A week later, Sora and the Lightning Wing Pirates finally arrived at Sabaody Archipelago. Sabaody was the last island left in Paradise before Fishman Island, the entrance to the New World. It wasn't actually an island, it actually a mangrove forest made up of 79 trees growing from the ocean. Each of those trees was a different area of Sabaody numbered 1-79.

1 through 29 were the lawless areas, where there was massive slave auctioning and crime. 30 to 39 all comprised Sabaody Park, an amusement park with bubble based attractions. 40 to 49 was the tourist area with various shops and souvenir shops. 50 to 59 was a shipping area for the purchase of new ships, fixing of ships, creation or selling of ships. Areas 60-69 were the local marine head quarters, 66 was where the base was. Finally, 70 to 79 was a hotel town.
In order to find some Celestial Dragons, Sora would first go destroy a few slave auction houses in the lawless area. His goal wasn't to free the slaves at all though. Although he didn't really care that much about slavery as an idea, Sora thought that it wasn't a problem if there were regulations to keep slaves safe and properly fed. While he didn't approve of how the Celestial Dragons treated their own slaves, he had to ignore it for now. He wanted to be known as a 'Celestial Dragon Hunter' not a 'Slave Saver.'
The Lightning Wing Pirates parked their ship in dock 17, and Sora split up with them. They could enjoy doing as they pleased while he dealt with his business. He headed towards dock 1, where he knew he would find an auction house. Once he arrived, he wandered around for a bit before finally finding it. He didn't know when they would start an auction, so he decided to just wait there. He was in no hurry to destroy it. He knew it would attract Celestial Dragons, though.
Luckily for him, there was an auction that very night. Soon, a multitude of people began to gather at the auction house. A lot of them were pirates or just filthy men, probably looking to get a sex slave or something, but there were a few who walked by and everyone stepped out their way. They wore their fishbowl helmets and walked proudly among everyone else. These were obviously Celestial Dragons, but Sora wouldn't make his move yet. He would kill them when the auction is ending because he also wanted to see what one of these auctions is like. He wondered, should he go to a world with slavery and get himself some slaves? It might be interesting to have someone call him 'master' who is actually a slave...
That was for later though. Eventually, the auction house doors opened and everyone began to walk in. The Celestial Dragons barged in first, yelling about enslaving those that didn't get out of their way. Sora also made way, he didn't want to start a fight just yet.
He followed everyone and sat down, waiting for the auction to start. He knew from the manga that there were minimum starting bids for different slaves. A human was 500,000 berries. Minks, Dwaves, Longarms, Longlegs and Snakenecks were all 700,000 berries. A fishman was a whole million berries starting bid, while giants had 50 million for males and 10 million for females. As for merfolk, males started at 1 million. Females had different prices depending on wether they were 30 or not, due to gaining the ability to change between a tail and feet at 30. Under 30 the starting bid was 70 million, while over 30 it was 10 million.
He remembered that Luffy had Camie to guide him and the Straw Hats to Fishman Island in the anime, so he planned to actually purchase a mermaid slave too in order to guide his own crew. He would let them free after reaching the island, since if he had and kept a mermaid slave how would the fishmen believe him when he promised to let them see the sun once again?
The auction began with the selling of several different slaves of various races. Sora bought them all, since he felt bad for them. He had no money, but they didn't check that first. He would pay and pick up his slaves after the auction was completed. This was done to make it more time efficient. So, he placed the highest bid on every slave. Since he was going to get rid of the whole auction house, why not take the opportunity to free these slaves? It would help him with the Revolutionary Army in the future if he freed a bunch of slaves.
Like this the auction went on for awhile before finally, a mermaid appeared. She had dark pink hair tied in a ponytail by light green pearls and wore and orange and yellow triangle bikini. Sora felt he recognized her, but he didn't know who she was. How could he be expected to remember every character he's ever seen? That was the reason he was watching the anime of the various worlds he planned to visit! He didn't remember this mermaid being a slave though, so he assumed it was due to the differences in the world from his interference.
The auctioneer announced her as having a starting price of 80 million berries and Sora immediately bid 200 million. Nobody tried to offer another bid, but the Celestial Dragon was glaring at him for the rest of the auction. Sora knew he would try something later, and he welcomed it. Luca, the mermaid who he just bought, had been worried she would be bought by some sleazy old man the entire time and was glad the one who bought her was at least handsome. Although she didn't want to be a slave, she had been caught and was forced to be one now. She only hoped he wasn't scum, and she could still live happily as his slave. Well, as happily as she can be.
