Chapter 17

I dream about being with you forever.

I love a happy ending. They are so rare.

You already know how I feel, of course.

I'm here...which roughly translated,

means I would rather die than stay away from you.

I dream about being with you forever.

About three things I was absolutely positive.

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was part of him -

and I didn't know how potent that might be - that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

"For the last time, WHO ARE YOU?" Katherine said with a loud voice while stepping on the man's chest who was helplessly lying on the floor. The other Sanguinarians can't help but felt fear for themselves because their leader was already under the scary female vampire. She is beautiful but it can't hide the fact that she is powerful enough to finish them all. "Kath, calm down." Drake said who was already behind Katherine.

"I...I'm Greg...Gregory." The man said. "Gregory? Where are you from?" Drake asked but he got nothing from the man. "Speak!" Katherine said pressing down Gregory more into the ground. "I'm from the North Clan." Gregory said. "Who sent you? Why did you kill those innocent people? What did they do to you?" Katherine asked with tears in her eyes. She can't stop her tears from falling especially when she remembered the dead bodies in St. Leonard Hospital. "Why did you kill them? They are all innocent! They didn't do anything to all of you!" Katherine said shouting, looking to all the Sanguinarians inside the dungeon. If looks could kill, Drake is sure, all the vampires infront of them are all dead now. He can feel Katherine's pain. It was her first time seeing dead people because of the Sanguinarians.

"That's enough, just calm down." Drake said trying to remove Katherine's feet on Gregory's chest. He can hear the crushing of bones in the man's body. He can see that eventhough the man is a vampire, he's wincing because of pain. Drake saw the others and gave them signal to bring all the Sanguinarians into their place. Serafino will be the one to decide what will they do with them.

"Kath, if you kill him now, justice will not be serve. You will be like them." Drake said while calming Katherine. He felt relieved when Katherine put down her feet. Her golden silver eye came back to it's normal color. Her fangs was already hidden. Drake mind link Athan to bring Gregory along with the others. "Let's go home." Drake said pulling Katherine but before she could make her first step, she fainted.

Katherine woke up in the same familiar place, her bedroom. "Morning, Kath." Amber greeted her with a smile on her face. "Morning." Katherine said in a whisper. "How are you feeling right now?" Amber asked. "I want to say I'm good but, I'm really not." Katherine said. Amber sat on the edge of her bed. "Everything happened for a reason. Some live, some die. We live, they must die. They live, we must die. It's our destiny and we can't do anything about it. We are in a game of life. This is survival of the fittest, Kath." Amber said. "I will make sure that there will be no more blood shed in the coming days for us and for them. I will do everything in my power to stop them in harming or even killing the innocent." Katherine said with her serious tone. "Yeah, I will support you until the end but before you can do that, do something on your fainting. Paps almost hit Drake because he thought something happened to you. We told him everything that had happened and he was really angry with Drake and with you. You shouldn't use your powers because your body is not yet ready for all of them." Amber said continuously without even breathing. "Sorry." Katherine said. "Don't say that to me. Drake and Serafino needed that." Amber said. "Where are they?" Katherine asked. "Dining room." Amber said. Katherine didn't waste time, she bathe and hurriedly went to the dining area, Amber following her.

"I thought they were here?" Katherine said looking at Amber because there's no one in the dining table but there's food and it seems no one had breakfast. "I left them all here." Amber said. Suddenly, Vlad appeared from nowhere. "Vlad, where's Paps and the others?" Katherine asked. "Ah, Kath, they were busy on something. Got to go." Vlad said. "Vladamir!" Katherine said before Vlad could vanish from thin air. "Where are the others?" Katherine said with firmness on her voice. Vlad sighed deeply. "I will be killed by your grandfather." Vlad said. "Then choose, Vlad." Katherine said and Vlad felt fear for his vampire life for the first time. He gulped seeing Katherine's golden silver eyes. "Kath..." Amber called her friend but when she winked at her not letting Vlad see her, Amber laughed from within.

"Dungeon." Vlad said. "Thank you, Vlad." Katherine said patting Vlad's shoulders then, dissapeared with Amber.

Inside the dungeon were Serafino, Drake, and the rest. The guards called them because Gregory flew into a rage, hurting five of his guards and attempting to hurt himself too but Serafino was able to stop him in no time. "I will kill all of you. I will have no mercy on anyone of you. Let me out of here and let's have a fight. If I win, you will let us go, all of us." Gregory said with a challenging tone. "What if I win?" All of them looked back hearing Katherine's voice. Serafino gave a narrowed eyes to Vladamir who was already behind Katherine.

"Hi, we've met yesterday. You can call me Kath." Katherine said introducing herself to Gregory making the rest looked puzzled. "What happened to her?" Dawn used the mind link forgetting that Katherine is already capable of using it too. "I'm sure she's up to something." Thana said over the mind link. Thana made sure that she had blocked their links for Gregory not to hear anything. "A bad or a good thing?" Amdis said making the rest of the girls smiled. "Depends upon her mood." Athan joined them. "Yeah, yesterday was a bad thing, maybe today is a good thing?" Alaric said. "Doubt it, a bad thing yesterday, of course, a bad thing today." Blade said. "I agree." Kieran said. "You all have the guts to talk about me, huh?" Katherine said over the mind link making Amber giggled. Drake and Serafino have no reactions at all but deep inside them, they are smiling because they knew Katherine have a plan. The rest were in shocked and made a peace signs on their hands.

"So, what will be our deal, Greg?" Katherine returned her attention to Gregory. "I...I" Gregory doesn't know what to say. "If you can win against me, you, together with the rest, will be free. But if I win, what will be your offer, Greg?" Katherine asked with her eyes on Greg's trying to read his mind and she succeeded. "Alright then, I'll give you two days to prepare yourself. I'll let you train with Athan and Alaric." Katherine said. "What!?" Both of the men said in unison. "Just a warning, Greg, no monkey business, no hocus pocus. Do your part of the deal and I will do mine. But if you try to do anything that will anger me, you will meet your death sooner." Katherine said with a wink to Athan and Alaric.

"But, I didn't say anything yet." Gregory said with a narrowed forehead. "You didn't talk but your mind spoke." Katherine said. "See you after two days, Greg." Katherine said. "Come on, Hunter, let's play." Katherine said calling the wolf and it happily followed her. When everyone left, Greg looked at his guards. He was hesitating to ask but he wants to know. "Who is she?" Gregory asked. "Katherine, Kath for your short." The guard said making Gregory rolled his eyes. "I already knew that. I want to know the real identity of hers." Gregory said. "You will know who she really is when you fight her." The guard said making Gregory in deep thought.
