I hid the sigh that rose up and spoke to Ardal.
“Ardalm can you sit down for a moment?”
“Is there anything I can do for you?”
No, don’t raise his favorability. Staying still should help. I don’t intend to die from being stabbed in this game.
I firmly nodded. Ardal sullenly found himself in the chair I was pointing to and turned away.
I needed to deal with the Ring of Blessing to log out, so I needed to find a way to remove it. There must be a way to reset it… like a full-body reset…
Firstly, I opened [Haniel’s Wardrobe] and looked inside. Only Haniel’s nightgown, which was given as a basic outfit, was hung.
[Haniel’s Nightgown – Indestructible item]
[If you wear it, you can watch the tutorial again. <Unable to intervene>]
Well, that was a waste of time. It seemed to only show the player’s situation, like if I fainted.
I put the clothes back in the closet and closed the door. No matter how much I looked around, there seemed to be no way to log out. What if I really lived here for a thousand days?
When I realized that it was impossible, I felt uneasy. I sat down on the bed and hugged my knees. A small booklet was placed on the bedside table next to the bed.
It was a booklet on how to play the game.
I quickly grabbed it. I grabbed the booklet in a hurry. It included how to use the equipment, how to check the simple system window, precautions for setting sensitivity, and some information about the game. When I saw the last chapter, I exclaimed.
“Ah!”
[A special place is provided for players in the Empire. Players can arrange equipment windows or communicate with the Holy Land in places designated as player zones, including <Haniel’s Resting Place>.]
That’s right, if you go to the Empire, there was this.
In contrast to [Haniel’s House] where logout was impossible, players can logout via the system window as soon as you enter a rest area in the Empire.
I remember turning off the window [Do you want to save and log out?] since it automatically pops up when I enter the area. It was a useful place in many ways since you could organize things with the full inventory window.
If I can’t log out myself, then I’ll make the system make me.
I closed the booklet with a wide smile at the thought of this new method.
I played the game for a maximum of six hours last run, so three hours should be fine this time. I was relieved.
I’ll have to play the game without logging out until I get to the Empire, but compared to 1,000 days, this is enough.
I looked at Ardal, who sat quietly near the bookshelf. When our eyes met, he licked his lips and smiled.
“I’m done. Let’s go back.”
“Did you check everything you need to check?”
“Yes.”
When I came in, all I did was open the closet, pull out my nightgown, look around for a while and check the booklet. I nodded at his question.
“If you need to take anything with you, it’s best to take it now.”
“There isn’t.”
This wasn’t really my home, so there was nothing I was attached to. I answered sternly.
Oh, should I take the booklet with me? Although it’s basic, it contained information that could help me navigate through the system. Since I couldn’t log out, it seemed to be helpful for me, especially since I had a hard time finding out about the game without any access to the outside world.
“I just wanted to take this.”
“What is it? A novel?”
“Well, something like that.”
To me, the title of the book was ‘A Guide to Smooth Gaming.’ Suddenly, I wondered how it would look to Ardal. I asked him while holding the book.
“What do you think?”
“There’s no title on the cover… as you said, it must be a novel.”
“There’s no title.”
Repeating Ardal’s answer, I smiled contentedly. I was relieved that it looked empty if I read it in front of a character. It meant that I could read it anywhere.
I got up from bed with the book.
“I’ll take it.”
“It’s not heavy. I can hold it.”
I shook my head with a smile, who was about to read the small book. As I was about to leave with Ardal, I turned my head as something came to my mind.
Haniel’s nightgown was an indestructible item.
Wouldn’t it be useful to put it in my inventory?
“Haniel?”
“Wait.”
Ardal, who opened the door, called out to me, stopping and blinking curiously. His dark eyes looked closely at me as I ran to my closet.
I burst open the closet.
[Haniel’s Nightgown – Indestructible item]
I took my nightgown from the closet and approached Ardal’s side. He asked, looking at my bright, lacy nightgown.
“How many nightgowns do you have?”
“Huh?”
“It looks just like the one you were wearing when I first met you.”
“Oh, right. I have multiple of the same nightgown.”
When Ardal first met me, I was wearing the same nightgown. I didn’t think about it, but where did my nightgown go? When I woke up after passing out, I had already gotten changed into other clothes.
It was indestructible, so I couldn’t have torn it apart.
“Where is that nightgown?”
“His Holiness is keeping it.”
When I asked about my nightgown, I closed my mouth at Ardal’s words. No, why is that?
It’s an indestructible item, but shouldn’t there be an automatic washing function? I frowned at the thought of it being stained with all sorts of fluids and the blood of that vagrant.
Did the Pope have any odd kinks apart from his fondness for toys? It was pointless to worry about it anyway.
Then I’ll let him play with it.
I nodded at Ardal, thinking generously.
“I have nothing to pack now, so let’s go back, Ardal.”
