. He was there to watch over me. Why the hell is that wizard doing such a dark thing?”
Seeing Kayden become indignant, Enoch responded calmly, “Either he is the culprit behind all of this, or he is insane because he has been stuck on this island for a thousand years by the temple and the Rohade family. It must be one of them.”
Come to think of it, that damn boy said he wanted me to survive, but I ignored him since I almost became a monster’s meal at that time.
“Shall we move first? I’m anxious because I don’t know when the monsters will appear.”
Kayden, whose anger did not seem to subside, seems to have calmed down a bit at my words. He glanced at me and said, “I am here, Margaret. Don’t worry.”
He immediately picked up a thin twig and started drawing a magic circle on the ground. What is he doing?
After completing a very complex-looking magic circle for a long time, he stood on top of it and held out his hand to me.
“Can you inject your mana into me?”
“Ah, sure.”
I nodded with a puzzled face and extended my hand—with the ring from Arthdal on my finger—to him. He took my hand and immediately a bluish light came out of my hand.
With his eyes closed, Kayden reached out toward the magic circle with his other hand, and the light from my hand permeated into the magic circle.
I could feel my mana draining from my body at a terrifying rate.
A fleeting moment passed, and the blue light surrounding us rose as a pillar. The light that had been emitted for a moment was quickly extinguished.
Kayden took his hands off me and turned to Enoch. He returned to his usual cheerful face.
“I put a barrier here so the monsters can’t see us. Even Jenas will not be able to look in.”
He winked at me. As expected, it’s Kayden who knows how to use my mana most efficiently and effectively.
There was still a lot of mana left in my body.
I glanced at Enoch. He was still covered in blood, and his wounds from before seemed to be quite serious.
I pointed to Enoch’s shoulder and asked, “Kayden, can you use healing magic? Enoch’s wounds…….”
Enoch shook his head. “I am fine. Better for you to get treatment than me.”
“No, you don’t look fine.”
“Hold up, what are you talking about? Margaret, are you hurt?”
Kayden hurriedly came over and grabbed my shoulder. Then he looked at my clothes and made a surprised face.
“Huh? Wait, I didn’t see it because you were wearing the crown prince’s uniform. You are wearing pants? What is this top? Why is it so short? Damn it, I’ve never seen anything like this before. Isn’t it too revealing? It’s worse than underwear.”
He opened the front of the jacket I was wearing and hastily closed it with a surprised face.
Then he took off his robe and put it over my jacket.
“Don’t take this off. Really don’t take it off.”
“You don’t have to do that. I am okay. These clothes are comfortable.”
As I refused and tried to take off Kayden’s robe, Enoch unexpectedly stood up for Kayden.
“Margaret, I want you to do as Lord says. Those clothes are very dangerous.”
No, where the hell is this outfit dangerous? Who’s in danger? I looked back at Enoch with an absurd face. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen Enoch take the side of Kayden like this.
“I will heal your wounds. Margaret, you first, and His Highness’ treatment comes second.”
At Kayden’s words, Enoch also nodded his head in agreement with his arms crossed.
They were so stubborn that I had no choice but to hold out my hand to Kayden again.
Kayden gently grabbed my hand and pulled me up slightly with a smile.
As soon as I got up, he wrapped his arms around my waist and his face came close to my nose as if he had been waiting
Just before his lips touched my cheek, a large hand blocked him.
“Lord, what are you doing?”
A ghastly voice like frost echoed. Enoch was standing right next to me.
‘Why is everyone so fast?’
Kayden clicked his tongue and withdrew slightly from me. It was a face that looked very regretful, but Enoch’s bloody gaze eventually forced him to focus on treating my wounds calmly.
When he put his hand on my wounded stomach, bluish light poured in and the pain gradually started to go away with a little cold feeling.
“Wow, that’s amazing.”
Usually, even if you take painkillers, there will always be a wait for the effect to spread, but I could feel the pain disappear right away.
‘I want to learn magic too.’
Kayden finished his healing magic with no effort. He smiled brightly without letting go of my hand. Then he approached Enoch.
First off, Enoch’s white shirt was a real mess. His shirt was torn like a rag, so that his strong abs and curved muscles could be seen in places.
‘Looking at it again, it’s embarrassing.’
Looks like he’s the one who needs the jacket.
Kayden looked at Enoch and clicked his tongue once. “I think you’d better take it off. It’s so messy and can make treatment difficult.”
Enoch unbuttoned his shirt one by one. Kayden glanced at me as I watched Enoch take off his shirt quietly.
“Margaret, will you close your eyes?”
“Huh? why?”
Kayden put on a puzzled expression at my question.
“Then…… do you want to watch it?”
“It’s not like he’s taking off his pants.”
“Well…… right.”
Kayden nodded with a sour face. Meanwhile, Enoch threw off his shirt completely, revealing his fierce, stocky body.
As if God had sculpted it, the delicately curved muscles and angry chest came into view. Even though he was covered in blood and bruises, he couldn’t help but look like a perfect statue.
How can a man’s body be so sensual?
Of all the wounds on his body, the shoulder wound seems to be the most serious, but Enoch sat down with a calm face, exposing his bare body, and looked up at Kayden and me.
There was no agitation in his calm golden eyes. He’s like someone who doesn’t feel pain.
“It’s a bit serious.”
Kayden also narrowed his brows and examined Enoch’s wound, then he turned to me.
“I think this will take a lot of mana, is it alright?”
I nodded and looked down at my hand. There is still a subtle glow in the emerald gem.
“Still enough.”
Kayden nodded at my words, and he picked up a thin twig. Then he started drawing a magic circle in the air instead of on the ground.
A trail of blue light passed through the air along the twig. It was a truly wonderful scene.
The magic circle is a very complex formula. Even if you draw a line on the floor, you often draw the formula incorrectly, but to draw a magic circle in the air where no line is left is amazing.
‘Come to think of it, he said he could embody the magic circle he drew in his head.’
After all, Kayden is a genius.
However, such light thoughts briefly stopped as my mana was being drained at a frightening speed from my body. I breathed in as I felt my energy disappear in an instant.
