52 Chapter 166: Paying back

The house went quiet when everyone has gone. Wu Chen and Yi Fei returned to their own home and John was sleeping in his assigned room.

Jun Liu finally understands why NaNa said that Yi Fei would understand. He couldn't know for certain what it is that Yi Fei understands but she did- surprisingly.

Maybe NaNa knew that Yi Fei could change Wu Chen's mind, which is why she spoke to Yi Fei rather than Wu Chen. Jun Liu turned to look at NaNa who was fidgeting beside him.

"You should take a shower. I'll whip up something for you to eat."

Before Jun Liu could walk to the kitchen, NaNa grabbed his hand. "No. Just order something for us to eat" NaNa looked at Jun Liu's arm sling. "That…mm…you know…"

Seeing that NaNa was reluctant to say something, Jun Liu knew that something was on her mind. "What is it?"

It was embarrassing for NaNa to say this herself but she doesn't want to go to Wu Chen's house to get her clothes. Last time was an exception because she didn't have her clothes with her. But now, she did bring a suitcase of her clothes to Wu Chen's house.

It's just that; she's afraid that she won't be able to return to Jun Liu's house if she stepped into Wu Chen's home at this moment. Wu Chen babied her too much and super protective of her. Wu Chen seemed upset when she said that she wanted to stay in Jun Liu's house tonight.

"Can I borrow your clothes? My brother, he…" NaNa did not wish to elaborate more on her concern so she was hoping that Jun Liu could understand what she was trying to imply.

"Alright. Get whatever you need in the room."

NaNa walked inside the room and had her shower. After sometimes, she went out with Jun Liu's clothes on and both of them had their dinner together.

Since it was dark, naturally, the nurse hired by Wu Chen had already left to go home, so Wu Chen had to tend to Yi Fei's bandage himself. Yi Fei told him that it was nothing but Wu Chen insisted that they opened the dressing and checked the wound.

When Wu Chen opened the wound, he saw that the injury was opened slightly and a drop of blood could be seen on the bandage clothes. Wu Chen panicked.

He picked Yi Fei up in a princess style and headed downstairs toward his car. He wanted to send Yi Fei to the hospital so that the doctor could treat the wound again. Yi Fei repeatedly said that she was fine, but Wu Chen was not having it.

In the hospital, Wu Chen put Yi Fei on the wheelchair and pushed the chair toward the emergency room, but Yi Fei got angry because Wu Chen was abusing the emergency room for something that was not even an emergency. While Yi Fei was having a staring competition with Wu Chen, an old lady with an old man stopped near them.

"Miss Fei… Mr. Wu" The old man greeted both of them. Yi Fei turned to see the owner of the voice and her face lighted up.

"Auntie!" Yi Fei called the old lady enthusiastically. "And erm… Uncle Tang?" Yi Fei was having difficulty in recognizing the old man because half of his head was bandaged. He looked like the old man Samurai Zombie which fought with Zoro in Thriller Bark.

The old lady was the same old lady Yi Fei, and Wu Chen met in the supermarket. Now that they meet each other again, it must be fate.

"Are you two like…hurm… husband and wife?" Yi Fei touched her chin as if she was thinking very hard when it is evident since the old lady was holding Uncle Tang's hand.

"I can't believe that I will meet you here, Auntie Tang." Yi Fei and Auntie Tang talked while ignoring their own significant other. Wu Chen also spoke with Uncle Tang. Yi Fei and Auntie Tang spoke about a lot of things as if they were long lost best friend. At the same time, Yi Fei tried to clear out the misunderstanding that Auntie Tang had on her that she was pregnant. They were chatting animatedly.

Suddenly, Uncle Tang was on his knee. He was touching Wu Chen's hand while saying 'thank you' nonstop. The action attracted a lot of viewers. Wu Chen helped Uncle Tang to stand up, and he was saying 'no' nonstop too.

Uncle Tang stood up and wiped his tears. Auntie Tang was as confused at Yi Fei, but she went to her husband to comfort him. Uncle Tang kept on bowing to Wu Chen. Wu Chen became awkward and excused themselves from the old couple. Yi Fei waved goodbye to Auntie Tang.

"Why did you make Uncle Tang cry? You shouldn't make old people kneel on their knee. It was…" Yi Fei didn't know what happened to Uncle Tang nor did she know that Uncle Tang saved Wu Chen's life by shielding him.

"He saved me. I only want to repay him" The answer from Wu Chen was simple, so Yi Fei became more confused. Like why would he make Uncle Tang cried when all he wanted to do was to repay him?

Wu Chen told Yi Fei everything that happened with him and Uncle Tang. Yi Fei couldn't help but feel very thankful to Uncle Tang too. The staring contest they had earlier was long forgotten, and Yi Fei suddenly tried to stand up to hug Wu Chen.

Wu Chen let Yi Fei hugged him in the hospital, with all the people watching them. "I'm glad you are fine. Let's do something good to Uncle and Auntie Tang." Wu Chen smiled and nodded his head in agreement.

Wu Chen has asked Liu Shi to do a background check on Uncle Tang. He and his wife came from the countryside. They have two sons. One is in middle school, and another one is about to pursue his study in the university. At first, Uncle Tang operated a stall in the neighborhood to support their living while his wife worked in City L in one of the small restaurants in City L as a kitchen helper.

Since their son needed a lot of money to pursue his study in university, Uncle Tang came to City L to work odd jobs to support his family. Since there was nothing suspicious in Uncle Tang's background information, and his family also known to be good people, Wu Chen thought of something.

"What did you tell Uncle Tang that made him cry?" Yi Fei sat back because she started to feel the pain in her leg as she stands.

"I told him that I'd pay for his son's education fee and he could work in Misty Bar. They need someone to cook there. And his wife, the auntie that you love so much could work as a kitchen helper in Misty too… Also…" Wu Chen stopped talking because Yi Fei was suddenly crying. "Why are you crying too?"

"No wonder uncle is crying. This is all like hitting the jackpot. If it were me, I would cry too" Yi Fei wiped her tears. "Good job Chen Chen" Yi Fei gave him a thumb up.

A certain someone was in the middle of a phone conversation when he heard knocking on his door.

Zi Yi was furious because his plan failed. He wanted to plan for another thing to get back to Jun Liu but the constant knocking on his door made him mad so he opened the door to see two unfamiliar men standing outside his house.

"We are from the special investigation unit. Please follow us" The men flashed their ID card.

As someone who practiced the law, Zi Yi knew that he couldn't get away from this. He hung up the phone and docilely followed the two men.
