His face was painted in red. His fierce eyes were calm. His whole appearance was messed up but he still looked serene as he lay still. He looked like a storm was turning into thin air. A lifeless devil. But a devil nonetheless.

For when awake he would not hesitate to take out the breath out of innocent lives for his pleasures' sake. No amount of forgiveness can do for his evil deeds.

He was the living hell.

He was the devil himself.

He was Lares.....

The whole of Atsit was frozen. Chills rose in the back of her spine. Cold sweat washed over her. The whole surrounding was spinning around her. Her body was trembling in fear.

The atmosphere had suddenly turned calm but spooky. It was as if in seconds this body would wake up and attack her and take from her what it was left of. He was like the Ghoul, who had come to take the last breath out of her until she became life and soul less.

This monster! Why was he here in this condition? Did someone finally manage to kill him? But how? And why? Was his attacker one of his victims? Whoever did this did a good deed. Such a lowlife had to suffer. Who knew how many victims he had?

Or was he acting? Would this acting end in a moment and she would be attacked? Would she be again kept a captive? Or would he kill her this time. She would prefer the later. Better to die than to suffer.

But his motionless stature and the cuts and wounds proved that he was deeply hurt. Very hurt. If his wounds were not treates at the earliest he would surely die. Blood was gushong out of his wounds. There were deep slashes on the neck, chest and back.

His face too was marked.

His breath was intensifying as if preparing for death.

But she won't save him.

She would never save this monster after what he did to her. This served him right.

If she had the courage she would put the last knife in his heart and stop the emotionless thing.

Recalling what he had done to her and what he was capable of, Atsit decided to leave him alone over there. She couldn't kill him nor could she save him. Maybe his attacker will return in a while. And seeing her there she too would be targeted. Better to hide than to be near this monster. She should hide inside the house as it had many safety measures to block the attacker. Why should she die for such a worthless creature.

She finally felt a lot at ease knowing that her torturer would die today. Yes she felt happy seeing his wounded body.

But the moment she stood up, those still lips spoke something........ And then he went still like before.

Atsit looked at him wildly. Was he speaking the truth?

She bent down and held his body in her arms. She half dragged and half carried his unconscious body to the house.

There she locked the door and began tending to his wounds. She had to save him. He had to live. There was no way he could die after what he said
