31 Locked in distress

Back in the forest Atsit has quickly adjusted to this new life. This place was surely good. There were all the necessary amenities and there was peace too.

Over the days she had taken a tour of the surroundings and she found out that she wasn't alone here. There were birds, animals, plants. There was only shortage of humans.

Maybe they were there on the outskirts of the forest as she had not gone that far. Another interesting bit about this place was that in the night sky there were three moons. It was also very wet here as there was rainfall every other day.

In this quite weather she was once again occupied with thoughts. Thoughts of her gruesome reality.

What made that psychopath drop her at such a location. Was he planning to kill her after this moment of peace? He didn't like her, that was evident with his treatment of her. What he did to her was any woman's worst nightmare. He took the most important thing from her that night: her dignity! She felt dirty now. Very dirty. Every time she bathed she scrubbed herself hard. To get his dirt out of her. Every night she slept he was there doing that evil deed to her. Every time she woke up screaming in fear. And every new day of her began with the fear of his coming back to her!

She was terrified of him. And there was no one to console her, to comfort her. She terribly missed her family. God knew what he had done to them. Tears welled up in her eyes thinking about her weak mother and little sister. They would not be able to survive.

If something happened to them she would die then and there. The world was a useless place without them.

She would cry and cry and cry and then sleep would take her over to her worst nightmare.

And then she would wake up again and try to live again that Lares would have spared them, that some force would have made him protect them. With that wish she would try to live again. She would wash and feed and pass time. And then again the night would come with its arrogance.

Such a gruesome cycle carried itself for her for a fortnight until he came back.
