Chapter 53

Tonight I claimed a youthful girl

I do not know her name

Unlike the rest, she showed no fear

Or cried for one to blame

Before I pierced her virgin flesh

Our eyes did meet and there

I gazed upon my rotten core

And glimpsed a speck of care

It was as if a sacred cross

Had rammed into my brain

And then for once in centuries

My demon guest felt pain

I fought against the raging fire

Resumed my gruesome task

But as my prey fell silent

I knew she was the last

A year has passed since I have known

The taste of human blood

Beguiled, I have been poisoned

By silly schoolgirl love

I live off swine and insects

Hide deep within the woods

For like a stinking carcass

I'm cast out by the good

This penance is the perfect curse

Perhaps I should appeal

Yes I was evil, sought my face

A wound our Lord won't heal

In Hell I am a failure

A thorn in Satan's side

I walk alone, then, shunned by all

The dark my only guide

In shadows now I search for rats

But moonlight thwarts my tack

The misery that taunts my mind

Seems worse on winter's back

Thus I resolve to end this pain

Accept what lurks beyond

I seek no peace and that's a fact

I crave no magic wand

Tonight upon this tainted ground

I rest till dawn of day

When sunlight flares and dead flesh burns

I hope to fly away

To where I killed the youthful girl

And there my ghost will dwell

My sentence for eternity - to think

Drake and Katherine opened their eyes at once. "He's here!" Katherine said and both of them dashed outside just to be surprised that Serafino, Vladamir, and all their friends were tied up with a silver chain. Drake and Katherine shifted seeing Luther and Travis were standing just behind them wearing evil grins on their faces. "Nah ah, not so fast princess, all of them will die including everyone outside just a snap of my finger." Luther said when Katherine begun to disappear. Drake walked through the window and he clenched his teeth when he saw that everyone was also chained including the humans.

"What do you want!?" Katherine shouted angrily. "You." Luther said. "Just come with us peacefully and everyone will be safe." Luther said. "Don't listen to him!" Amber said and the silver chain on her neck tightened and she choked. "Stop!" Katherine said seeing Amber had difficulty in her breathing. "Don't listen to him. We'll think of a way..." Drake wasn't able to finish his sentence because he fell on his knees. "Drake!?" Katherine shouted and tried to help her mate but Luther's men took the chance and chained both of them. "Noooooo!!!" Katherine shouted when she saw Drake beeing drag towards the rest. "Drake!!!" Katherine shouted but he already lost his consciousness. "Well, the situation is getting better here." Luther said while raising the head of her mate. "Don't touch him!" Katherine shouted. Suddenly Drake screamed.

"Drake, what's happening to you? Drake!?" Katherine shouted but he can't hear her. "He's dying." Luther said laughing. "I will kill all of you!" Katherine said and slowly the guards beside her stepped back seeing she's trying to escape from her chains. "Don't tire yourself my princess. You can't escape that one. You will only hurt yourself." Luther said. Katherine felt pain but she has to do something. When Luther saw that Katherine was able to destroy one of the chains on her hand, he dashed towards Serafino. Katherine stopped wiggling when she heard Serafino's whimpers.

"Princess, princess, my princess. I told you to come to us peacefully or I will start with him." Luther said lowering his head on Serafino's neck. "No! Stop!" Katherine said making Luther grin widely. "I will come just don't dare to hurt anyone of them." Katherine said. Luther looked at Travis and the ear piercing sound of the silver whistle was heard all over the place and Katherine, before loosing her consciousness, saw how everyone's bodies fell on the ground. She wanted to scream but she was engulfed by darkness.
