Chapter 2：(chapter 2) Sophie's Missing.

4 hours passed, Lindy tried to contact Elena because it was too late. Lindy said: "hello Elena! Can I talk to Sophie, its too late". Elena got confused and said: "what? I'm sorry but Sophie is not here, she haven't came to my home". Lindy got worried and asked her "didn't Sophie come for studying with you?". Elena said no. Lindy didn't tell her mom about it because she knew where would Sophie be, Ofcousre in the Woods. Lindy took her cell phone and a knife. Lindy told her mom that she is just going to Elena's home to pick Sophie. She went to Elena and told her every single thing. Elena decided to go with her to find Sophie. They took everything they needed. After they reached there in the woods Lindy and Elena both started calling her name. They were searching for her for 20 minutes but no one answered. After that, Elena came closer to the large bushes she found something in the bushes, It was Sophie's ring made of emerald stone which she never took off. The stone was covered with all red blood. She called Lindy to see it, Lindy came to her and said: " this ring? It's hers! She must be in the tomb (well), come with me". Lindy took out a rope and tied Elena with it, she told her to go in the tomb. As she went in there was something liquid on the ground which affected her it was polychlorinated biphenyl filled with vervain which caused her feet to burn. It is very toxic for human and animal bodies. She yelled out for help Lindy immediately pulled her up. Elena said to her: "I don't know what it was but it caused me alot of pain, its like my feet are burning there is something on the ground". Lindy saw her feet, they were burned. Lindy said: " what? Yesterday Sophie was there, and i went there nothing happened to us! And I saw there was something liquid but I didn't know it was not water but something else!?" Elena told her that she saw something: "the door that you were talking about, it was not locked I saw it and I'm sure". Lindy said: "maybe Sophie.. I want to go down". Elena did not let her go and said that she will come by herself soon. She was tensed. She told her Mom that Sophie is staying there at Elena's. Lindy waited all night she could not sleep, she understood that something has happened to Sophie. At 3:00 am she decided to go to the Woods again and to risk her life just for the sake of her Sister. She reached near the well, her hands were shaking. Suddenly she saw a snake around the tree, she quietly took out a knife from her pocket and stepped towards it. When the snake saw her she drove the knife in its face twice and she ran to the tomb. She went down in the well carefully. She touched the liquid with her toe, she felt nothing and touched a little bit more again nothing happened. She was a bit curious about it that how it did not affect her but Elena. Lindy tried to go inside the cave but she could not, although there was nothing she even opened the door but she could not enter. It was forbidden for humans to go in it. Lindy called Sophie, but seemed like no one was in there. She sat down there for 2 hours. But then she decided to go back home since no one replied. She took a sample of the liquid spread over the ground in a plastic bottle so she could ask her teacher about it. She was being careful about the snake but it was not there. In morning she went to the School, she told Elena about the liquid. In her experimental class she asked her teacher about it, the teacher tried to touch it but he felt like flaming. "I know what it is, give me some time I'll test it" said the Teacher. When the classes were over Lindy went to lab to ask her teacher. "Come in Lin, I have tested it, Its a chemical filled with vervain it's dangerous for humans. Where did you get that?" Said the teacher. "Uhh.. that, um.. my friend yeah a friend of mine gave me this to test" said Lindy coming near the beakers, as she touched the liquid. "Be careful, dont touch it" said her Teacher. Lindy said: "no sir it doesn't affect me, I have touched it before". The teacher stared her for a while with a strange look. "That ring! Is it yours?" Asked the Teacher. "Yes Sir, its umh.. a tradition (custom), everyone in our family has it". The teacher asked her that is it made of emerald stone. "I know, why it doesn't affect you. Its because the emerald stone can control it. It protects you from toxic chemicals". Lindy ran straight away to Elena, she asked her to give her Sophie's ring. A moment she realized that Sophie doesn't have the ring so she can't go in the tomb which means she is not in the cave.
