Chapter 8. I’m glad you kissed me.

Contrary to the fact that my body had hardened at Altair’s fierce eyes, my head was spinning fast.

Looking back on Altair’s parting conversation, he seemed to be sleeping somewhere else these days. It wasn’t because he was just busy, he had even set up a separate room and left.

I was relieved that Altair hadn’t shown up for a few days, but I felt strange when I found out that he had deliberately avoided me.

‘Did he happen to be embarrassed that day…..?’

As I approached the window with an unexpected thought, I turned my head, frowning, even when I saw something Altair couldn’t see.

Just looking at my face must have made his neck ache because he’s annoyed.

‘Well then.’

It wasn’t that he cared about me, but he seemed tired of my stupidity that day and didn’t want to see my face. How angry would he be if he ended up sleeping uncomfortably.

When Altair turned to me openly, the knights began to look at me too. Pavel also coughed and quietly closed the door.

“Don’t worry too much. You’re complaining for no reason.”

I smiled at Pavel to signify that I was fine, but seeing his troubled expression, it probably wasn’t a very good smile.

“It’s because I made a mistake. I was walking around naked, not knowing it was a shared room…..”

“No, it’s not. The Lord would do just that….. yes?”

When I confessed the cause of what happened to me, Pavel, who had been reflexively trying to say a word of comfort, kept his mouth shut as if belatedly trying to understand the meaning of my words.

As he rolled his eyes left and right about what he was thinking, he asked me in a higher voice.

“Then….. you were naked? Did the Lord see it?”

The seriousness of the situation was felt when the man, who always had a sullen face no matter what happened, asked with his eyes wide open in surprise.

A noble man wanted a decent wife. Walking around a shared room without dignity and clothes….. which husband would be pleased with something like that.

I shook my head quickly, worried that even Pavel would call me an undignified madam.

“I didn’t mean to. I thought it was Anna who came in….. The Lord must be angry at the careless appearance of his wife, right?”

I promised myself that I would do well in the role of his wife in front of Altair. I thought that Altair was going to give me a chance if it was like that. I was greatly deducted from the start by a stupid mistake.

Pavel scratched his head in embarrassment as if he didn’t know what to say.

I lost my strength and ended up keeping my head down to the floor, holding my dress tight.

There are times in life when everyone makes mistakes. Mistakes themselves are not bad, but if you run away without correcting them, then you will become a really bad person.

I took a deep breath and moved quickly. I had to go to the exercise field that I saw outside the window and meet Altair.

As soon as I hurried down the stairs and headed to the exercise field, Altair was seen leaving. His footsteps were quite quick as he walked, wiping his sweat with the shirt he was wearing.

I stretched my feet more busily, in case I failed to reach him. However, it was not as fast as I thought, and instead, my feet got twisted and I stepped on the hem of my dress.

Altair turned his head and looked at me, perhaps because he heard the brief scream that burst out reflexively.

The moment I felt our eyes meet, my body leaned forward without a chance to deal with it.

I closed my eyes and quickly reached forward. I could have injured my wrist, but it’s better than banging my head.

But what followed was not the expected pain. Instead, a strangely familiar sensation touched my fingertips.

When I opened my eyes in surprise, for some reason, Altair was lying under me.

I’m sure I saw him so far away, then how…?

As I blinked in bewilderment, Altair, who was underneath me, groaned and touched his forehead.

“Are you going to stay on top of me like this?”

“Ah! I’m sorry!”

I tried to get up in a hurry, but I was so surprised that it was hard to stand up properly.

Altair sighed deeply and raised his upper body when I failed to get up several times.

As I felt Altair’s immense pressure as the distance drew closer in an instant, my shoulders shrunk involuntarily.

Altair’s body temperature, which seemed cold, was surprisingly warm. His body heat seemed to have risen because of the training a while ago.

It was difficult to look straight into Altair’s eyes, for some reason, when I smelled his sweat and the characteristic scent of his body.

I couldn’t stand it anymore. As soon as I lowered my head, I heard Altair’s voice above my head.

“Yes?”

When I raised my head, Altair’s face was in front of me. He furrowed his brow as if he didn’t like the proximity, and gently tilted his head back.

“Didn’t you just come down here in a hurry to tell me something? Whatever you’re going to say, do it now.”

It’s true that I came down because I had something to say, but my mouth didn’t open when his intense red eyes were staring at me.

Altair frowned. Even so, his scary face felt twice as terrifying as usual, so I shrugged my shoulders and bit my lips.

“That day, I…… took off my clothes and walked around carelessly.”

Altair smiled in vain and swept his hair up.

“If it was a mistake, it would have been Anna who didn’t serve you properly. If I dig deeper, it’s my fault that I’ve been holding her back all this time. Why on earth did you think it was your fault?”

“You haven’t come since you left that day…… And you didn’t want to see me just a moment ago……”

Altair, who stopped talking while screaming, closed his mouth as he saw me flinching.

Altair’s voice, which continued with a sigh, was very firm but not scary.

I blinked my eyes in this strange feeling and looked at Altair, and he got up from his seat, holding me lightly with a frown on his face.

It was already the second time that I have been lifted by him. It was like being a straw doll.

Altair’s face wrinkled when a sneeze broke out before he could even finish answering.

“You sneeze when you’re nervous?”

“Then tell me when you want to look outside the castle.”

“Yes. I’ll look around with your permission, so don’t worry!”

As I tilted my head not knowing his intentions, I sighed as if I had become Altair and waved my hands. It just seems to mean go.

Pavel, who recognized my gesture, quickly approached me.

Following Pavel’s guidance, I took a glance at Altair and saw that he was whispering to Blan, who had just appeared.

Their expressions were so serious that I could guess they were talking about something very important.

Blan looked at Nadia moving away with a careful step, and sighed as her figure went away.

When Blan pretended to dance in front of him, Altair’s face crumpled sharply.

Pavel, who sat unnoticed in the corner of the knights pouring out cheers and applause, shook his head and sighed.
